Livianaâs POV
I fidgeted with my hands as I walked back and forth anxiously in front of the pack house.
âYouâre driving me mad, Livi. Stay still for a moment, will you?â El scolded me.
I frowned at him.
âWhatâs making you so nervous, anyway?â El said.
âMy son is comingâ I said.
âWe know. Thatâs why were all here, arenât we? Whatâs so nerve wracking about that? I thought you missed himâ he said.
âI do miss him. Iâm just nervous how heâll react because I changed my lookâ I said.
âYou look the same to meâ he said looking me up and down.
I sighed.
âWhen I left Halo, I had silver hair. I dyed my hair black before I got hereâ I said.
El raised a brow at me.
âYou used to have silver hair? Why? Was that some kind of phase? An identity crisis after you resurrected?â El teased.
I squinted my eyes at El and pinched him hard.
âAh! Ouch! Stop! That hurts!â he shouted in pain.
I laughed.
âYou deserve that painâ I said and let him go.
El frowned at me.
Then, he suddenly stopped.
âTheyâre hereâ he said.
I gulped and looked at the direction theyâll be coming from.
As soon as I saw the familiar car, I almost jumped in joy.
My son is here.
Iâll finally be able to see Luke again.
It hasnât even been a week but I just couldnât help but miss him so much.
We havenât been separated for such a long period of time.
The car stopped by the pack house and Rainer got off from the driverâs side.
Then, uncle Dante came out from the other side of the car and opened the door to the passenger seat.
Kaley came out first from the passenger side.
Then, Rainer reached inside of the car and I finally saw Luke as Rainer carried him in his arms.
Luke turned to look at my direction and our eyes met.
I saw his eyes sparkle as a smile formed on his face.
âMommy!â he squealed excitedly.
I sighed in relied.
Rainer put Luke down and he came running towards me.
I caught Luke in my arms and hugged him tightly.
âOh ghad. I miss you so much, babyâ I said hugging Luke in my arms.
âI missed you too, mommyâ he said with a pout as he teared up.
I held Lukeâs face lovingly.
âMommy, I cried every morning and every night because I couldnât see you. Nana, Auntie Kaley, and uncle Connor told me that you and uncle Rainer will be back as soon as you can but it still made me sadâ Luke said as he pouted.
âIâm sorry, baby. Did mommy take too long?â I cooed.
My son nodded.
I smiled at him and gave him a k**s.
âIâm sorry, buddy. I promise Iâm never leaving again, okay?â I said.
Luke smiled and nodded as he hugged me again.
Rainer came to our side.
âHappy?â Rainer said.
I nodded.
âVeryâ I told him.
Rainer smiled.
âLukeâ I called my son softly.
Luke looked at me.
âBaby, I need to introduce you to some really nice people, okay? Theyâre mommyâs family. Our familyâ I said.
Luke nodded and glanced behind me.
We turned to look at everyone and Luke looked at the shyly.
Everyone looked at my son in awe.
âPaâ I called.
Pa stepped closer with Madeline and Lizi.
âLuke, this is grandpa Dimitri, grandma Madeline and Liziâ I carefully introduced them.
Luke looked at the and shyly smiled.
âGrandpa Dimdim, grandma Madi and Liziâ Luke said.
I chuckled and nodded.
âExactly, buddyâ I said.
Luke giggled.
âHi there, budâ Pa greeted Luke.
Luke smiled at him.
âDo you want grandpa Dimdim to carry you?â Pa asked.
Luke glanced at me for permission and I nodded at him.
Luke nodded at Pa and reached out his hands for him to be held.
Pa held Luke in his arms and I watched as Pa stared at Luke as his eyes watered.
âWow, Liviâ he said and glanced at me as a tear fell from his eye.
I smiled at Pa.
âWhy are you crying, grandpa?â Luke asked innocently.
Pa looked at Luke again.
âNothing, bud. Grandpa is just happy to finally meet you, thatâs allâ he told Luke.
Luke smiled.
âIâm happy to meet you too, grandpa. Mommy has told me many stories about youâ Luke said cheerfully.
Pa smiled.
âDid she?â he said.
Luke nodded.
After that, we all went inside together.
I came out of the kitchen with a glass of water in my hand.
Then, I watched in the corner as everyone huddled over Luke.
