Livianaâs POV
I slowly flattered my eyes open.
âLivianaâ Rainer rushed to my side.
I tried to push myself up but I felt a sudden pain shot through my right shoulder.
I glanced at it and saw that it was bandage.
Oh yeah.
I almost forgot I was actually injured in the match.
âLivianaâ Rainer said as he held me.
âIâm fineâ I assured him.
Rainer frowned at me.
I ignored it.
âHow long was I out?â I asked.
Rainer sighed.
â3 hours, I thinkâ he said.
I nodded.
âDid my grandparents see me?â I asked.
âJust your grandmotherâ he said.
I sighed in relief.
âDid you tell her what happened?â I asked again.
âNo. I couldnât tell her yet. I said that youâd want to be the one to explainâ Rainer explained.
âWhereâs grandpa?â I asked further.
âHe went out to settle some matters. He hasnât come back yetâ he told me.
I nodded.
âGoodâ I said.
Then, I struggled to get out of bed.
âWhere are you going?â Rainer asked and stopped me.
âIâm going to shower before dinnerâ I said.
Rainer just sighed and helped me go to the bathroom.
âDonât lock the door. You might suddenly faint inside without a warningâ he told me.
I chuckled.
âThe reason I fainted was I used to much energy on healing your father. Iâve regained that energy now so you donât have to worryâ I explained.
Rainer stared at me for a moment.
âThatâs why you fainted?â he asked.
I nodded.
âWhen I use my healing powers, it takes up some of my energy along with my own life for. Since I havenât used my them for so long, my body is adjusting to itâ I explained further.
âThen, why did you use it when you know that it was dangerous?â he asked with furrowed eyebrows.
âThen, did you want to watch your father die in front of your eyes?â I asked back.
Rainer looked away.
I gave him a pat.
âItâs not that serious. I just need to practice a bit more in using my energy instead of my own life force to heal someoneâ I assured him.
Rainer sighed.
I went inside the bathroom and closed the door.
I didnât lock it just so Rainer wouldnât worry too much that Iâd pass out inside the bathroom.
Although, the idea of getting exposed butt naked and passed out on the floor seemed like an awful scene both for Rainer and I.
Yikes.
I faced the bathroom mirror and slowly removed my clothing.
Someone had already changed me into clean clothes.
It was probably after I was treated.
I can tell that it was done by a professional.
Iâm sure Rainer wouldnât let himself treat me in this condition.
Then, I carefully removed the bandage on my wound.
I winced a little when I felt the stinging pain.
Once I removed it, I stared at it for a moment.
It was healing well.
But I needed to fully heal it before I face my grandparents.
I wouldnât want them to go livid in such a small matter.
Iâm still alive, arenât I?
Like I said, Iâm being extra careful these days for Luke.
I stepped inside the shower and opened the shower.
I let myself soak in the water for a while.
I closed my eyes.
I began to feel the water heal my wound.
I just kept my eyes close as the cool sensation took over my body.
After a while, I looked at my wound.
It was already fully healed.
Itâs like it was never even there in the first place.
âLiviana?â Rainer knocked on the door.
âIâm fine, Rainer. Iâm still aliveâ I said with a chuckle.
I finished up washing my body quickly and wore my robe before going out.
I quickly went to my walk in closet to dress up.
I chose something sleeveless so I can show everyone my healed shoulder.
I went out of the walk in closet after I got dressed.
I went straight to my vanity to dry my hair.
Rainerâs eyes followed me.
âAre you going to just stare at me or do you actually want to tell me whatâs on your mind right now?â I said.
âYour woundâ he pointed out.
âI healed myselfâ I explained.
Rainer looked at me with eyebrows furrowed.
âDidnât you just say that using your healing powers takes up your life force?â he said.
I nodded.
âYes. But itâs a different case when I heal myself because it just goes back to me, anywayâ I said.
Rainer sighed in relief.
âBy the way, have you seen Luke since we came back?â I asked curiously.
Rainer nodded.
âYesâ he answered.
âDid you let him see me?â I asked as I looked at him.
I hoped he didnât.
âI didnât. I knew that you wouldnât want Luke to see in that situationâ he assured me.
I sighed in relief.
Thank the goddess.
I finished up drying my hair and faced Rainer.
âHowâs your father?â I asked him.
Rainerâs eyes turned dark.
âI donât know. Why would you ask about your opponents well being?â he said with a frown.
I raised a brow at Rainer.
âHeâs your father, Rainerâ I said.
Rainer looked away as his jaw clenched in anger.
I sighed.
âLook, Rainer. I understand where your father was coming fromâ I started.
âHe has a reason to doubt me and thatâs fineâ I said.
Rainer looked at me with his eyebrows furrowed.
âWhy are you trying to justify his actions? Shouldnât you hate him for targeting you?â he said.
