Vivek, sensing Gayathri's unease, quickly stood up and walked towards her. "Gayathri, come meet Janaki," he said, trying to sound casual.
Gayathri's eyes narrowed slightly as she looked at Janaki, but she forced a smile and nodded. "Hi, Janaki," she said, trying to sound friendly.
Janaki smiled back, her eyes gleaming with curiosity. "Hi, Gayathri. It's nice to finally meet you."
Vivek, noticing the tension in the air, tried to intervene. "Janaki was just asking about my recovery," he said, trying to steer the conversation in a safer direction.
But Janaki was not to be deterred. "Yes, I was asking Vivek about his hand," she said, her eyes locked on Gayathri's. "But I have to say, I'm impressed by the way you've been taking care of him, Gayathri. Vivek's told me so much about your hard work and dedication."
Vivek jumped in, praising Gayathri to Janaki. "Yes, Gayathri's been amazing. She's been taking care of me and Vaiga, and working hard to keep everything running smoothly. I don't know what I'd do without her."
Gayathri's face flushed with pleasure at Vivek's words, but she couldn't shake off the feeling of unease. Vivek's marriage with Janaki came to her mind.
Vivek, sensing Gayathri's discomfort, put a reassuring arm around her shoulders. "Hey, are you okay?" he whispered, trying to calm her down.
Gayathri nodded, trying to play it cool. "Yeah, I'm fine," she said, forcing a smile.
But Vivek knew better. He could see the tension in her body, the wariness in her eyes. He knew that he had to do something to reassure her, to make her feel safe.Gayathri went upstairs to her room. Vivek also followed her to the room, while his mother was talking with Janki.
Vivek's arm around her shoulders was a comforting weight, but Gayathri couldn't shake off the feeling of unease. She felt like she was living in a nightmare, reliving the memories of Vivek's past marriage to Janaki.
Janaki's presence in their home, her friendly demeanor, it all felt like a threat to Gayathri's happiness. She couldn't help but wonder if Vivek still had feelings for Janaki, if he was still tied to her in some way.
Vivek, sensing Gayathri's doubts, pulled her closer to him. "Hey, I know what you're thinking," he whispered, his voice low and reassuring. "But I want you to know that I'm committed to you, to our family. Janaki is just a friend, she is my child hood freind, nothing more."
Gayathri looked up at Vivek, searching for answers in his eyes. She saw only sincerity and love there, and her heart began to calm down.
"I know," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I just can't help but feel a little insecure, that's all."
Vivek's expression softened, and he pulled Gayathri into a warm hug. "You have nothing to be insecure about," he said, his voice full of conviction. "You are my wife, my partner, my everything. I love you, Gayathri, and I always will."
Gayathri felt a wave of relief wash over her as she hugged Vivek back. She knew that she had to trust him, to believe in their love. And as they stood there, wrapped in each other's arms, Gayathri felt a sense of peace settle over her.
