Livianaâs POV
âMamaâ
I g*****d as I stretched my arms and slowly opened my eyes.
I smiled when I met eyes with Luke.
âMamaâ he said with a cute smile.
âGood morning, little oneâ I said as I gently pulled him to me and wrapped him in a hug.
After our little morning cuddle session, Luke and I got off the bed.
I carried him in my arms as we made our way to the bathroom.
I left the bathroom door open as I placed Luke by the sink to sit down.
I grabbed his toothbrush and started brushing the very few pieces of teeth that he had in front.
Luke laughed and giggled as I brushed his teeth.
After that, I washed his face with water and dried it.
âGood morningâ Rainer appeared by the bathroom door.
His hair was still messy and his eyes were barely open.
âMorning, bedheadâ I said as I gave him Luke.
Rainer held Luke in his arms while he was still sleepy.
âWhat are we up to today?â he asked in his a sleepy husky tone.
âBirthday preparationsâ I said as I grabbed my toothbrush.
âAre you going out with your new look?â Rainer asked as he yawned.
âThatâs the plan. Are you still bothered by it?â I asked before I started brushing my teeth.
âNot really. But I think everyone else willâ he said.
I simply shrugged.
I wouldnât be shocked if someone suddenly faints when they see me.
Imagine seeing someone who looks identical to the person who disappeared more than 19 years ago.
On top of that, they didnât seem to have aged at all.
Wouldnât anyone be shocked and confused?
But what can I do?
Iâm basically a carbon copy of my mother.
And since Iâve gotten rid of my black hair, the only feature that remains of my father is my eyes.
My eyes that I can randomly switch to golden ones.
Now thatâs even more confusing.
âWhat else are we doing today except Lukeâs birthday party preparations?â Rainer asked further.
I finished brushing my teeth and proceeded to wash my face.
âMhmmm. I actually want to buy something for Luke. Can you go to the city with me?â I asked.
Rainer nodded.
âSure. Are we taking Luke?â he asked.
I shook my head.
âIâll leave him with, grandma and Kaleyâ I said.
Rainer nodded.
I finished washing my face and dried my face with a towel.
Then, I grabbed Rainerâs toothbrush and gave it to him as I took Luke from him.
âWeâll have breakfast first then we can start the preparations. Weâll go to the city after we finish setting upâ I said.
Rainer nodded.
Luke and I went out of the bathroom as we waited for Rainer to finish.
After that, the 3 of us came to the dining hall together for breakfast.
âGood morning, guysâ Kaley greeted and turned around to look at us.
As soon as she saw me, she gasped as she stepped back and fell on her seat.
âL-Liviana? D-diana?â she muttered in confusion.
âLiviana. Good morning to you too, Kaleyâ O said with a chuckle as we reached the dining table.
âY-your hairâ she pointed out as she stared at me in shock.
âI dyed it. Doesnât it look good?â I said.
Kaley nodded slowly.
âIt d-does. Itâs just youâ¦you look likeâ¦â she stuttered.
âMy mom, I knowâ I said with a smile.
Kaley has only seen my mom in pictures and paintings but not in real life.
But her reaction to my new look was surely proving how much I resemble my mom.
âWhereâs grandpa and grandma?â I asked as I looked around for them.
Rainer put Luke in his baby chair between my seat and his.
âI think theyâll be here any momentââ
As if on cue, my grandparents came in.
âGood morning, myâ-â grandma froze when she saw me.
Grandpa looked at her and followed her gaze to me.
Grandpaâs eyes widened as they both froze in place by the entrance.
âGood morning, grandpa. Good morning, grandmaâ I greeted with a smile.
âL-liviana?â grandma muttered.
I nodded.
âThe one and onlyâ I said as I made my way to them.
Grandpa and Grandma looked at me with teary eyes.
âOh sweetheartâ grandma said as she cupped my face with tears in her eyes.
I gave her a small smile as I held her hand on my face.
âI miss her too, grandma. I miss her tooâ I said and my grandmotherâs tears started to fall from her eyes as she hugged me while she sobbed.
Grandpa remained standing there as he stared at us.
