Liviana’s POV

“Your Highness, everything is already prepared and so are our men” Rolan said.

I nodded as I looked at my watch.

“We leave in an hour” I said.

Rolan nodded.

“Liviana”

I turned to look and saw my dad, my grandpa, uncle Dante and Rainer coming my way.

They were all already dressed in their armors.

“We leave in an hour” I informed them.

They nodded.

“Aren’t you going to prepare?” dad asked with a raise brow.

“I’m going to meet the moon goddess first” I said.

They glanced at one another except Rainer.

Rainer only looked at me.

“Rainer” I said.

“I’m coming with you” he said.

I nodded.

“I won’t be too long” I said and gave my dad, my grandpa and uncle Dante a k**s on the cheek before leaving.

Rainer came to my side and we left.

We made our way to the woods.

“What are you planning to do?” Rainer asked curiously.

I glanced at him.

“I’m going to ask the moon goddess for something” I told him.

“What is it?” he asked.

“Oh you’ll all know soon enough” I said.

Rainer chuckled.

“Is everyone else in the palace already in the safe house?” I asked Rainer.

Rainer nodded.

“Yes. Everyone was moved to the safe house” he told me.

“And Luke?” I asked.

“He’s also already in the safe house with Kaley and your grandmother” he said then glanced at me.

“He’s looking for you, Liviana” he said.

I sighed and nodded.

“I’ll go there before we leave. I just need to finish all these preparations so I don’t have anything else to worry about” I said.

Today was the day that we’ll be leaving for Lunar.

The day that I’ll finally claim the throne.

Rainer came back to Halo a few days ago.

Everything was already in place in Lunar and our men were ready for anything.

We needed to make our move as soon as we can.

And it just so happened that today is that day.

We’ve been preparing for this for almost 2 years.

And I’ve been waiting for this for 3.

By the time that I step on Lunar, it will also be the same day that I suddenly ‘disappeared’.

I will appear before the people in Lunar after exactly 3 years after my disappearance.

I can only imagine the look on that excuse for a king; King Luis.

He will pay for what he did to me.

For what he did to my parents.

For what he did to my mate and I.

And for what he did to Luan’s mother.

He’s worst than a monster.

He doesn’t deserve to live.

But he doesn’t deserve to die easily either.

I would want him to suffer.

I want him to suffer for a long long time until the suffering drives him mad.

I want him to hurt the way Luan and I did.

I want him to hurt like my parents did.

I will make him hurt.

I’ll make sure of it.

We reached a clearing in the woods and stopped.

I glanced at Rainer.

“I’m going” I told him.

Rainer nodded.

I closed my eyes as I took a deep breath.

I felt my feet lift off the ground as I opened my eyes.

My eyes were glowing bright gold as I looked up the sky.

Then, the sky suddenly changed.

I lowered myself back to the ground and my eyes returned to its original blue color.

I looked around.

I was in the spirit realm in the meadows.

I walked through the meadow as I looked for the moon goddess.

I searched here and there for her.

Normally, I could only go here when the moon goddess decides that she wants to see me.

But today was a different case.

I was the one who wanted to see her.

I needed to make a deal with her.

A very important one.

“Liviana?”

I turned to look and saw a familiar wolf.

Since I stayed here for a long time, I can recognize a lot of the beings here.

“Are you looking for the moon goddess?” the wolf asked.

I nodded.

“I am. Do you know where she is?” I asked.

The wolf nodded.

“Follow me” the wolf said.

I nodded and followed the wolf.

We made our way through the forest until we reached the river.

There I saw the moon goddess.

I turned to look at the wolf.

“Thank you” I said giving it pat.

It gave me a nod and left.

I made my way to the moon goddess.

“Moon goddess” I called.

The moon goddess turned to look at me.

“Liviana” she said a little stunned to see me.

“Hi” I greeted softly.

“What are you doing here, sweetie?” she asked and gave me a hug.

“Aren’t you and your people preparing to leave for Lunar?” she said.

I nodded.

“We are. But I came here to see you before we left” I told her.

“Why? Is everything okay? Do you need anything?” she asked.

I nodded again.

“Yes I do need something” I told her.

“What is it?” she asked.