âHeâs a spitting image of we know whoâ El said when he came to my side.
I nudged.
âDonât mention anything about Luan to Luke. I donât want my son to be too overwhelmed for the day. Heâs in a new environment and I donât want to add up to the changes that are happening in his lifeâ I said.
El shrugged and looked at Rainerâs direction.
Rainer was watching Luke thoroughly.
âYou mentioned that he was your bodyguard as well?â El said.
I nodded.
âIâm also guessing heâs quite close to Luke?â he said.
I nodded again.
âAside from me, Rainer is the one who Luke spends a lot of time withâ I said.
El nodded.
âAnd he didnât mistake him as his father?â he suddenly asked.
I almost chocked on my water.
El chuckled.
âIâm guessing Luke didâ he said.
I gave El a look that said âstay out of itâ.
El just shrugged.
âAnd whatâs the deal with Dante and that Kaley girl?â El asked curiously.
âTheyâre matesâ I said.
El looked at me wide eyed.
âTheyâre mates?! Dante has a mate? How is that possible?â he said.
I shrugged.
âAsk the moon goddess. Not meâ I said.
El scoffed.
âUnbelievable. So whereâs mine?â he said im disbelief.
I chuckled.
Then, El suddenly paused and I saw Pa and Edmond suddenly stand up.
They glanced at my direction with an unreadable expression.
My brows furrowed at them.
âWhat?â I asked.
El looked at me and gulped.
âI think Luan is hereâ he said.
My eyes widened.
I glanced at Rainerâs direction.
âHeâs here. Luan is hereâ I mind linked Rainer.
Rainer and I rushed Luke and I held him.
Then, the door suddenly burst open.
We all turned to look at the direction of the door.
There stood Luan.
Abe, Beau and Cassandra stood behind him.
Our eyes met and then his gaze shifted to Luke.
I gulped.
I saw how his eyes widened as he stared at Luke in my arms.
âLuanâ¦â I muttered.
Luam looked at me.
âMommy?â Luke said looking at me curiously.
I looked at my son nervously.
Then, I glanced at Rainer.
âIâm taking him inside the room. I think itâs time for both of you to talk properlyâ Rainer mind linked me as he took Luke in my arms.
âYouâll be fine, right?â he asked.
I nodded.
Rainer glanced at Luan before taking Luke away.
âLuanâ Pa came to Luanâs side.
Luan kept his eyes on me.
I bit my lower l*p.
Pa glanced back at me with a sigh.
âYou two, come with meâ Pa said and dragged Luan to the direction of the meeting room.
I followed behind.
Before I left, I saw El frozen in place as he looked at the direction of the Haymes siblings.
We arrived in the meeting room and Pa made Luan and I both go in together.
âYou two need to talk properlyâ he said.
Pa glanced at me and gave me an assuring smiled before leaving the room and closing the door.
I turned to look at Luan.
He was just staring at me without saying a word.
Luan looked tired.
Now that Iâm looking at him this closely, I can see how much heâs changed over the years.
âYou cameâ I blurted out.
Not a very smart conversation opener but okay.
âI didâ he said.
I gulped.
He had that expression in his face that was clearly asking for answers.
âGo ahead and ask anythingâ I told him.
Luan bit his lower l*p.
âI had a lot of questions when I was on my way here. But right now at this moment, I think I only have a fewâ he said.
My heart was thumping loudly inside of my chest.
I felt nervous and anxious.
âThat childâ¦.heâ¦heâs yours?â he said.
I gulped as I nodded.
I saw Luanâs fists clench.
âWhoâs the father?â he asked.
I took a deep breath as I struggled to say it.
Suddenly, it felt like the hardest thing to do.
I didnât know how Luan was feeling at the moment about me so I didnât know how heâd feel about Luke either.
âLivianaâ he said waiting for my answer.
I bot my lower l*p.
âYou. Itâs you, Luan. Youâre my sonâs fatherâ I finally said.
I saw how Luanâs tears started to stream down his face and he held on to the table for support as he fell on his knees.
I covered my mouth to stifle my sobs as my own tears escaped my eyes.
I watched while Luan cried.
âI have a sonâ Luan said as he cried.
âI have a sonâ he said again and looked at me.
âWe have a sonâ he said.
I nodded.
Luke is Luan and Iâs son.
Our son.
