Livianaâs POV
We waved goodbye to the people as we left.
It was really fun talking to them.
They were very nice and welcoming.
I always seemed to compare Halo with Lunar.
Probably because I felt that Halo was a lot better.
And in my perspective, it really is.
For one, they werenât ruled over by a cunning excuse for a King.
âSo, where are we off to next?â I asked Rainer curiously.
âYouâll seeâ he said mischievously.
I raised a brow at him and he chuckled.
I didnât know where we were going but I still followed Rainer.
Normally, I wouldnât trust someone who I just met if heâs not family.
But Rainer was different.
Rainer wasnât family but he was the person who saved Luke and Iâs life.
Also, Rainer has been guarding and protecting me since that day.
I didnât have any reason to not trust him.
Specially seeing how he acts around Luke and I.
After a while of walking, we finally reached our destination.
It was a lake.
A beautiful breathtaking lake.
âWowâ I said in awe.
âThis is Princess Dianaâs favorite spot in Haloâ Rainer told me.
âReally?â I said.
Rainer nodded.
My eyes roamed around the scenic view.
It looked magical.
âI think itâs my favorite spot in Halo now tooâ I said as I appreciated the view.
Rainer smiled.
âIâm glad you liked itâ he said.
I smiled thankfully at him.
âIâll set up lunchâ he said and gave me Luke.
I nodded.
Rainer opened the other bag from earlier and took out a picnic blanket from there.
Then, he started taking out lunch boxes and laid them down neatly on the picnic blanket.
âFinishedâ Rainer said and offered his hand to help Luke and I to sit down.
I accepted it and sat down on the picnic blanket.
Rainer sat across Luke and I as he gave me a spoon and a lunch box.
âThank youâ I said.
Rainer gave me a smile.
Luke laid down on my lap when Rainer gave him a bottle of his milk and started drinking it.
On the other hand, Rainer and I started eating.
I still continued to peacefully enjoy the view while I was eating my lunch.
It was a perfect go to place to relax and get your mind off if things.
âHow are you liking Halo so far?â Rainer asked me.
âIâm loving it so farâ I told him honestly.
âIâm gladâ he said with a smile.
âThank youâ I told him.
âNo problemâ he said.
Rainer looked like he to say something but contemplated on it.
âDo you have anything to say? To ask? Go aheadâ I said with a chuckle.
Rainer chuckled awkwardly.
âIf you donât mind me asking, how was Lunar like for you?â he asked curiously.
I smiled slightly.
âLunar will always be my home because thatâs where I grew up and developed the person that I amâ I started.
âIn Lunar, I led a pack. I was Alphaâ I told him.
Rainer looked at me with a surprised expression.
âYou were Alpha in Lunar?â he asked.
I nodded.
âYes. The first female Alphaâ I confirmed.
Rainer looked impressed.
âMy pack was one of the biggest pack in Lunar. The Crescent Moon pack. I started leading it at the age of 16 when Pa leftâ I said.
âPa?â Rainer asked again.
âPa is the person who raised me. He was my fatherâs most trusted warrior. I grew up thinking he was my biological father and only found out that he wasnât a little after I turned 18â I said.
Rainer nodded in understanding.
âThe Crescent Moon pack was my life. I cherished all of them with all my heart and led them with pride till the very endâ I stated sadly.
I miss my pack.
âWhen you ask me how Lunar was for me, I can never tell you anything else except Lunar was where Alpha Liviana of Crescent Moon pack grew up in because all my life, I only ever focused on my pack and nothing else. So being Haloâs princess is a really big level-up for meâ I said with a chuckle.
Rainer chuckled as well.
âDonât worry too much about it. Iâm sure youâd make a wonderful rulerâ Rainer assured me.
âHow can you say? You havenât even met all of meâ I said.
âOh believe me, I donât need you to tell me your life story to know that you are fit to be a rulerâ he said with a shrug.
âAnd why is that?â I asked.
Rainer looked at me straight in the eyes.
âBecause when I look at you now, I donât just see an Alpha or a Princessâ¦â he said and paused.
âI see a Queenâ he stated.
I was left speechless.
Rainer smiled at me.
I blushed.
After that, we finished our lunch and Rainer cleaned up while I held Luke.
I kept looking around for as long as I can while we were out.
Once we were all ready, we made our way to the training grounds for our last stop.
âHow often do the warriors and guards train here?â I asked curiously.
âThe training hall is in function 24/7. Old and new warriors and guards take turns being on duty, training and resting.
âThen, there must be a high number of warriors and guards hereâ I said.
Rainer nodded.
âWell, yes. In fact, the whole population of Halo is twice the population of Lunarâ Rainer stated.
