Asha greeted her two guests, head still burowed into her arms. She didn't want the company right now, she couldn't let anyone see her like this but it was her maker and her best friend. She couldn't exactly throw them out, could she?

"So I take it, the talk didn't go so well with Alex?" Jade asked as she plopped down into one of the chairs opposite to Asha's desk while the high elder took the other.

Asha lifted her head slowly And glared at the brunette DJ sitting across from her. It didn't take long for Jade to realise that the redheaded elder was upset. Asha's flared nostrils, furrowed brows and set jaw told Jade all she needed to know.

"Where do you get off sneaking into my loft, into my bathroom and then forcing my hand to tell Alex about Gabriel!" The redhead began shouting at the brunette DJ.

This wasn't a normal angry Asha. Hell this wasn't even a pissed off Asha. This was beyond anger, bubbling under Asha's skin was pure rage. The DJ shrunk down in her seat, head lowered and eyes cast down as if she was a child being scolded by her parents, and in a way she was.

"I'm sorry I didn't think-" jade had begun to say but Asha jumped to intervene

"Yes you didn't think! Because of you had used your brain for just a millisecond you would have thought to shut your mouth until I was back at the club or maybe used the fucking connection we all have" the elder's voice was dripping in venom, eyes ablaze with fury.

"Now now Asha, jade was merely doing what the high elders told her to do. What I told her to do" the raven haired vampire spoke calmly, unfazed by the other woman's tirade.

"Regardless of who's orders she was following. These is such a thing called respecting someone's privacy and decisions" The fierce vampire added lowering her voice but her tonality remained just as scathing.

Jade scoffed under her breath and chances a sideways glance at Asha only to find her glaring down "if you have anything to say Jade do it." the redhead announced only for the brunette to shake her head in dismissal

Ishtar, wanting to defuse the situation the situation, sent Nade off to check the music selection for the night before opening hours. Once the DJ was well outside of hearing range, Ishtar turned to Asha with a stern look

"An elder always keeps their composure dearest. Even when facing the gravest of errors, this violent outburst can only be perceived as a sign of weakness"

"I'm sorry Ishtar, that was out of line and I should have minded my attitude a lot better" the redheaded vampire sighed and let herself fall heavily into her chair "she might not accept this..." Ishtar breathed as she went for the door

"I know..."

Asha let her words linger as her creator left the office. She didn't make a move or attempt to work, she slumped in her chair and thought of how she could make it up to her mate

Iris has left the underground and returned to her loft near the club. She had everything she needed, all she had to do was rescue Gabriel and go to the witch and break the bond.

She couldn't shake the doubts that overwhelmed her. She could no longer feel Gabriel not communicate with him, the bond lingered between them but there was nothing else there. Just that invisible tie that seemed to drive them further apart.

The verdict has been made and the man that she once was devoted to wholeheartedly was sentenced to death, by lycan bite nonetheless.

Somewhere in her heart Iris knew his death would affect her very little but she wouldn't admit it to herself. The raven haired vampire thought back to Anna Lee and heaved a sigh.

Why couldn't things be easy? She wandered as she wandered in her loft aimlessly, getting Gabriel out of there was going to be the hardest thing she's ever done unless...

Asha had barely sat down once the elder left when her phone began blaring her favorite blonde's ringtone. The redhead hurriedly picked up to answer but was met with groans and whimpers.

A barely audible "help" had been breathed through the phone and a panicked expression marred the vampire's features.

The panic seemed to freeze her into place, she needed to help Alex. She needed to get to Alex but the woman lived nearly across the city.

In her overwhelmed mind, a thought finally struck her; the team she had assigned to watch over Alex!

She forced herself to concentrate on Amira, praying the Arabian beauty wouldn't be too far away

"Amira, Alex is in trouble. Get her to Cheyenne. I'll meet you there" the elder bellowed through the mind link.

She hurriedly grabbed her jacket while dialing the good doctor, making her way out of the club and into her fastback.

The wait was endless after the vampire had carried an unconscious Alexandra into the doctor's clinic. The redhead's rabid pacing and growling forced Cheyenne to banish her into the waiting room.

What was merely minutes felt like hours in Asha's mind, pacing back and forth, digging a trench under her feet.

The doctor walked out of the exam room and sighed heavily "Asha, this is nothing like I've seen before" the doctor paused "the hematoma is spreading rapidly across her chest and she's running an extremely high fever Asha. I don't know what I can do for her other than make her comfortab-"

Cheyenne was cut off by the door swinging open and Ishtar seating in with determination, followed closely by the high elder Bashaa.

"Where's the girl? Hurry Asha we might not have enough time" Amira who had been silent so far bowed her head in reverence to the elders but remained quiet

"Ishtar what the hell is going on?" the redhead nearly shouted desperately but the raven haired elder didn't reply. Instead the immortal father replied "Asha there is something you need to know about Alexandra" he spoke solemnly, his voice grave and weary but the redhead merely furrowed her brows in confusion but spoke nothing

"As you very well know, you all are descendants of me, through Ishtar, Marduk and Arshaka, but Alexandra is also my descendant...through a more basic part of evolution" the original immortal spoke slowly trying to make them understand without having to say it himself

Asha visibly paled at his statement "she's...she's Your offspring?" the redhead whispered to herself, but that didn't explain what was happening to the blonde.

"How would that help her now?" the redhead spoke again, pushing all other thoughts away for now

At the confused look in the redheaded beauty's eyes, Ishtar stepped forward and cleared her throat

"When Gabriel almost drained The girl she was comatose for a while after her vital signs had stabilized, at the time we didn't know who she was, but seeing how much she meant to you..." the vampire let her words linger

"Ishtar what did you do? What did you do to my Alex?!" Asha asked frantically "WHAT DID YOU DO TELL ME" she yelled in a crazed daze

The black haired elder remained quiet for a second "I have her a few drops of my blood. But at the time I had no way of knowing that she had pure blood in her veins. It was only weeks later that Bashaa told me she was a direct descendant"

The last bit of color drained from Asha's face, eyes wide as saucers as the truth sank in. Cheyenne voiced what everyone has been too afraid to say

"So her coma, her body was just adapting to the poison, healing itself and all we had to do was wait? But with Ishtar's blood...it triggered an adverse reaction to Gabriel's poison" Cheyenne mused slowly, a look of pure concentration etched into her face

Asha had crumpled down to the ground, chest right and unable to breath, all she could hear were Alex's frantic and strained heartbeats

Cheyenne kneeled down onto the floor near the redheaded elder and shook her "we can fix this Asha. We can help her but you're going to have to make a tough decision"

Kryptonite green eyes raised to meet grey ones "h-how?" Asha's voice broke

"You'll need to turn her, as soon as possible if you want to save her" the doctor breathed knowing the elder would abhor the idea

But Asha didn't reply. Could she turn Alex into the exact thing she feared?
