Livianaâs POV
âHeyâ Rainer called softly.
I turned to look at him.
âHm?â I hummed.
âYou okay?â he asked.
I gave him a small smile.
âNot really but Iâll surviveâ I said with a shrug.
Rainer chuckled.
âWeâre stopping over for food. Do you want take outs or do you want to dine in?â he asked.
âTake outs sound betterâ I told him.
Rainer nodded.
I looked out the window of the car again.
I saw my reflection for a moment.
My hair was dyed black earlier this morning.
I figured now that Iâm back in Lunar, I might as well return my original look.
Hopefully, Luke doesnât get too surprised when he sees me again.
If he does, Iâll be sad.
And Iâll probably dye my hair back to silver for Luke.
I sighed and looked at the sceneries as we passed by.
We were driving to Crescent Moon.
As soon as we settled some of the important things in the palace of Lunar, I immediately left with Rainer to go back to Crescent Moon.
I havenât seen Luan since he left and I still worry about where he is and how heâs doing.
âAre you excited to go back?â Rainer asked to keep me distracted.
âExcited? Yes. Anxious? Also, yesâ I said with a slight chuckle.
âWhy?â he asked.
I looked at Rainer.
âRainer, itâs been 3 years since I disappeared. The last time they saw me was in a dream. A dream, Rainer. And it was months ago too. And in that dream, I told them to build a safe house without any type of other explanation whatsoeverâ I said.
Flashbackâ¦
Iâve officially turned 21 yesterday.
Time flew fast.
It only seemed like yesterday that I was just 18.
Now, Iâm 21 with a son and am bound to be crowned as Queen of a whole territory.
I continued to walk through the forest until I reached a meadow.
I went to the center and sat there.
It was quiet and peaceful.
The moon lit up beautifully along with the stars.
I sat down in the center and crossed my legs.
I needed to do something before I go back to Lunar with men and take over the throne.
I closed my eyes as I took a deep breath.
I let my mind take me elsewhere.
A place where I needed to be.
When I opened my eyes, I was already in the forest.
I held my silver hair and closed my eyes again.
When I opened them, my color changed back to black like it originally was.
I stood up and started walking where my feet would take me.
Then I saw someone in a clearing and I made my way there.
The person turned to look at my direction.
His eyes widened as he saw me.
âLiviâ¦â he muttered.
âElâ I said with a smile.
I saw how he teared up as he made his way towards me.
He immediately pulled me into a hug and cried on my shoulder.
I caressed his back soothingly.
âWe miss you so muchâ he cried.
I bit my lower l*p as I forced myself not to cry.
âWhy did you have to leave us? Canât you just come back? Please?â he sobbed.
I hugged El tighter.
Iâve seen El cry many times.
But not like this.
He sounded so broken.
He was in so much pain and I could feel it too.
And it hurt more to know that Iâm the reason.
âElâ I called him softly.
El looked at me.
I wiped the tears on his face.
âIâm sorry that you all had to go through this kind of painâ I said.
âBut listen to me first, okay?â I said.
El sniffed and nodded.
âA few months from now, something big will happenâ I started.
âI need you, the people in Crescent Moon and all the packs you can reach to do something before this said eventâ I continued.
El gave me a curious look but continued to listen.
âI need all of you to build a safe house. A safe house for the pack. I need all of you to provide supplies as well for a whole month for everyone. Everything youâll need to survive for a whole month in a safe house. Then, mask your scentsâ I told him.
âWhy?â he asked.
I looked at El in the eyes.
âDo you trust me?â I asked back.
El nodded.
âGood. I need all of you to stay in the safe house a day before the day of my passing until the day that someone will come by name of Rainer Black. Until that man comes, do not leave the safe house and stay hiddenâ I said.
El nodded again.
âBe safeâ I said as I placed my forehead on his as I closed my eyes and a tear fell from my eye.
âI miss all of you tooâ I said and opened my eyes.
When I opened them, I was back in the meadow as Rainer stared back at me.
âYou didnât wait for meâ he said with a pout.
I chuckled as I wiped a tear away.
âIâve finishedâ I told him and he helped me stand up.
Rainer gave me a small assuring smile.
âYou did goodâ he said and gave me a pat on the head.
I gave him back a small smile.
End of Flashbackâ¦
âAnd?â he said.
I frowned at him.
âA supposedly dead person appeared in their dream. Suddenly, Iâm on my way to see them without any heads up. How does this not sound weird to you?â I said.
