Livianaâs POV
âT-too lateâ the man choked out.
I saw red as I aggressively threw the man to the wall.
Then, I pressed him on the wall while holding his neck.
âWhat they fck do you mean?!â I growled angrily.
Deep inside, I felt nervous.
They couldnât possibly have Luke.
I know Luke is safe.
Right?
âY-you know very w-well what I m-meanâ he choked out.
Then, I stormed out of the room with Luan and Rainer behind me.
I was seeing red.
But at the same time, my heart was thumping inside of my chest.
I needed to get back to Luke.
I need to go back to my son.
As soon as we got out of the dungeon, Rainer shifted without a word and I got on his back before we sprinted back the palace.
Luan shifted as well and followed us behind.
My heart was beating rapidly inside of my chest.
No wonder I felt anxious.
They werenât directly targeting me.
They were targeting my son.
My jaw clenched.
It canât happen.
I wonât let anyone hurt Luke even if it kills me.
Rainer ran as fast as he could with me on his back.
As soon as we reached the palace, I didnât wait for Rainer to stop.
I just jumped off him and sprinted inside.
I didnât even care anymore if I was wearing a dress.
I just needed to make sure that Luke was safe.
Just by thinking about him being in danger makes me want to cry and breakdown.
I canât take it.
The guards inside the palace glanced at me with a confused look as I rushed upstairs to get to my room.
Then, I suddenly saw uncle Dante by the hallway making his way to my room.
Why isnât he with Luke and Kaley?
Uncle Dante turned around to look at my direction.
âYouâre backâ he said.
âWhy arenât you inside?â I asked as we both stood by the hallway.
âYou called for meâ he said with furrowed brows.
âWhat? I didnât call for you, uncleâ I said.
Both our eyes widened in realization as we rushed to my bedroom.
The door was locked and we had to break it open.
As soon as we opened the door, we saw Kaley on the bed but we didnât see Luke.
We rushed to her as I looked around to find Luke.
But he was nowhere to be found in the room.
We tried to shake Kaley awake but she was unconscious.
âShtâ uncle Dante cursed.
No.
I rushed to look in the bathroom.
In the closet.
Everywhere.
But Luke wasnât here anymore.
âGet Kaley to the infirmaryâ I quickly said and rushed to the balcony.
I jumped without any hesitation.
I shifted mid air and landed on my paws.
I can feel Amaraâs rage as well.
We ran to the woods searching for Lukeâs scent.
They couldnât have gotten far.
Fck.
I prayed multiple times to the moon goddess that nothing bad will happen to Luke.
Please.
Iâve already been through so much.
If I lose Luke, I wonât be able to take it anymore.
Iâd really lose it this time.
So pleaseâ¦
Iâm begging the moon goddess that Luke is safe.
Pleaseâ¦
Iâll do anything and everything.
Just pleaseâ¦.
I sniffed and searched here and there to catch a scent of Luke.
But I couldnât find it.
I couldnât find him.
I couldnât find any other scent of an outsider as well.
I was so close to having a mental breakdown.
But I couldnât give up.
Not until I know that Luke is safe and back to me.
Not until I can hug him in my arms and tell him itâs going to be okay.
He must be so scared.
Terrified even.
Luke is still so young and so small.
So vulnerable.
How can they be so cruel by taking him to take their revenge on me?
I started to blame myself.
It happened because of what I did years ago.
Now, my son is paying for it.
Noâ¦please.
I kept searching and searching until I eventually reached the end of the border.
I could already smell my men searching as well for their missing prince.
Just before I could get out of the border, I caught an unusual smell.
I immediately turned back and ran to that direction.
The strong kept getting stronger and stronger.
Then, I smelled b***d.
I quickened my pace.
Until I was finally able to hear growl, g****s and whimpers.
Finally, I reached a clearing.
I watched as a rogue came flying to a nearby tree beside me.
I turned to look at the person in the clearing.
