Stepbrother ✔Words: 10861

❀Courtney's P.O.V❀

"Alex," I call out as I knock on his door repeatedly. "Get the rabbit out of the hole and take us to the wedding, goddammit!"

A few moments pass until he swings the door open, and he rolls his eyes at me as he fixes his tie. "First of all, I'm not gay. Secondly, my dick isn't a rabbit."

Damian snorts at his comment as he pops up from beside him, with his shirt undone, and I raise a brow.

"Are you sure you two aren't secretly dating?" I tease and they both turn to smirk at each other before they send me a wink.

"That's a secret, so shush." They both say and I blink at them. Once, twice, three times. "We're joking." They burst into laughter and I roll my eyes as I smile.

"Whatever, just hurry up and finish getting ready. The wedding is in an hour and we need to be there thirty minutes earlier." I instruct and they stop laughing as they walk deeper into the room, and I watch in amusement from the doorway as Damian has trouble tying his tie.

"Babe, I need help with this thing." He tells Alex and he does his tie for him, making me laugh softly to myself.

"Yup, I'm convinced." I speak up and they turn their heads in my direction, their lips turned up into their usual smirk. "Oh, you guys did that on purpose didn't you?" I realize and they laugh as they nod their heads.

"Duh, we just like messing around with people." Alex says and I shake my head at them as I smooth down my dress.

"Wait, this whole thing was only a joke?" Damian speaks up sadly and I scrunch up my eyebrows when he shoves Alex. "I thought we had something going on here! I thought you loved me!"

I back away from the door in an awkward manner as Alex falls back on the bed and laughs. "You're hilarious, bro." He compliments and I watch as Damian bows.

"Thank you, I try."

"Okay," I speak my mind, "You guys are weird."

"Whatever, we're almost ready." Damian says, standing in front of the mirror as he shrugs on his jacket.

"Meet us up front." Alex instructs and I nod my head before spinning around. "Oh," he stops me, and I turn back around. "And my dick isn't a rabbit."

I lift a brow as I stare at him blankly, and he smirks at my expression. "You're right," I finally say, "It's a bunny." Then I make my way down the stairs as I laugh wildly.

"This is just great," I grumble, "Thanks to you we are now stuck in the middle of the road."

Alex hits the steering wheel again and curses loud enough for the people passing by to hear. "If you agreed to bring the bike this wouldn't be happening right now, Courtney."

"So now you're saying this is my fault?" I inquire, raising an eyebrow as I fold my arms over my chest.

"No," he sighs, resting his head on the steering wheel. "I just, well yeah this is your fault actually."

"Excuse me?" I gape at him, "The main reason why I didn't agree with the bike is because I'm wearing a dress, a long one for that matter. These type of dresses don't get along with two-wheeled anything. Besides, I could've just taken Damian's offer to take me instead." I explain, narrowing my eyes at him.

He picks up his head to look at me and he slides his hand down his face as he lets out a groan. "God, you're so fucking beau– irritating." He quickly corrects whatever he was going to say and I furrow my eyebrows.

"Alex," I start, "What were you really going to say?"

"Nothing." He quickly defends and I tilt my head to the side as I stare at him. "Just, wait here. I'll try and see if anyone wants to help us." He says and I nod my head as a response.

With one last look in my direction, he exits the car and tries to stop a car by waving his arms. I laugh in my seat as he fails miserably and one driver even beeps at him, yelling at him to fuck off.

Having enough entertainment, I get out of the car and puff up my curls before I approach Alex's side.

"What are you doing? Get back inside." He orders and I turn to face him.

"Well it seems to me like no one wants to help you right now. Trust me, it's usually the guys stopping in situations like this, and it's my job to stop one." I say, before I wink at him.

He narrows his eyes at me. "I'm not sure I like this idea."

"Just trust me and follow along to what I say." I demand and he sighs, looking at the cars passing by hesitantly.

"Alright, do your thing, but don't let anyone touch you. Or else I will have to use my own hands, balled up into fists." He threatens and I roll my eyes before I turn to the cars.

I wave at a red car coming closer and smile at the guy inside when he slows down to a stop. "Hey, what's such a gorgeous girl doing out here alone?" He asks and I hold back the urge to roll my eyes, instead I bite my lip.

"Actually, I'm not alone." I say, pointing back at Alex, who is staring daggers at the guy. "My brother and I were headed to a wedding and our car broke down. Think you can maybe help us out?" I question and he keeps looking at Alex. "Please?" I add, batting my eyelashes when he turns his gaze towards me.

He stays silent for a few moments and I groan internally when I hear his next words. "I don't know..."

I approach his car and bend down to his eye level. "I will pay you back if you help us out." I wink at him, hating myself when I reach inside to slide my hand across his chest.

