Chapter 22: Blossoming Bonds
The Everhart estate was unusually lively that afternoon. Tiara had invited Mia to stay for tea, and Cedric, always eager to tease his sister, decided to join them. Meanwhile, Felix and Lily were busy supervising the household preparations, though their constant bickering seemed to be more entertaining than productive.

The Garden Pavilion
Mia sat across from Tiara, sipping her tea delicately. Her silver hair shimmered in the sunlight, and her red eyes sparkled with curiosity as she watched Cedric fidget with a plate of sweets.
âLady Mia,â Cedric began, offering her a plate of macarons, âdo try these. Theyâre the finest in the kingdom.â
Mia smiled politely, taking one. âThank you, Lord Cedric.â
Tiara, watching the interaction, smirked. âCedric, since when do you care about sweets? Arenât you always stealing mine instead?â
Cedric glared at her. âIâm being hospitable, Tiara. Something you might want to learn.â
âOh, Iâm plenty hospitable,â Tiara retorted, grinning. âI just donât see the point in buttering up my best friend. She already likes me.â
Mia giggled, glancing between the siblings. âYou two are quite the pair. Always bickering but clearly fond of each other.â
Cedric leaned back, a mock-solemn expression on his face. âFond? Mia, sheâs been tormenting me since the day she learned to talk.â
Tiara rolled her eyes. âAnd youâve been stealing my desserts since the day you learned to walk.â
âTouché,â Cedric admitted with a laugh.
Mia, enjoying the banter, found herself relaxing in Cedricâs presence. He was charming in his own way, even if he loved teasing Tiara.
âSo, Lady Mia,â Cedric said, leaning forward, âtell meâhow do you manage to keep Tiara in check? It seems like a monumental task.â
Mia smiled sweetly. âOh, itâs simple. I just remind her that I know all her secrets.â
Tiara gasped. âMia!â
Cedricâs eyes widened. âSecrets, you say? Do tell.â
âDonât you dare,â Tiara warned, narrowing her eyes at Mia.
Mia giggled, holding up her hands in mock surrender. âRelax, Tiara. Your secrets are safe with me.â
âFor now,â Cedric added with a mischievous grin.

The Servantsâ Quarters
Felix and Lily were in the kitchen, supervising the preparation of desserts for the afternoon tea. Or rather, Felix was attempting to supervise while Lily criticized his every move.
âFelix,â Lily said, exasperated, âyou canât just pile the pastries onto the tray like that. They need to be arranged properly.â
âTheyâre going to be eaten, not displayed in a museum,â Felix replied, smirking.
Lily glared at him. âPresentation is important! Honestly, do you know nothing about refinement?â
Felix leaned against the counter, crossing his arms. âAnd here I thought your job was to serve tea, not lecture knights.â
Lily huffed, grabbing the tray from him. âIf I donât do it, who will? Certainly not you.â
Felix watched as she meticulously rearranged the pastries, a small smile tugging at his lips. âYou know,â he said casually, âyouâre surprisingly bossy for someone so small.â
Lily froze, turning to glare at him. âSmall? Iâll have you know Iâm perfectly average height!â
âFor a mouse,â Felix teased.
Lilyâs cheeks flushed with indignation. âIâll show you a mouse,â she muttered, picking up a wooden spoon and pointing it at him.
Felix chuckled, raising his hands in mock surrender. âCareful, Lily. You donât want to start a war you canât win.â
Lily narrowed her eyes. âOh, Iâll win, Felix. Mark my words.â
Despite her annoyance, Felix couldnât help but admire her fiery spirit.

Back in the Garden
As the sun began to set, Cedric stood to leave, offering Mia a charming smile. âLady Mia, itâs been a pleasure. I hope youâll visit more often.â
Mia returned the smile, her cheeks faintly pink. âThank you, Lord Cedric. Iâd love to.â
Tiara watched the exchange with a knowing smirk but said nothing.
As Cedric walked away, Tiara leaned closer to Mia. âYou like him.â
Miaâs eyes widened. âWhat? No, I donât!â
âYou totally do,â Tiara teased, grinning.
Mia shook her head, trying to hide her blush. âYouâre imagining things.â
âAm I?â Tiara said, her grin widening. âWell, I suppose time will tell.â
