Blakeâs POV
I tried calling Livi but she hasnât answered my calls once.
She didnât go to school today and she didnât even tell us anything or atleast called or text us which is very unlikely of her.
El didnât come to school too and they live in the same house.
I drove my car to where Livi lives. Itâs been a while since I last came there since Livi preferred coming over to our house and not the other way around.
Iâm Blake Smith, 18 years old and one of Livianaâs bestfriend since we were kids. We basically grew up together.
My parents used to work for her dad and we became close being the same age and all.
Iâve known Liviana most of my life and I know her like the back of my hands.
Sheâs not much of an extrovert but sheâs a great friend and an amazing person over all.
Sheâs kind, caring and loyal.
If Iâm being honest, Iâve always liked her ever since we were little.
She used to protect me and stay by my side when I was a weakling. She was ready to sacrifice herself for me if it meant I wouldnât get hurt.
I really worked on myself to changed. I learned to fight and defend myself, my family and Livi if I had too.
Sheâs family too.
After driving for I donât know how long, I finally arrived at a big gate and a guard approached my car.
âUhm hey. Iâm looking for Liviâ I told the guard. He looked at me for a moment then looked to the front without a word.
âIâm her bestfriendâ I added. He then turns to look at me then motions one of the other guard to open the gate.
âThanksâ I said and drove in.
As I parked my car in front of Liviâs home, El comes out of the house. Or should I say mansion considering how big it is.
âHey, Blakeâ he greeted and he gave me a pat on the back when I got out the car.
âWhat brings you here?â he asked.
âYou guys didnât go to school without a notice. Whereâs Livi?â I asked.
âUpstairs in her room. Iâll go call her while you stay in the living roomâ he said and we went inside.
A little girl welcomes us shyly.
âEllieâ I called her softly. Sheâs Elâs little sister. Sheâs grown up more than I anticipated.
âHiâ she greets shyly.
âCome hereâ I said softly with a smile. She approached me carefully.
âMy name is Blake. Do you still remember me? You were really little when I last saw youâ I told her.
âHi Blake. How are you?â she asked shyly.
âIâm good. How are you?â I asked back. She smiled.
âIâm really good too. Thank you for askingâ she said politely. I smiled.
âI like your dressâ I complimented. She giggled.
âThank you. My mommy bought it for meâ she said.
âBlakeâ I turn to see Livi coming downstairs, fresh from the shower with a towel on her shoulder and in her oversized shirt and leggings.
I stood up and immediately hugged her.
âYou werenât at school and you havenât answered any of my calls. I was so worriedâ I said. She starts to caress my back and chuckle.
âI forgot my phone was dead. I wasnât feeling good today so I couldnât go to school. Sorryâ she explained.
I touched her forehead worried.
âHow are you feeling now?â I asked worried. She gave me a small smile.
âI feel a lot better now. Did anything important happen at school?â she asked.
âWell, it was announced that there will be a camping trip on Wednesday to Fridayâ I told her. She raised a brow.
âThatâs so suddenâ she said. I nodded.
âI know right?â I said and we both chuckled.
âOkay. Iâm going to school tomorrow, anywayâ she said.
âAre you really okay now?â I asked her. She nodded.
âDefinitelyâ she said confidently.
I slightly ruffled her hair.
Then we sat down in the living room with Ellie on Liviâs lap.
âMom prepared snacksâ El came in with two plates of sandwiches.
âThank you, mrs. Wright!â I said and Elâs mother peeks from the kitchen.
âYouâre welcome, Blakeâ she said with a smile.
I give the first piece to Livi which she gives Ellie then I gave her another one and we started eating.
âIs Katie upset with me?â she suddenly asked.
âI think sheâs more worried than upsetâ I assured her. She sighs.
âYou think so?â she asked. I nodded.
âI know soâ I said.
We weâre all eating and chatting when Livi suddenly froze for a moment.
âYou okay?â I asked her worried again. She gave me a small smile.
âI just remembered something. Iâll step out for a momentâ she said. I nodded in understanding.
âSo, Blake. You still like Livi?â El suddenly asks. I chuckle..
âWhat makes you think that?â I ask him.
âWell, dude itâs too obviousâ he said grinning. I laughed.
âHow about you?â I asked him back.
âWhat about me?â he said.
âYou used to like Livi tooâ I said remembering how when we were kids, weâd fight over who Liviâs partner would be.
We would always be rejected by her because she always chose Katie.
It was the funniest.
âWell, you can say that weâre still in the same boatâ he tells me and we both chuckle.
âIâm giving up soon thoughâ he suddenly says as he leans back his head staring at the ceiling.
âWhy?â I ask curiously. He gives me a small smile.
âSheâs not for meâ he simply tells me.
Then my phone rings and I answer it.
âEl, arenât you going home for dinner?â itâs my mom.
âI am, mom. Iâll head out soon. Iâm just going to say goodbye to Liviâ I told her.
âYouâre at Liviâs?â she asked.
âYes, momâ I said.
âOh okay, then. Take your time and tell Livi I said hiâ she said.
âOkay, mom. Iâll see you laterâ I said and we hang up.
âThat was my mom. I gotta go nowâ I told El. He nodded and stood up.
âIâll walk you outâ he said. I nodded.
âI need to go say goodbye to Liviâ I said as we got out and my eyes wandered around looking for Livi.
Then, I spot her talking to someone familiar.
Is that Luan Grey?
âUhhh Blake. I think you should go nowâ El said nervously.
âI will. I just need to tell Liviâ I said and started walking to where Livi is.
âI donât thinkââ
âLivi!â I called for her and both Livi and Luan looked at me.
How does he know Livi?
Luan glared at me as if I did something wrong as I approached them.
âYou know each other?â I asked Livi as I reached them. Livi glanced at Luan.
âWe have a class together. Heâs my partner for a project thatâs allâ Livi said. I nodded and glanced at Luan as he stared at me with a frown.
âIâm going home now. Also, mom said hiâ I told her and gave her a hug. I heard a growl then Livi moves turning her back to Luan and getting between us.
âIâll come with you. I wanted to see your parents tooâ she suddenly told me.
âOh okay. How bout him though?â I said pertaining to Luan. She looks at him.
âWe have nothing else to talk about, right? Thanks for coming but you really should go home now since itâs lateâ she said and doesnât wait for him to answer before pulling me to my car.
I look back at Luan and for for a second, I thought his eyes glowed green.
