Livianaâs POV
Rainer and I made our way to the pack clinic.
I glanced at Rainer and chuckled.
He still had that frown on his face.
âDo we really have to visit him? You said you were sure that heâs fine because you healed himâ Rainer whined.
I nodded.
âYes heâs physically fine. I did crash his ego though. That hurts worse than any deep woundâ I said with a shrug.
Rainer was still sulky.
He doesnât seem like he hates his father though so thatâs a good thing.
This displeasure is a temporary thing, Iâm guessing.
Sometimes, itâs normal for parents to have different opinions on different matters.
Itâs absolutely fine.
âYou canât possibly be keeping tabs on your father for me, right? If thatâs the case, Iâm going to feel really guilty and Iâll blame myself every nightââ I tried guilt tripping him a little.
âIâm not falling for it, Livianaâ he said.
I laughed.
He got me.
Rainer sighed.
Iâm sure he needed a little more time to sulk a bit but I donât want tomorrow to come knowing that Rainer and his father are not on good terms just because I was trying to prove his father wrong.
Iâm not that childish.
They can do it after my princess coronation tomorrow instead.
âTell me, Rainerâ I said.
Rainer looked at me.
âWhat kind of relationship do you have with your father?â I asked curiously.
Rainer sighed.
âWe have an okay relationshipâ he simply answered.
I frowned.
âYouâre not sleeping in Luke and Iâs room tonightâ I said acting petty.
Rainer laughed.
âIâm kiddingâ he said.
I looked at him again.
Rainer took a deep breath.
âAs a kid, I used to do everything to please my fatherâ he started.
âHe was one of the most respected warriors in Halo. I wanted to follow in his footsteps. I wanted to be like him. I wanted to be a warrior too. I wanted to be strong and I wanted to be respectedâ he continued.
Rainer sighed.
âI spent all my life proving myself to him. I trained day and night. I did everything I can to earn my position as the head warrior of Halo. But nothing I ever did or achieved was enough for himâ he said.
There was a hint of sadness in his voice.
âI even lost my mate because I was too busy proving to him that I was good enough. That time, it was all that mattered. Proving myself to himâ he said.
I felt pain in his words.
âI donât think I ever have those warm father and son moments with my father, Liviana. The kind of relationship that I have with my father is filled with attempts pf trying to make him proud and failing. Itâs nothing else than thatâ he said sadly.
I stopped at my track.
Rainer looked back at me.
I just looked at Rainer for a moment.
âIâm sorryâ I felt the need to say.
Rainer gave me a small smile.
âItâs fineâ he said.
I just kept staring at him.
Then, I bit my lower l*p and gulped.
âRainerâ I said.
âYeah?â he replied.
I took a deep breath.
âIâ¦.Iâm proud of youâ I said.
Rainer looked at me without a word.
I looked away as I flushed red.
âIâm proud of what youâve achieved in life. Iâm proud of who you are today. Iâ¦Iâm just proud of youâ I said not looking at him.
I wasnât embarrassed.
I mean everything.
But maybe I was feeling shy?
I didnât even know I could feel shy.
Since when did I ever feel shy?
Rainer made his way to me and before I could even say anything else, he pulled me into a hug.
I tensed up a bit.
What am I supposed to do in this situation?
Rainer placed his chin on the top of my head as he hugged me.
âThank youâ he muttered.
I smiled and nodded.
Then, Rainer looked at me.
âThat means more to me than you thinkâ he said with a smile.
âYou deserve the recognitionâ I told him.
Rainer smiled.
After that, we went straight to the pack clinic.
âYour majesty, captainâ the nurse greeted us.
âIs my father awake yet?â Rainer asked the nurse.
âYes, captain. He woke up only a few moments agoâ the nurse said.
Rainer nodded.
We made our way to the room where Rainerâs father was.
Then, we entered the room.
Rainerâs father turned to look at us.
He immediately frowned when he saw me.
âHow are you feeling, Rolan?â I asked.
âIâm feeling just fine, your majestyâ he simply answered.
I nodded.
âGood to knowâ I said and glanced at Rainer.
Rainer was looking at his father with obvious displeasure.
I nudged Rainer and gave him a look.
He sighed.
âYouâre not planning on staying here for the night, right?â Rainer said.
âObviously notâ Rolan said.
âAll I need to know is that youâre fineâ I said and tapped on Rainerâs shoulder.
âRainer, Iâll wait outside for you. You can take your time talking to your fatherâ I told Rainer.
Rainer furrowed his eyebrows at me but I only gave him a look.
I opened the door and looked back at Rolan.
âI donât hold grudges, Rolan. I just wanted to let you know thatâ I said and left the room.
I stayed outside and waited for Rainer until he finished talking to his dad.
I kept myself busy by talking with the nurse in the pack clinic.
After a while, Rainer came out.
âReady to go?â I asked.
Rainer nodded.
I said goodbye to the nurse and Rainer and I made our way back to the palace.
âHad a good talk with your father?â I asked.
âIt was fineâ he said with a shrug.
I chuckled.
âIâll let you off this timeâ I said.
Rainer chuckled.
We arrived in the palace without any more arguments of any sort.
Luke and I prepared for bed since it was an important day tomorrow.
Then, there was a knock on the door and my grandparents peaked in.
âGetting ready for bed?â grandma said.
I nodded.
âIs everything okay?â I asked.
They nodded.
âWe just wanted to check up on you thatâs allâ grandpa explained.
I chuckled.
âI didnât cause any more troubleâ I said.
They both sighed.