Rainer chuckled.
âI think all the matters now is youâre alive. And that youâre coming back to them. Why would you be anxious about anything else when youâre all that matters to them?â he said.
I sighed.
âI donât know. Maybe itâs because Iâll never know how theyâll reactâ I said.
âAre you really worried that theyâve forgotten about you already? Or maybe theyâve already moved on with their lives?â he suddenly asked.
I pursed my lips as I looked away.
âOf course notâ I lied.
Maybe I was thinking of it a little.
Rainer chuckled.
âYouâre an outstanding leader, an amazing mother and a very skilled fighter but you will always be a bad liarâ Rainer said.
I pouted at him and he laughed.
âIâm sure they miss you every single day, Livianaâ he assured me.
I sighed.
Why am I suddenly feeling this way?
âItâs going to be fine, Livianaâ he assured me again.
I nodded.
I ended up falling asleep inside the car.
When I woke up, it was already dark.
âHeyâ Rainer called me softly as he opened the car door.
I looked in front and saw a hotel.
âWeâre staying here for the night. Weâll arrive in Crescent Moon first thing in the morningâ he said.
I nodded and got out of the car.
Rainer already booked a room so we made our way there.
We only booked one room with two beds since Rainer would refuse to stay in a separate room in a foreign place like this.
I washed up first and went to bed.
But I couldnât exactly sleep anymore.
Rainer got out of the bathroom all dressed up with a towel on his wet hair.
âCanât sleep?â he said.
I nodded and looked beside me.
âLuke isnât beside meâ I said.
âDo you think Luke is sleeping soundly without me by his side?â I suddenly asked.
Rainer sat on his bed beside mine.
âI refuse to answer that question. I donât want to lie and I donât want you to worry eitherâ he said.
I chuckled.
âI miss Lukeâ I told him.
âI do tooâ he said.
Rainer grabbed my blanket and tucked me in.
âSleep, Liviana. You need itâ he told me and planted a k**s on my forehead.
I sighed and nodded.
âIâm sure Luke is safe. Youâll see him again soonâ he assured me.
I nodded again.
âGoodnight, Livianaâ be said.
âGoodnight, Rainerâ I said.
I closed my eyes to fall asleep.
I woke up after a few hours when Rainer and I had to go back the road.
Just before dawn, we reached the path to Crescent Moon.
My heart pounded inside of my chest.
âNervous?â he said.
âCan you please stop paying attention to me for a few minutes please?â I said anxiously.
Rainer laughed.
âNo can do, your highnessâ he teased.
I huffed.
âYouâll be fineâ he said.
It took us a few more minutes to arrive by the gates.
Rainer and I got off.
The gates were locked completely without the guards to guard the outside of the packs.
I stared at the locks and it was soon engulfed in flames and was turned into ash.
âNiceâ Rainer said with a chuckle.
We got inside the cae again and drove inside until we reached the pack house.
Then, I gave Rainer a map.
âThis is the location of the safe house. Should I just come with you?â I asked him.
Rainer shook his head.
âIâll manage. Just stay here until I come back with themâ he said.
I nodded.
Rainer got off the car and I watched him disappear into the woods.
I took out a photograph from my pocket.
It was a picture of Luke and I.
Itâs only been a few days and itâs already driving me crazy.
I touched the photograph.
How I wish Luan was with Luke and I.
But now, Iâm not too sure about us being a whole family after Luan left.
Does he still love me?
Or has he come to hate me after everything he found out?
I sighed and hugged the photograph.
Ghad.
This is driving me mad.
I donât know how long I was in the car but I got off when I felt like being suffocated inside.
I sat by the car hood as I waited for Rainer to come back.
Then, I heard the rustling coming from the woods.
I turned my head to that direction.
I saw the people from Crescent Moon.
I saw Pa, Edmond, Theresa, El, Ellie and many more familiar faces.
Their eyes widened when they saw me.
I bit my lower as I made my way to them.
âLivi!â Ellie squealed as she ran to me.
We met half way and I caught her in my arms.
Oh ghad.
âLivi!â El shouted as well as he ran to us and hugged us.
El looked at me as tears started to fall from his eyes.
âItâs you. Itâs really youâ he said.
I nodded.
Then, I looked at their back and saw Pa as he stared at me while he teared up.
âLiviâ he muttered and rushed to hug me.
I hugged Pa back tightly.
Iâm home.
