Livianaâs POV
Almost 15 years laterâ¦
âMommy, Lucas is being annoying againâ Liana complained.
Itâs the 3rd time this night that he complained about his brother.
âI wasnât even doing anything. Youâre the annoying oneâ Lucas barked back.
They just donât rest.
âLucas and Liana, didnât I ask you to behave? Itâs your brotherâs 18 birthday party. Can you please get along for the night atleast?â I said.
They both pouted.
Lucas and Liana are twins.
Lucas is only a few minutes older than Liana.
They turned 14 not too long ago.
Yes, theyâre in their teens.
Itâs probably the hardest phase in raising children.
They started shifting more than a year ago.
Iâm lucky they donât fight with each other in their wolf forms.
That would be extremely chaotic.
âYou guys are giving mom a headache againâ Luke suddenly appeared.
Liana pouted and Lucas stood tall in front of his big brother.
âLuke, Lucas is annoying me againâ Liana started sucking up to his big brother.
Lucas glared at her.
âI wasnât doing anything to youâ Lucas denied.
Luke shook his head with a chuckle.
âYou guys just donât restâ Luke said.
Then, Luke looked around.
âMom, whereâs dad?â Luke asked curiously.
âHeâs talking to your grandparents and unclesâ I said and pointed to a table where Luan is.
He was having a chat with my parents and his cousins.
Luke nodded.
âHow are you liking your party?â I asked him.
âItâs amazing, mom. Thank youâ Luke said and planted a k**s on the top of my head.
I smiled.
I canât believe that Luke is already 18 years old.
If heâs lucky, heâll find his mate soon.
If heâs even luckier, itâll be someone who is the opposite of my 18 year old self.
The goddess know how much Luan struggled to win me over.
That was quite something.
It wonât be long till Lucas and Liana reach that age as well.
Iâm not sure if Iâm really ready for that.
It felt like yesterday that I gave birth to them.
I canât believe theyâre growing so fast.
All I can do now is guide them all throughout their journeys.
In 3 years, Luke might take over the throne.
Heâs been preparing for it all his life.
I promised Iâd guide him all throughout.
âIâll excuse myself for a moment. I think I need some fresh airâ I told my kids.
They nodded and each gave me k**s on the cheek.
I went to Luan first.
âLuan, Iâm going out to get some airâ I told him.
Luan looked at me a little worried.
âWhy? Is everything okay?â he asked.
âEverything is fine. I just want to go out for a momentâ I told him.
âDo you want me to go with you?â he asked.
I shook my head.
âItâs fine, reallyâ I assured him.
Luan looked at me hesitantly.
âIâm fineâ I told him.
He sighed and nodded.
Then, he gave me a peck on the lips.
âDonât be gone too longâ he told me.
I nodded.
I excused myself and went out of the palace.
I decided that I wanted to take a walk.
Iâm still not the biggest fan of big parties, I guess.
I walked and walked until I reached a pond.
I went to the pond and walked on it.
Then, I stared at my reflection in the water.
Then, I stared at my reflection in the water.
The moon was shining beautifully.
But then, I suddenly felt sadness.
My reflection stared back at me.
Itâs been how many years but I still looked like I havenât aged a day.
Of course.
Itâs not possible to age anymore.
I sighed as I looked up at the moon.
Is this really a gift or a punishment?
While everyone else around me aged, I didnât.
I should look like Iâm in my late 30s but I still look like Iâm in in my mid 20s.
It felt like a curse.
Actually, it is a curse.
A curse that I had to bear for all eternity.
The curse of immortality.
For others, itâs a gift.
A blessing.
But to me, it wasnât.
Iâll have to watch my loved ones age.
And eventuallyâ¦.die.
Iâll have to deal with it.
Because I canât die or age while everyone else can.
It was a price I needed to pay after that day.
A tear fell from my eye but I quickly wiped it away with a sigh.
Then, I heard rustling.
I turned to look at the direction of the rustling and a girl suddenly came out of from the bushes.
I stared at her.
She lifted her head up and our eyes met.
Her eyes immediately widened in realization and bowed her head low.
âYour Highnessâ she said nervously.
I raised my brow a little looking at her.
She was well dressed with a bag in her hands.
She quickly tried to hide the bag but I already saw it.
