Roaxana stared at the phone, on her screen, thinking Ryan didnât call her back after that day. She had messaged him, but as usual, she didnât receive any response from him. âIt feels like he doesnât want to stay as a friend with me. If | keep running behind him, he will think Iâm desperate for his attention,â she murmured.
Keeping the phone away, she lay flat on the bed, gazing at the ceiling of her room. Holding the pillow close to her chest, she wondered if she would confront Ryanâs father.
Amidst those thoughts, her phone started ringing and she promptly answered it.
âRyan!â She said with excitement.
âIt's Isaac.â
Roaxana gazed at her phone screen and apologized to Isaac.
âIt seems you were waiting for his call more than mine. Iâm hurt,â Isaac said.
âWhy did you call?â Roaxana questioned him.
âCome down. | want to take you somewhere,â Isaac stated.
âYou are outside my house?â Roaxana arched her eyebrows as she sat up on the bed.
âYep.â
âGive me ten minutes,â Roaxana said and hung up the call. She felt Isaac was still trying hard to win her heart and she felt upset thinking she was rejecting him every time. âI think | need to clear him everything once again.â
Fifteen minutes later, Roaxana reached outside her house. She had worn a long black skirt with a white full-necked pullover above it. A black sling bag and black boots matched her outfit.
Isaac was definitely mesmerized to see her and passed a smile. âYou look amazing,â he complimented her.
She thanked him and asked, âSo, where are you taking me to?â Roaxana had decided that she didnât play with Isaacâs heart and keep hope in him that she would become his one day.
As they got inside the car, Isaac drove them to the place he had in his mind. âWhat is bothering you?â Isaac asked her. âIs it about Ryan again?â He inquired.
Roaxana was hesitant to share about Ryan with him. But she had a lot of things in her head that she practically wanted to share with someone.
âYou can tell me. Iâm good at listening,â Isaac said, giving comfort to her.

2257 InntallaA âRyan and | have been childhood friends. We never fought with each other until recently due to a misunderstanding. | donât want to lose my friend over that. Also, he has changed suddenly and it worries me,â Roaxana confided to him.
âDid you try explaining to him? What is the misunderstanding that Ryanâs demeanor has suddenly changed?â Isaac questioned her.
âRyan isnât ready to listen to me. He did get side in the middle, but again, he began ignoring me,â Roaxana stated and hung her head low in disappointment. âHis father is truly bad. It all happened because of me. Ryanâs mother didnât die because of my family, but his father destroyed everything between us.â
âWhat do you mean?â Isaac got puzzled. He felt any child would get disturbed knowing the truth of death behind his mother or father.
âMany years ago when Ryan was 2 or 3 years old, his mother sought the assistance of a witch. Everyone knows that it is forbidden to use the magics which are dark. Since our family leads every pack in the country, my grandpa was the one who decided to rescue Ryanâs mother from the clutches of the witch. While doing so, Ryanâs mother lost her life and his father only witnessed the last scene on that day,â Roaxana explained to him about the incident.
Isaac felt the situation was deep, but Ryan being a childhood friend to Roaxana should at least listen to her.
âRoaxana, you are letting yourself get hurt in the process,â Isaac stated.
â| donât want to lose him. Thatâs why | keep trying,â Roaxana asserted and leaned her head back on the headrest.
âThen, keep trying, but the moment, Ryan steps out of his boundaries, you need to stop. He should know the complete truth if he has ever thought of you as his friend,â Isaac advised her.
âHmm,â Roaxana agreed with him. If not for Noah, she wouldnât have returned to Ryan after how he treated her.
Finally, after an hourâs drive, they arrived at a place near the ocean. Stepping out of the car, Roaxana saw the ocean in the distance, with an empty beach stretching out to its end.
âWhy are we here?â Roaxana asked.
âTo have fun,â Isaac replied and held her hand. He pulled her along with him when Roaxana told him she didnât even bring her swimming clothes.
âDonât worry. We arenât going to enter the ocean. My friend has a beach party as he finally found his mate,â Isaac revealed to her.
âWhat about the gift?â Roaxana questioned.
âHere,â Isaac showed the bag to her.

Inntallad 10:49 Mon, 4 Mar âHmm. But going together at a party, doesnât it sound weird? They may think we are together,â Roaxana said, waiting for his response to this comment of hers.
âYeah. But | wanted to come here with a friend. Also, Iâve not given up on you yet,â Isaac clarified to her.
Roaxana stopped midway, making him halt too. They looked at each other. âIl know you love Ryan. You want him to see you as a woman. But heâs not doing that. | won't do anything, but I'll just make efforts, Roxy,â Isaac stated. His eyes furrowed together as he took a step closer to her. âI can try to win your heart,â he affirmed.
Roaxana couldn't utter a word on this statement of his. He was right about Ryan too. However, she didnât give him an answer right away and walked ahead of him.
They soon reached the beach house, where the party was going on. Roaxana smiled to see how they all were dancing together and enjoying the day. However, her smile disappeared as soon as she spotted Ryan there.
Isaac also saw Ryan at the party, wondering if he also knew his friend. âI didnât know he would be here,â he murmured.
Roaxana felt upset because she was worried thinking that Ryan was sick, but he was enjoying himself among his friends on this beach.