I took a deep breath as I looked into her eyes.

“I want to make a deal. A wish rather. Whatever you might call it” I said.

The moon goddess looked at me curiously.

“What wish?” she asked.

“After I claim the throne in Lunar, I want my mother back” I said with determination.

The moon goddess looked stunned at my words.

“Even if it takes until the day when I get crowned, it’s fine. But I want her back on Earth with me. It doesn’t matter if she comes back as a guardian, a human or a wolf. I just want her back with me and my family” I told her.

The moon goddess just stared at me for a moment.

“Please” I begged.

“21 years. It’s been 21 years since she came here to be your guardian. I want her back with me and my family. Please” I said.

“Why should I?” the moon goddess asked.

I looked at the moon goddess seriously.

“Because I’m willing to do all of this for you. I was willing to put up with anything and everything to fulfill the fate that you’ve brought upon me” I started.

“I lost a lot of my loved ones in this process. I even lost my self at some point. I had a choice and I chose this. Even if it meant risking all that I had. Now, all I’m asking for is to give me and my family a chance to be happy and complete again” I told her.

The moon goddess didn’t speak for a moment.

“I’ll see what I can do” she said.

“Your mother no longer has a wolf and she’s been the guardian for so long. I’ll need time to figure things out” she said.

I nodded.

“Atleast promise me that you’ll do something about it” I said.

The moon goddess sighed and nodded.

Then, we looked at each other for moment.

“Be careful” she said.

I nodded.

“I will” I said and bowed my head.

Then, I looked up at the sky again.

My eyes turned bright gold once more as I got lifted off the ground.

Then, the sky changed.

My eyes turned back to it original blue and I felt myself fall.

I squeaked in surprise but Rainer caught me.

“You okay?” Rainer asked worried as he carried me bridal style.

I nodded as I blushed in embarrassment.

It was mg first time going in and out of the spirit realm all by myself.

Rainer put me down.

“Come on. We don’t have much time. You still have to see Luke before we go” he told me as he held my hand.

I nodded and Rainer pulled me towards the direction of the safe house.

We arrived there in no time.

We made our way inside and down below. At first glance, you wouldn’t see anyone, but then the guards lurking in the dark came out to bow their heads in respect to me.

I gave them a nod.

The guards opened up a silver door and we came in.

It was all underground.

A safe space that we had built for our people in case Lunar decides to strike back in any form.

The facilities here were complete and there was food that can last everyone for a whole month if needed.

It was built perfectly to protect our people.

Rainer led the way as he still held my hand.

He knew where Luke was because he was the one who brought him here in the first place.

We arrived in front of a smaller silver door and Rainer opened it.

I saw Luke playing with his toys in the room.

The room was well decorated like his own to make him feel at ease while he was here.

Luke lifted his head up and our eyes met.

“Mommy!” he said and stood up quickly.

Luke hurried over to me and I caught him in my arms and hugged him tightly.

My heartached when I realized that I was going to leave him behind.

“Where did you go, mommy?” he asked innocently.

“I just needed to do some important things, baby” I told him.

Then Luke glanced at Rainer.

“Uncle Rainer looks like a knight, mommy. Why is he wearing that?” Luke asked innocently.

I glanced at Rainer and chuckled.

“It’s complicated, baby. Mommy will explain it to you some other time, okay? For now…” I said and sat on the bed inside as I put Luke on my lap.

“Let mommy tell you a story” I said.

I grabbed Luke’s favorite storybook from the side and started to read it to him.

Once I was finished, Luke yawned sleepily.

I looked at him and held his face.

“Mommy needs to leave for some time, okay, baby? Can you behave with aunt Kaley and grandma while I’m gone?” I said.

Luke nodded sleepily as he laid his head on my chest.

“Come back quickly, mommy” Luke said before falling asleep.

My heart clenched as I hugged him close to me.

I planted a k**s on the top of his head and placed him carefully on the bed.

“I’ll be back as soon as I can, buddy. I promise” I said and gave Luke a k**s on the forehead.

I turned to look at grandma and Kaley.

They had a worried look on their face.

I made my way to them and hugged them.

“Please look after Luke for me. And please be safe” I told them.

They nodded.

Then, I left.