I turned to look at Rainer with a raised brow.
âAnd how do you know that?â I asked him.
Rainer bit his lower l*p and looked away.
I chuckled.
âHow long has a spy from Halo been going to Lunar?â I asked him.
âSpy? What spy?â Rainer feigned innocence.
âOh please. Donât play innocent. The only way you couldâve found me that day as well is either because you were going to Lunar or you were coming back from Lunarâ I said.
Rainer flushed red as he avoided my gaze.
I laughed.
He was caught red handed but still refused to tell me anything.
âSomeone from Lunar once mentioned to me that they tried to send a spy to Halo as well but failed. He said it was impossible to infiltrate another territory. I think he assumed that Lunar was the same. And I guess, heâs wrong if you can go in and out of Lunar without anyone knowing you were even thereâ I said impressed.
Luan was the one who told me this.
âIn our defense, we only did it to search for Princess Diana in Lunarâ Rainer admitted.
âOur? So who are the others?â I asked.
Rainerâs eyes widened as he realized what he just said.
I burst out laughing at his reaction.
He did not only confess to being a spy but he also confessed to having accomplices.
Rainer refused to talk more after until we reached the training grounds.
We finally reached the training grounds and I saw the warriors training from the distance.
âThis is where the warriors and guards train. Thereâs also an indoor one and itâs both accessible any timeâ Rainer told me.
âShouldnât we go closer?â I said.
âDo you want to go closer?â Rainer asked.
I nodded.
âThen, letâs goâ Rainer said as he offered his hand.
I accepted it as we made our way closer to the training.
As we were approaching, we heard a shout not from too far away.
âLook out!â someone shouted.
My senses tingled.
Rocks came bursting out of the ground as it made a wall covering Reiner and Luke.
Then, I caught the flying arrow with my bare hands.
My eyes glowed bright gold as my hands lit on fire and the arrow turned into ashes.
I glared at the direction of where the arrow came from.
The warriors holding bows looked at me in fear as they all dropped their bows to the ground.
I made my way to them with one of my hand still on fire and my eyes glowed a dangerous bright gold.
They all stepped back as I came closer.
âCareful thereâ I growled in a low dangerous tone.
Roots started coming out of the ground and it wrapped around the ankles of the warriors.
âLiviana!â I heard Rainer shout but I was already seeing red.
The warriors kneeled before me as the roots kept them from getting away.
âWeâre sorry. It was an accidentâ they said desperately.
I chuckled in disbelief.
âLiviana!â Rainer kept calling me.
âYou know what else can be an accident?â I said.
They all looked at me in fear.
âThe end of all of youâ I said.
The color from their faces drained.
It was quickly replaced with a terrified expression.
âLet them goâ
I turned to look at who spoke and saw a man making his way towards us.
âIt was an accident, your majesty. An honest mistake. I apologize in behalf of my menâ the man said as he bowed his head to me.
My brows furrowed.
âAnd you are?â I said.
âMy apologies. I am Rolan Black. The head trainer and Rainerâs fatherâ he introduced himself.
I stared at him for a moment.
Then, I took a deep breath as I glared at the warriors again.
The roots entangled on the their legs started to go back to the ground as the fire in my hands disappeared.
âDonât let it happen againâ I warned them and they nodded while shaking in fear.
âLiviana!â
I turned to look at Rainerâs direction.
His shout was quickly followed by Lukeâs cries.
My eyes widened as I put down the rocks surrounding both of them quickly.
I rushed to Rainer and Luke as Luke cried in fear.
I immediately held Luke in my arms to calm him down.
âIâm so sorry, baby. Iâm so sorryâ I apologized as I hugged Luke in my arms.
âLiviana, are you okay? Are you hurt? What happened?â Reiner asked worried as he checked my body.
âIâm fineâ I told him as I continue to make Luke calm down.
Rainer continued to circle me to check for any injuries.
âHer majesty is fine, Rainer. You should probably ask them insteadâ Rainerâs father came as he pointed to the warriors who I scolded and threatened earlier.
They were still kneeling down as they shook in fear.
Rainer shook his head in disbelief.
âI think you scared the sht out of them, Livianaâ Rainer said with a chuckle.
Luke had finally stopped crying as he snuggled close to me while I caressed him soothingly.
I rolled my eyes.
âTheyâll get over itâ I simply said.
I was still more worried about Luke than I was with anyone else.
Can you blame me?
My maternal instinct took over.
I felt a sense of danger for my child.
Of course, Iâll lash out.
Rainer gave me a pat on the back while his father eyed me.
Looking at Rainerâs father, I donât think he likes me very much.
