âCourtney's P.O.Vâ
"Are you going to the game today?" I ask Emily and she gives me a look that screams, Duh.
"My brother is in the team and yours is too." She winks and I roll my eyes.
"Shut up."
She laughs as we approach my locker and I open it to shove my books inside.
"Oh my god, Damian is coming." She begins to freak out and I smirk as I push her forward. "Hey!"
"Have fun." I say, before I speed walk towards the exit.
I hear him chuckle and I look over my shoulder to see him steadying her.
My job here is done.
I smile as I step out of the building, until I remember that she's my ride back home. I let out a sigh as I smooth down my skirt and I look around to see that mostly everyone is already gone.
"Boo." A male voice says by my ear and I let out a scream of horror as he squeezes my waist.
I spin around to face him and I glare as Alex grins at me in triumph.
"Gotcha."
"You, asshole." I grumble, putting my hand over my thumping heart.
"Thanks?" He laughs.
I roll my eyes as I look inside the open doors and a grin finds itself on my face as I see Emily and Damian kissing until the doors shut again.
"That's my girl." I fist pump the air and Alex lifts an eyebrow at me. "Emily is kissing Damian in there." I let him know.
A sudden grin appears on his face and I laugh as he hollers, "Wooh, that's my boy!"
"You were waiting for it, too?" I ask, and he nods his head. "They look cute together." I admit, a wide grin on my face.
"Yeah," he agrees.
I watch as they come out a few moments later and I smirk, as I see them holding hands. I wink at her and she blushes as she looks away.
"Is there a reason why you're grabbing her waist?" Damian asks teasingly and I look down, realizing that he's rightâAlex still has his hands on my waist.
I look down as I feel heat crawl up my neck and Alex let's go of my waist, dropping his hands by his sides.
"I gotta go, I'm late for practice." He dismisses himself, and I frown as I see him run away.
"Damian, they were having a moment." Emily complains and I let out a soft laugh.
"I didn't know!" He's quick to defend, throwing his free hand up.
"Shut up and kiss me." She orders.
I quickly turn to walk away.
"Don't mind if I do."
"Thanks for the kind offer of being a third wheel, but I'm perfectly fine being at least fifty feet away from you two." I say, running in the direction that Alex ran to when they start kissing again.
By the time I catch up to him, my breathing is heavy and I sound like I'm having an attack as I lean against the nearest wall.
"God, I'm out of breath." I gasp out.
Alex turns to smirk at me in amusement and I stand up straight again when I even out my breathing.
"I can have you breathing like that in bed." He winks and I gape at him, shoving his shoulder back.
"I'm your sister." I remind him, causing his smile to fall.
"No, you're not, our parents got married and I'm pretty sure we weren't reborn with both of their genes." He reasons, and I raise my eyebrows at him.
"You're getting smarter by each passing day." I tease.
He rolls his eyes, turning to walk away, but I stop him by grabbing his hand.
He turns back around with confusion in his face, looking down at our hands, and I take in a deep breath.
Just tell him, Courtney. Be a big girl.
Closing my eyes and preparing myself, I open my mouth to speak but my words get cut short when a voice interrupts.
"Alex, coach needs you on the field, soon." Steven informs as he jogs up to us and Alex nods his head at him.
"I'll be right there, let me just change."
"Alright," Steven nods, giving me a simple nod of acknowledgment before he jogs back towards the field.
I stare at Alex as he gives me a small smile, "I'm sorry, tell me later?"
I nod my head in response, looking down.
"I'll see you." He dismisses himself.
"Yeah," I sigh, watching him jog into the locker room.

"Courtney, sweetie, how was school?" My mom asks me as soon as I enter through the door and I approach her as I give her a kiss on the cheek.
"School was good," I reply, "But I need to get ready for the soccer game." I excuse myself, going up the stairs.
"Alright then."
I go up to my room and I quickly change into a pair of light washed jeans, a flowered loose shirt, and my white vans. I then throw on a white thin sweater and I re-curl some strands of my hair.
Feeling satisfied with my appearance, I call Emily; and she answers after the fourth ring, sounding breathless.
"Hello?"
"Hey, Em, I'm ready for the game. Can you pick me up?" I question, reapplying Chapstick to my lips.
"Yes, of course, I'll be there in five minutes."
"I'll wait outside." I inform, already exiting my room.
"Okay, cool."
I end the call and skip my way down the stairs, going to the kitchen to grab an apple for the way. Saying bye to my mom, I exit the house and wait for Emily to arrive.
When her car drives up to my driveway, I rush to the passenger's side and step inside.
"Any news?" Is the first thing she asks and I shake my head, letting out a sigh.
"Sadly, no."
"Well, Damian asked me out. Isn't that amazing?" She squeals and I turn to smile at her, my happiness being a bit forced.
"I'm happy for you, Em." And I really am, but I'm just bummed that he couldn't wait a minute to listen. Letting out another sigh, I spill, "I was going to tell him."
She instantly gets what I mean, "Why didn't you?"
"Steven rushed him because their coach needed him on the field already." I frown, looking out of the window as she drives back towards school.
"Well, I don't like him. I have not yet forgotten how he used to tease you for the way you dressedâasshole." She scoffs.
"He's nice to me now, but yeah I won't forget that either."
"Well duh, you look hot nowâ wait, not that you didn't look hot before, justâ never mind, I hope you know what I mean."
I laugh, "Yeah, I get you."
"Good."