I suddenly met eyes with a man.
He had red eyes, pale skin, and black hair.
But then, my eyes shifted behind him.
There sat my son wrapped up in a blanket with his eyes closed and his hands covering his ears.
Luke!
I turned to look at the man again and I saw him finish off the last rogue and threw it to the side.
The man looked at me and I growled at him.
My son opened his eyes.
âMommy!â Luke shouted.
I was ready to pounce at the strange man but even before I could do that, I froze in my place.
It wasnât in my own will.
I tried hard to move my limbs but I couldnât.
I felt like I was being held in place.
I growled angrily as the man stared at me.
Heâs scent wasnât that of a wolf.
Heâs no rogue either.
He suddenly picked up my son which made me angrier.
âIs that your mother?â the man asked Luke.
Luke nodded as he looked at me.
âThatâs my mommyâ Luke said innocently as he pointed at me.
The man looked at me again.
He tilted his head to the side as he looked at me.
âYouâre a bad mother for letting your son get kidnappedâ he said.
I growled at him again.
What does he know?
âYou have an attitude tooâ he pointed out.
I had enough of him.
My eyes glowed gold as I summoned my powers.
Veins started to come out of the ground and they quickly wrapped around his legs.
He looked at it and his brows furrowed.
Then, he looked at me with a raised brow.
âYouâre no ordinary wolfâ he said.
âIâm not. Now, let the pup goâ I delivered the message to him.
I donât know how I did it but I just did.
I saw his stunned expression.
He received the message.
âDid you just talked to me telepathically?â he said stunned.
âYes. Get over it and let him go before I dod something else that will surprise youâ I warned.
The man smirked.
âYour mother is quite something, kidâ the man said to Luke.
âMy mommy is amazingâ Luke said proudly with a smile.
The man let Luke down.
Luke immediately ran to me and hugged me.
âMommyâ he muttered.
I wanted to snuggle him but I still couldnât move.
âIâm not letting you off until you get these things off meâ the man said and pointed at the vines.
âAnd if you end up attacking us?â I accused.
The man chuckled in disbelief.
âI saved your pup. I didnât even expect to be thanked but this is beyond ungratefulâ he said.
I huffed.
They man rolled his eyes and looked at me.
Then, I was able to move.
I immediately snuggled Luke protectively.
My baby.
âArenât you planning to let me go now?â the man said.
I huffed.
I would keep him restrained but I donât think I should.
I lowered myself and nudged Luke to get on my back.
Once Luke was secured on my back, I started to let the vines retreat to the ground.
âBetterâ the man said.
âWho are you?â I asked through the link I established with him.
âWho I am is none of your businessâ he said with a shrug.
Then, he looked at Luke.
âTake care, pupâ he said to Luke.
Then, he looked at me again.
âYou tooâ he said.
Before I could reply, we heard rustling in the woods and it was followed by the scent of my men and I turned to look at that direction.
When I turned around to look at the man from earlier again, he was already gone.
His scent lingered for a bit then it was soon gone.
I was sure that he wasnât a werewolf.
His scent and awra was nothing that of wolf.
He wasnât a hunter either.
He didnât smell like a hunter or a human either.
His scent was too different.
But if heâs not a werewolf, a hunter or a human, what is he?
I havenât never met anyone quite like him.
And seeing how many rogues he killed, it doesnât seem like heâs anything to be messed with either.
My men finally reached us and saw the scene.
Luke held onto me in a hug.
âWeâre going back. Clean this upâ I mind linked my men and turned around to make my way back to the palace.
âLuke is safe with me. Weâre going back to the palaceâ I mind linked everyone else.
Luke kept his body close to mine.
I felt relieved to know that heâs safe and unharmed.
The goddess know what I wouldâve done if anything happened to him.
Though I feel confused with the being that I encountered earlier and saved Luke, I really couldnât care less.
All that mattered was Luke is safe.
Heâs safe.
My son is safe.