He bites his lip and I quickly try to pull my hand away when he grabs my wrist and begins to guide it south. "I can take you wherever you want, but your brother has to stay here."

I begin to panic as I try to pull my hand back but he only tightens his hold. "I-I can't just leave him, let me go."

"Courtney, what's going on over there?" Alex's voice sounds from behind me and the guy's expression quickly switches to one of determination as he opens the door and I try to pull myself away.

"Let me go!" I yell as tears of fear begin to form in my eyes. He tries to pull me inside the car with him but Alex is by my side in an instant and he throws a punch to his face.

"Let go of her, you sick fuck!" Alex shouts and he finally lets go of me as I stare in shock. He holds his face and shuts the door again before he drives off and I let out a sob as I look down at my wrist, a red handprint marked on it.

"Are you okay? Did he hurt you?" Alex asks, concern lacing his voice, and I slowly shake my head as tears stream down my face. "God, Courtney, you're so stupid. Don't ever fucking do that again." He pulls me into his arms and I accept the comfort his arms give me.

We stay there for a few moments as cars keep passing by and I sniffle as he pulls away. He grabs my face between his hands and stares into my eyes. "I won't let anything hur–" he begins but gets cut off.

"Hey, you two need help with your car?" A man's voice catches our attention and we both turn to look at a blue van parked beside Alex's car. A man is driving, a lady is in the passenger's seat, and there seems to be three kids in the backseat.

I turn to look up at Alex and he smiles at me. "They seem trust worthy." He says and I nod my head in agreement. "Yes, we do." He replies and the man gets out of the car before he goes to take out something from the trunk.

"I've been in many situations like this before, so I come prepared." He says and I laugh a little as he and Alex open the hood of their vehicles.

"That is very true." The lady—I'm guessing his wife—speaks up and I turn my attention to her. "It always happens when we have to be somewhere important, too. Which seems to be what's happening with you two."

"It's our parent's wedding." I let her know and she gasps.

"Oh my, that's not good. Peter, hurry! They have a wedding to attend." She ushers and her husband quickly does as told, connecting the wire-looking thing to both of the cars before they get back inside the cars.

I watch as they try to start the engines in confusion and the lady laughs at my face expression.

"I can see you're new to situations like these?"

I slowly nod my head as I bite my lip and she laughs again. The window to the backseat suddenly gets rolled down and a boy pops his head out. "Hey, my brother wanted to ask for your number." He says and I give him a look of pure surprise.

"Lucas!" His mother scolds and I laugh into my hand as he jumps in fear at her voice. "What have I said about embarrassing your brother like that?!"

"Sorry, mom, but he actually asked for me to tell her that." He explains and another voice agrees from inside.

"It's true, she's hot."

"Oh, um, well thanks." I awkwardly say and they all chuckle in the backseat.

I sigh in relief when the car finally turns on and Alex hops back out of the car to thank the family. "Thanks for the help, it means a lot that you took the time of day."

"It's no problem at all, son." The man replies and I smile and wave when he gets back inside the car.

"Drive safely, have a nice day." I tell them and they all wave at me as they begin to drive off.

"Bye, have fun at the wedding!" The lady shouts and I laugh softly to myself before Alex and I hurry to get inside the car.

"Shit, we're really fucking late." Alex informs as I slam the door shut and he immediately pulls back onto the road. "My dad's going to be pissed."

"My mom also!"

"Where's Courtney?! Why hasn't she arrived even after the wedding is over?!" I hear my mom's voice screech from inside the room and I turn to give Alex a horrified look.

He simply gives me a sympathetic smile before he says, "I would stay with you to explain, but I have my own problem waiting for me in the other room." He walks off down the hall and I take in a deep breath before I turn the knob.

I push the door open and shut my eyes tightly as I immediately begin to spill apologies. "I'm so sorry, mom, but Alex and I were arguing about taking the motorcycle or the car and–"

"Sweetheart, you're safe!" Her relieved voice cuts me off and I widen my eyes in shock when she crushes me in a hug. "Oh, I was worried sick! I didn't want to continue the wedding without you but Walter had the priest scheduled for the time that the wedding was supposed to start so we had to continue. Oh, sweetie, you missed the third most important day of my life!"

"Third?" I question, pulling away from her bone crushing arms.

She laughs softly, her face slowly forming into a frown. "First it was my wedding day with your father, then it was your birth day." Her smile makes an appearance again and I smile as she pulls me in for another hug. "What took you so long?" She asks and I let out a nervous laugh.

"Let's just say, the story is long and not very pretty."

Wow, its been a while since I've made an appearance. I know it's taking me long to update but writer's block has the best of me. I had to delete and rewrite this chapter at least five times and I just won't reread this version, because then I might delete it as well. Oh well, I hope you enjoyed. I love you.