"Why does Julian look so down?" I ask Emily, as she sits beside me on the bleachers, and she narrows her eyes to see Julian jogging across the field at an unusually slow pace.
"He's regretting his decision." She shrugs, "It's not my fault he was such an idiot."
I frown at this, "Regretting what decision?"
"He misses you, but please don't take him back no matter what. He doesn't deserve you after what he did to you, let him suffer now. I don't care if he's my brother, you're my best friend since birth."
"I still talk to him as a friend, isn't that enough for him?" I question, switching my attention to Alex, who also looks a bit down. Basically, the only ones putting in work are Damian and Steven.
"My question is, what's up with Alex? Why does he look likeâ" she gets cut off by the people on the bleachers standing up and cheering.
I also stand up and cheer as I notice that Damian made a goal. Once Emily realizes this, she stands up and let's just say you can hear her cheering his name from the other side of the world.
I cover my ear closest to her and hiss in pain. "Jesus Christ, Em."
"Wooh, Damian!" She keeps cheering, and he turns towards the bleachers and searches for her. When his eyes finally land on her, he grins widely and throws his hands up in triumph.
Emily smiles wide at his actions and I sit back down as I lean forward and prop my elbow on my leg, resting my chin on my palm.
My eyes scan across the field and they stop on number 10; Alex's Jersey. The ball gets passed over to him and I gasp as I sit up straight when he starts running across the field, dodging the opponents trying to steal the ball from him.
He goes around one opponent as he tried to kick the ball away. He stops running as he looks for one of his teammates to be open but most of them are being guarded.
I find myself tugging on my hair from the suspense and I bite my lip as an opponent runs up from behind. I shout for him to be careful, but my words get cut short with a gasp of horror, along with everyone on our side.
The opponent surprised him by getting in front of him and kicks the ball, also succeeding to kick him straight where the sun doesn't shine.
Alex curls over in pain and I put my hands over my mouth as the referee holds up a red card for the opponent. Damian and Steven run over to him and I get up as I lean over to look closer.
Alex is holding himself as the one who kicked him gets sent to sit down, clearly showing anger as he kicks the fence as he makes his way over.
My attention goes back to Alex as Damian helps him up and I quickly push past everyone so I can go over to them.
There's people trying to stop me, the referee being one, but I ignore them and run to where Damian and Alex are standing.
Once I reach them, I can hear Alex's groans of pain and I furrow my eyebrows as Damian sends me a small smile.
"He kicked him with a lot of force, I have to help him to the nurse's office."
"He's not supposed to walk!" I argue, not letting them get past me.
"Courtney," Alex groans, his face showing nothing but pain as he looks at me. "I'm...fine."
"No, you're not."
"Yes...I am...please, move."
"He needs a wheelchair or something, he can't walk all the way across the school like that." I insist, crossing my arms over my chest. "How are the coach and the referee allowing this?"
"The game has to go on, we have a direct free kick because of this." Damian explains, "Steven is going to kick the ball, but we need to go."
Letting out a sigh, I step closer towards them and wrap my arm around Alex. "Fine, but I'll help get him there."
"Sounds good." Damian agrees, the both of us guiding Alex forward. He lets out a set of incoherent profanities under his breath and I slow down.
"Can we carry him there?" I ask, turning to him in concern.
"We?" Damian laughs, "I'll do it myself."
"No...that's...gay." Alex complains, letting out more groans of pain.
"Shut up, dude. You're in no condition to argue." Damian scoffs, bending down and lifting him off the ground. I smile in content as I follow behind them.
Once we finally get to the nurse's room, Damian sets him down on the little bed and I stand beside Alex as he grumbles under his breath.
"I'm gonna...kill that fucker..."
I get the urge to reach out and run my fingers through his hair but instead, I play with the hem of my shirt.
Biting my lip, I listen to Damian explaining to the nurse what happened inside her little office.
"Courtney," Alex catches my attention, "What...were you trying to tell me earlier today?"
I only manage to blink at him, in loss for words. I mean, sure I was confident enough to tell him earlier, but now that my chance is here, I can't seem to tell him.
"Nothing important." I finally say, forcing a smile.
"Are you sure?" He questions, shutting his eyes as he curses again. "Shit, that fucking hurts."
"I'm sure." I confirm.
"Well," he opens his eyes to state into mine, "I have something to tell you."
I don't say anything, I just wait for him to say whatever he needs to tell me.
"I thinkâ"
I get the urge to slap the nurse as she chooses that moment to step into the room and interrupt.
"Alright, Alex, I hope you don't mind me touching you down there." She says, approaching us. "I need to be sure everything is still fine."
"I don't." He answers, never switching his attention from me.
"Good," she smiles, instantly reaching down as she massages him between his legs.
My eyes widen as he groans in pain and I feel my cheeks warm up in embarrassment. Damian chuckles from beside me and I look down at the floor.
"I'm gonna go back to the game." I excuse myself, rushing out of the office.
"Let me know what happens." Damian calls out and I just show him a thumbs up.
I need to know what he wanted to tell me.

Alright, so I need to set something straightâI'm nowhere near athletic so I know nothing about any sport. Cut me some slack if I got some rules from soccer wrong, because I know nothing. Please understand, I tried my best to search up the rules, but I got lazy and I didn't read everything. So, I'm sorry if the way I wrote this chapter bothered you, but hey I updated! Haha, I love you, bye.