âLook at meâ I told her.
I saw her gulp as she lifted her head up to look at me.
My brows furrowed when I recognized her.
âAlissaâ I muttered stunned.
Sheâs Axelâs daughter.
Step-daughter actually.
âWhat are you doing here?â I asked.
She gulped again.
âIâ¦I wasâ she hesitated.
I sighed.
âDonât lie to, Alissa. I hate it when people lie to me, remember?â I said.
She bit her lower l*p.
âIâm running away from homeâ she said honestly.
I was shocked but not surprised.
It was obvious.
But I didnât know the reason so I didnât assume immediately.
âMay I ask why?â I asked her.
She looked at me with teary eyes.
âComeâ I told her softly and made my way to her.
I sat down Alissa.
âWhatâs wrong?â I asked her as I wrapped my arm around her to give her a hug.
She suddenly burst into tears.
âI just want to leave and start a new lifeâ she said sobbing.
I sighed.
âAre you not happy here?â I asked.
She shook her head.
âItâs not thatâ she said wiping her tears.
âI just donât think that I can live my life as I want it to be here. I feel restricted all the time because of my parents. Iâm sorryâ she apologized.
I shook my head as I wiped her tears.
âItâs fine. You didnât say anything wrongâ I assured her.
âBut you havenât even turned 18 yet. Are you sure that this is what you want?â I asked her carefully.
She nodded.
I sighed.
âLet me see your bagâ I said.
She looked at me confused but still gave me her bag.
I checked her bag.
âWait for me here. Donât leave until I come back. If you leave, Iâll hunt you down myselfâ I told her.
She gulped and nodded.
I quickly made my way back to the palace.
I went to different places in the palace to get things from here and there.
I even got money from my safe.
I put everything in a bag.
Then, I rushed back to where Alissa is.
She was patiently waiting for me by the pond.
Alissa gave me a confused look seeing me back with a bag.
âYou canât leave or survive with just thatâ I said and pointed to her bag.
I grabbed her bag and put it inside the bigger bag that I brought.
âI put in more things for you inside this bag. I also put in cash there. It wonât last you forever so youâll need to figure out something at some pointâ I told her.
Alissa looked at me stunned.
âI know that you can handle yourself considering that you trained with the men all these years. Iâve seen you fight and youâre more than capable of handling yourself. Still, I want to remind you to be cautious at all times. Itâs dangerous out thereâ I reminded her.
Alissa still looked at me confused.
I sighed.
âI understand what you want to do with your life. I get it. You want to be able to find yourself. If this is what will help you, then I donât think I have a say in it. Itâs your life and not mine. But please be safeâ I said.
Alissa hugged me.
âThank youâ she sobbed.
I caressed her back soothingly.
âMy number is in the bag. I put in a separate money for you to buy a phone. I donât expect you to call me every day or update me with your whereabouts. I only ask that you let me know that you are safe and wellâ I told her softly.
She nodded.
âAxel will despise me but I know that he shouldnât stop you either. Heâll get over it eventually. Just donât die. Pleaseâ I said.
Alissa slightly chuckled and nodded.
âBe well. Come back if you want to. Youâre always welcome hereâ I told her.
Alissa smiled nodded.
âThank youâ¦your highnessâ¦aunt Liviâ she said.
I smiled.
âIâll wait for your update. Take care of yourself, Alissaâ I said.
She nodded and hugged me again.
Then, I watched her walk away and disappear.
I sighed.
Iâm sorry, Axel.
Atleast, I did something to help your daughter survive.
I made my way back to the palace.
The party was still on going.
Everyone greeted me every time they saw me.
I made my way to Luan and clung onto his arm with a sad expression.
âWhatâs wrong?â Luan asked worried.
I just shook my head.
I canât tell him right now.
I kept thinking about Alissa.
She mustâve felt really restrained here to want to leave even before she turned 18.
Poor girl.
Suddenly, there was a commotion and I saw Luke make his way towards us.
His eyes were glowing and he rushed at me.
He sniffed and sniffed as his eyes widened.
My brows furrowed.
âWhat?â I said.
âWhere is she, mom?â he asked.
I looked at him confused.
âWhere is who?â I asked clueless.
âMy mate. Her scent is on you , momâ he pointed out.
My eyes widened.
Oh no.