Luke and I went to them and gave them a hug goodnight.
âGoodnight, grandpa. Goodnight, grandmaâ I said and waved them off.
I sighed when they were out of sight.
It took a lot of convincing and explaining earlier to my grandparents of what had happened.
It was the first time that I had seen grandpa like that since I came here.
I surely wasnât looking forward to it ever again.
Rainer came out of the bathroom while I was tucking Luke in.
âYour grandparents came?â he asked.
I nodded and tucked myself in beside Luke.
âYeah. They were just checking if their granddaughter got into trouble again before her special dayâ I said.
Rainer chuckled.
âGoodnight, Rainerâ I said.
âGoodnight, Livianaâ he said back.
I laid beside Luke and went to sleep.
I only woke up when I felt someone slightly tapping me.
âYour majesty, itâs time for your big dayâ
I fluttered my eyes open and immediately saw Rainer.
Rainer flashed me a smile.
âGood morning, princess. Your guests will be coming in half an hourâ he said.
My eyebrows furrowed as I sleepily sat up.
Luke was still sleeping beside me.
âGuests?â I said.
Rainer nodded.
âYes. Youâre grandmother asked some people to come for your aid for this special dayâ he said.
I huffed and looked to my side where Luke was sleeping.
âI have 30 minutes?â I asked.
Rainer nodded.
I slightly g*****d as I got off bed.
I gave Luke a k**s and went straight to the bathroom.
I went to the shower and bathed.
I did everything I needed to do.
I put on a robe and got out.
I saw Rainer holding my sleeping son.
âIâm transferring Luke to his room. Kaley will be in charge of him while you get ready. Weâll come get him after youâre all readyâ Rainer told me.
I nodded and made my way to Luke.
I gave Luke another k**s.
âTheyâll be here in 5â Rainer told me.
I nodded and he went out with Luke while I stayed in my bedroom.
I didnât bother change because I knew that Iâll change later anyway as well.
A few minutes later, someone knocked on the door and it opened.
âYour majesty, you have visitorsâ a helper said.
I nodded.
âLet them inâ I said.
The helper opened the door and a few females came in with a ton of luggage.
They shouldâve brought a whole salon at this rate.
âYour majestyâ they bowed to me.
I gave them an acknowledging nod.
They motioned me to sit down on a stool.
I did just that.
Rainer came inside the room and I saw how the visitors ogled over him.
I chuckled.
âWeâre going to start now, your majestyâ one of them told me.
I nodded.
âOkayâ I said.
They started on doing my makeup and hair.
Rainer just sat on a love seat while watching me.
âDonât you have anything else to do, Rainer? Iâm sure you need to prepare for today tooâ I pointed out in the middle of my makeover session.
âI already showered before I woke you up. My clothes for today are already in your closet. I can get dressed before you laterâ Rainer said with a shrug.
I chuckled.
He has better things to do but refuses to do it.
Iâm not even a child that needs looking after.
âAfter this day, I want you to go back to your original head warrior dutiesâ I told Rainer.
Rainer frowned.
âI am doing my dutiesâ he said.
âI can handle myself just fine now, Rainer. Luke is being looked after Kaley and grandma as well. You can go back to being the head warrior from tomorrow onâ I said.
Rainer gave me a sad look.
I sighed.
âLetâs talk about it after the ceremonyâ I said.
Rainer sighed.
The people doing my makeover continued with what they were doing.
After who knows how long, they finished.
âOh my! You look beautiful, your majestyâ
âYouâre gorgeous, your majesty!â
âWhat a beauty!â
They flocked over me.
I tried not to frown.
âCan I change now?â I said.
âOh of course, your majestyâ they said and guided me to go to my walk in closet.
I saw Rainer get out from there but I doubt he saw me because I was surrounded.
We went inside the walk in closet and the women helped me get in gown.
It was a beautiful blue gown with golden details.
It had a detail that hugged my body well and a ball gown detail on the back and sides.
I looked at myself in the mirror.
My eye glowed gold for a moment.
The gown complimented both my eye color.
âHer highness had it specially made for youâ the woman beside me said.
I smiled.
Of course.
We made our way out of the walk in closet.
I saw Rainerâs back as soon as I got out.
He was wearing a navy blue tuxedo.
Then, Rainer turned to look at me.
His eyes slightly widened as he looked at me in awe.
âWowâ he said.
I chuckled.
âShould we get Luke now?â I said.
Rainer didnât answer as he continued to stare at me.
I snapped my fingers at him.
âEarth to Rainer Black. Yoohoâ I teased.
Rainer looked at me and chuckled awkwardly as his face turned red.
I laughed.
âLetâs goâ I said.
Rainer nodded.
âThank youâ I said to the people who helped me.
They gave me a bow.
After that, we went to fetch Luke and I was briefed about the ceremony.
Now, Iâm currently waiting to make my entrance and be introduced to the people of Halo.
âYou okay?â Rainer asked.
He was holding Luke in his arms.
I nodded.
âIâm fineâ I said.
Rainer smiled.
âDonât worry. Youâll make a wonderful princessâ he said and gave me a wink.
I chuckled.
âIntroducing to you, Princess Liviana White of Halo!â I heard my cue.
âGo get themâ Rainer encouraged.
I smiled as the doors opened.
I made my way to the front.
I immediately saw the people below as they looked up at where I am.
I stopped in front with my head held high.
âWith the power vested in me, I now crown her majesty, Liviana White as the first princess of Haloâ the man said and put the crown on my head.
I am nowâ¦officially the Princess of Halo.