I extended my arm to him and he smiled as he joined our hug.
We remained like that for a moment until we finally decided to actually have our breakfast.
There was a mixture of joy and longing every time my grandparents looked at me.
I know how much they miss mom.
I do too.
I havenât seen her in a while since I woke up.
I havenât talked to the moon goddess either.
After breakfast, my grandparents had to attend to their royal duties.
While I on the other hand, started to set up for Lukeâs birthday celebration for tomorrow.
Rainer was helping out too.
He had a baby carrier on him in case he needed to carry Luke while helping us set up.
On the other hand, Luke was in a corner playing with some balloons.
âWho did you invite for Lukeâs birthday?â Rainer asked curiously as he helped me in putting up the balloons.
âJust the warriors, guards and helpersâ family members. The ones we met when you gave me a tour of the palace premisesâ I said.
âOkayâ Rainer said as we continued to set up the decorations.
After a while, Luke started to whine so I took a break and fed him.
After that, Rainer put Luke in the baby carrier while he pumped some more balloons.
Although we didnât exactly need to do this ourselves, I chose to be hands on in helping as much as I can.
Kaley already planned the whole thing since I had no talent whatsoever in these things.
The least I can do is lend a hand.
âYou guys are the cutestâ Kaley suddenly appeared.
âArenât I right, Luke?â Kaley said in her baby voice as she played with look.
I chuckled.
âThank you for planning Lukeâs 1st birthday, Kaley. I really appreciate itâ I told her.
âItâs fine, Liviana. Weâre family, arenât we?â she said.
I nodded.
Yes, we are.
We had lunch and finished decorating in the afternoon.
I put Luke to sleep and then showered and got dressed to go to the city to buy Luke a gift.
âYou ready?â Rainer knocked on my bedroom door.
âYeah. Give me a secâ I said as I grabbed my wallet and put it inside the pocket of my jeans.
I looked at myself in the mirror one last time.
I wore a pair of black jeans and a white v-neck shirt paired with some sneakers while I had my silver hair let down.
It was fortunate that grandma still added some basic types of clothing in my wardrobe because I had a ton of dresses in my closet that I donât even use.
I heard that Kaley helped her pick out some of the clothes so Iâm guessing it was more of Kaleyâs idea to get me some clothes that I would normally wear.
Iâm guessing grandma wanted her granddaughter to dress like the princess that she is.
Well, except Iâm not exactly the princess type yet.
I got out of the room and saw Rainer waiting for me.
He was also wearing black jeans, a white t-shirt and a pair of sneakers.
âCool. Weâre matching. Letâs go?â he said casually.
I nodded and just brushed off the fact that our outfits were basically the same.
Rainer drove to the city with me on the shotgun seat.
I sat quietly as I looked out of the window.
This is the first time that Iâll be going to the city in Halo.
It was also the first time that I got out of the palace territory.
âYou holding up okay?â Rainer asked me.
I nodded.
âI actually feel great being able to get out like thisâ I told him.
Rainer chuckled.
âI figuredâ he said.
âIf you ever want to go out like this every now and then, just tell me. I can always accompany you wherever you want to go. Atleast, in places here in Haloâ he said with a chuckle.
I chuckled and nodded.
âThanksâ I said.
Rainer gave me an assuring smile.
âAlso, Rainerâ I said.
âYeah?â he asked.
âCan I make a requestâ I said.
Rainer glanced at me curiously.
âWhat is it?â he asked.
I looked at him seriously.
âI want to start training again. And I donât want to be treated like a fragile thing anymore. Iâm starting from the bottom and Iâll make my way upâ I said with determination.
Rainer glanced at me again with a stunned look.
âI have something I need to work on and I wonât be able to do it if everyone treats me the way Iâve been being treated all this timeâ I continued.
âI need this. I want this. Pleaseâ I said.
Rainer stopped the car and looked at me.
âAre you sure?â he asked.
I nodded.
âIâm sureâ I said firmly.
A smile formed on Rainerâs lips.
âThen, weâll start the day after tomorrowâ he said and gave me a playful wink.
I chuckled and nodded.
I can already see the beginning.