I shook my head.
âI donât have any reason to hate or even dislike your father, Rainerâ I said.
âAnd he has a reason to feel that way towards you?â he asked back.
I nodded.
âYes. Yes, he doesâ I said.
Rainer gave me a confused look.
âI was born and grew up in the enemyâs territory. I was raised by a person who is unknown to all of you. Then, suddenly I cam in the picture and became someone that everyone should look up toâ I said.
âHe has every right to feel the way he does, Rainer. Because he cares about the people of Halo. I wouldâve felt the same way he didâ I told him.
âI donât want you to have a bad relationship with your father just because of what happened, Rainerâ I said.
Rainer sighed as he looked at me.
âWeâll visit him later after dinnerâ I said firmly.
âNo, we wonâtâ Rainer said.
I furrowed my eyebrows at him.
âOkay, then, I will. If you donât want to come then donâtâ I said and stood up to leave the room.
âLivianaâ Rainer said as he stopped me by holding on to my arm.
I raised a brow at him.
Rainer sighed.
âFine. Iâll comeâ he said in defeat.
I smiled.
âGoodâ I said and turned to look at him.
âDonât get mad at your father. Itâs not like it was his idea to have a match anyway. It was mine. Mine alone. He only agreed to it. You should blame me insteadâ I said.
Rainer sighed and shook his head.
âI canâtâ he said.
âExactlyâ I said with a smile then I went out of the room.
Rainer followed me.
âYou really know what to use against me, donât you?â he said as we walked in the hallway.
I smiled.
âI mean, you have a choice to hate or dislike me. But you wonât do it. Iâm not at fault in that areaâ I said with a shrug.
Rainer chuckled.
We made our way to Lukeâs room.
The guards opened the door for us and we went in.
Kaley and Luke turned to look at our direction.
âMama!â Luke said and walked to me.
I held him in my arms and hugged him.
âLiviana! Oh ghad! Are you okay?â Kaley asked worried.
She rushed to me and checked my whole body.
I chuckled.
âIâm fine, Kaley. Whereâs grandma?â I asked.
âFine? Just a few hours ago, you were bleeding to death. You canât possibly heal that fast. Waitâ¦can you?â she asked stunned.
âI was not bleeding to deathâ I denied and glanced at Rainer.
âWas I?â I asked.
Rainer chuckled.
âLivianaâ Kaley scolded.
I laughed.
âI really am fine, Kaley. You donât see a wound, right? Iâm not bleeding, right? Iâm alive, right?â I said.
Kaley looked at me and nodded.
âRightâ she said.
âExactlyâ I said with a smile.
âNow, whereâs grandma?â I asked again.
Kaley sighed.
âShe must ne waiting for King Callisto to tell him what happened to youâ she said.
Uh-oh.
âCanât let that happenâ I said.
âHold on, baby. We need to make a run for itâ I told Luke.
Luke held on tightly to me as I turned to the door.
âOpen!â I said.
The guards opened the door and I ran out carrying Luke.
âLiviana!â Rainer and Kaley called out as they ran after us.
Luke giggled excitedly as we ran to the hallways.
My son must think this is some kind of game.
What he doesnât know is his mom is in some real trouble.
Rainer caught up with me as he ran beside me.
âYouâre really somethingâ Rainer said in disbelief.
I shrugged as we made our way down the stairs.
âGive me Lukeâ Rainer said as we got down the stairs.
âWeâre fine. Weâre having fun, arenât we, Luke?â I said.
Luke giggled.
Rainer sighed and shook his head in disbelief.
We made our way to the living room.
That must be where grandma is waiting.
Iâm sure of it.
We reached the living room.
I was right.
Grandma was sitting on the couch anxiously as she drank tea.
âGrandmaâ I called out.
She looked up at me and her eyes widened.
âLiviana, your awake! Oh my! My precious granddaughter!â she said as she stood up and rushed to us.
Grandma immediately checked my whole body in worry.
âAre you okay? You were bleeding earlier. What happened? Who hurt you? Tell grandma right now. Tell me. Iâll punish whoever it is that harmed our sweet little girlâ she said tearing up.
I smiled.
Grandma mustâve been really worried.
Now, I feel really bad for letting myself get injured.
I shouldâve dodged better.
I really need to train more.
âIâm fine, grandma. I really am. Look, I donât have a wound anymore, right? Iâm not bleeding anymore and Iâm not hurting either. Iâm in one pieceâ I assured her.
Grandma looked at me with a frown.
âWhat happened? Tell me what happened right this instantâ she asked again.
âItâs justââ I was about to explain.
The door suddenly burst open and my grandfather suddenly came in.
He looked livid.
He had a dark aura emitting from him.
One that was ready to kill on sight.
âWhereâs my granddaughter?â he growled.
Oh weâre in so much trouble.
