Chapter 326: Press Conference
Tang Yifeng had known Jiang Xuecheng for many years and knew that Sheng Anâning had a special position in the Jiang family. It was not very realistic to punish her.
At the mentioning of Sheng Anâning, Jiang Xuechengâs eyes deepened. He poured another glass of red wine for himself and took a sip.
âPut away your little bit of sympathy. Her showbiz path has ended. If she has any further dirty thoughts in the future...â
Jiang Xuecheng did not say further but Tang Yifeng understood what he meant.
Tang Yifeng stood up and walked slowly toward the window. The sun was right outside the window. The summer wind brushed against his face, arousing bursts of heat.
Tang Yifeng examined Jiang Xuecheng who was still sitting on the sofa. The smile on his face was full of teasing.
âAt first, I thought you were celibate or at least, one who would marry late like me. I hadnât expected that you would cherish someone like this one day.â
Jiang Xuecheng placed the goblet down and walked slowly toward Tang Yifeng.
âBefore I met her, I thought I may not get married but love is so subtle. One day if you make a turnaround, you may as well consider getting married.â
The feeling of hugging a person in your embrace every night was very different from sleeping alone.
Perhaps it was because he loved Su Wan that he felt everything about Su Wan was good and whatever weakness of hers was adorable and unique.
Although Jiang Xuecheng had friends in the past, looking at the vast sea of people, he had always felt lonely.
Ever since Su Wan accompanied him, Jiang Xuecheng felt that the cold Fontainebleau was now filled with vitality.
That kind of feeling was magical. With every twinkle and smile of hers, the seemingly grey world had become lively.
âEvery time Su Wan is mentioned, you would smile uncontrollably. Donât you dare jab an unmarried man like me!â
Jiang Xuecheng ignored his friendâs mocking. He recollected himself and his voice was serious.
âIâll have my wedding ceremony on first June. I wanted Ah Si to be my best man but he was injured in the car accident and itâll be inconvenient for him. You take his place.â
Tang Yifeng was shocked. He couldnât help moving his spectacles on his nose.
âI just said to not harm an unmarried man and you mention your wedding. Arenât you hurting the feelings and money of an unmarried man?â
Upon hearing this, Jiang Xuecheng raised his brows calmly and sneered.
âDonât tell me you canât afford the cash gift. Iâll be ashamed of you. Of course, if you donât wish to be my best man, I can look for someone else.â
Under the wishes of Jiang Xuecheng and Su Wan, it would be better to look for their close friends to be their best man and maid of honor. If their friends couldnât make it, then the Jiang family could help to solve this problem.
âFine, you win!â
Tang Yifeng walked over silently and tapped Jiang Xuechengâs shoulders.
âI canât afford to lose you. Since youâve asked me to be your best man, donât blame me for being too handsome after dressing up and stealing your limelight.â
When Tang Yifengâs complacent words reached Jiang Xuechengâs ears, Jiang Xuecheng raised his eyes and darted Tang Yifeng a calm glance.
âYou think too much about stealing the limelight.â
Hearing his composed words, Tang Yifeng felt like throwing up. How could he lift himself and belittle his friend?
âAlright then, thatâs a deal about being the best man. Iâll attend your Su Wanâs and your wedding on first June.â
Seeing Tang Yifeng walking toward the door while speaking, Jiang Xuecheng glanced at him carelessly and took another sip of red wine leisurely.
âIf the cash gift is too little, you donât have to come.â
âI befriended the wrong man!â Tang Yifeng thought.
Tang Yifeng was stagnant. He wanted to cry but shed no tears and flashed a smile. âYouâre so rich, it isnât necessary to have your eye on my family wealth, is there?
âIt is necessary.â
Out came three simple words. Although it was a joke, Tang Yifeng was impressed with Jiang Xuecheng. He sighed helplessly and trotted out of the CEO office.
After Tang Yifeng left, Jiang Xuecheng recollected himself and drafted a message to Xu Ziyao.
âWedding ceremony on first June.â
After typing out these words, Jiang Xuecheng did not press the send button. His thin lips pursed tightly and in the end, he deleted the words without saying a single word.
Anyway, he would announce their wedding during the press conference tomorrow. By then, Xu Ziyao and the others in the Jiang family would naturally know the news.
There seemed to be no need for special notice.
***
The next morning at about ten, major domestic media groups in Jiuzhou sent their best reporters to attend the press conference. There were many of them and soon, the press room at Di Chenâs headquarters was crowded.
This timeâs news was really powerful. For the news media, it was a sharp tool to increase their readership and sales volumes.
Putting aside Jiuzhouâs famous Jiang family, even if it was just Lu Group and Director Li Shan, it was enough for this news to take up lots of weight.
Moreover, Jiang Xuecheng did not set too many media access thresholds this time. âOpportunity knocks but once.â How could they miss the golden opportunity to get first-hand information?
The people responsible for arranging the meeting didnât expect the reporters to swarm into the office. If there were too many people, it would be difficult to have a place for everyone to stand!
Hence, the person in charge had no choice but to ask Jiang Xuecheng for instructions on whether they should change the press conference venue to Di Chenâs hall.
Di Chenâs headquarters had a large exhibition hall that could accommodate one thousand people. It was mainly used internally for the employees of the company and had never been used for press conferences.
Jiang Xuecheng immediately agreed to such a trivial matter.
Jiang Xuecheng had asked Su Wan to remain in her office and he would attend the press conference alone because he didnât like her to be exposed in front of the media.
At twelve noon, the press conference started on time.
The large exhibition hall of Di Chen was filled with people. There were also lots of machines by the side.
It was supposed to be noisy with people everywhere but the current exhibition hall was extremely quiet, creating an illusion that one could hear a pin drop.
The door of the exhibition hall suddenly opened and in came an extremely noble and cold man. He was wearing a black suit and he was tall and thin. With his vigorous steps, he entered the vision of the public very quickly.
Many reporters present had seen Jiang Xuecheng in person before but now that they saw him again, they were still shocked by the noble and elegant temperament of this man. They couldnât move their eyes away from him!
There was silence in the hall and the atmosphere was very solemn. After a few seconds of inaction, the photographers quickly set up their camera to begin shooting.
