"Let's go to the next class together." Brian wrapped his arms around my shoulders.
I closed my locker and turned around to face him. Evie was already with me. I was telling her of all the events that happened yesterday.
He was grinning at both Evie and I. His caramel eyes twinkling. He seemed somewhat ecstatic today.
"Brian will you shut up for a moment. I am officially under thinking crisis right now." She turned towards me, her brows furrowed deeply, "What happened next?"
"Am I missing something?" Brian asked seriously.
Evie groaned before hitting him on the head, "I told you to shut up."
"But we'll be late if we don't go to the class right now." He complaint.
Evie groaned loudly before hitting her head lightly on the locker behind her. Brian's eyes moved towards me, looking at me weirdly. He pointed towards her silently and gestured me asking if she had gone mad.
I shook my head laughing.
We were all moving towards our second class right now. And even though I wanted to tell Evie as much as she wanted to hear it, I could not deny the fact that Brian was right. Besides I think even Brian deserves to know.
"I'll tell you both later, alright? Let's keep moving right now." I said pulling Evie away from the locker she was banging her head against. She pouted before she nodded her head at me.
"Let's go." She said.
Brian cleared his throat making us know he was still there with us. Evie rolled her eyes at him before going and ruffling his hair out of no where.
He seemed taken off guard looking at Evie in awe. While I looked at both of them in awe.
He cleared his throat, "You know pandas are the cutest animals."
I couldn't help but cough and stare at him. What was all this about panda suddenly?
Evie seemed as confused as me,
"You are weird you know." She laughed.
Brian looked down flushed. It was rare of him to blush. He would occasionally act weirdly, awkwardly or even stupid. But blushing? No. That wasn't actually him.
He came between me and Evie locking our arms with his, "Let's go ladies."
I giggled before we started walking down the corridor. All the students were going in different directions and it seemed weird walking along with them in this way.
Suddenly Brian stopped making me stop too. I turned towards him in a questioning way.
Why did he stop?
He shook his head at me mouthing it wasn't him and motioned his head towards Evie. It was Evie who stopped.
I was about to open my mouth but I stopped when I saw her lean a little in the front so that we could see each other's face. Her brown hair fell forward covering the sides of her face but she tugged them behind her ear,
"What about the book you took from the library?" She asked concerned.
She seriously stopped to ask me about the book? She stared at me for a while before she spoke,
"What? Don't look at me like that. As much as I hate studying it doesn't mean I hate books, so?"
Brian laughed beside me--shaking his head. Using her books Evie smacked his arm that was linked to hers making him yelp. Then she returned to look at me expectantly,
"I forgot it there!" I answered her--alarmed.
"What?" She asked unbelievably.
"Ha! Just kidding," I laughed. She looked relieved for a moment, "I let Alec take it with him."
The look on her face returned.
I dismissed my hand laughing, "Gotcha again," I took a deep breath before saying in a serious tone, "I left it at home to dry. Luckily enough, it didn't get that wet."
She stuck her tongue at me. Before going back to walking with a smile on her face.
"Princess?"
I stopped in between making my duo stop with me. I turned around to find Alec standing there-- smiling.
The minute I heard Princess, I knew it was him. No one calls me that besides him.
"Alec." I greeted him returning the warm smile.
He walked towards me with his books in one hand. He came and stood in front of me. He looked at Evie and Brian beside me and greeted them,
"I think....we both should keep going, right Brian?" She turned towards Brian expectantly.
Brian narrowed his eyes, "Why? We can't leave Liya alone."
She sighed before pulling him with her, "Yes we can. Why don't you tell me about your favourite animal. Panda?"
I watched her as she took him away from us. I laughed as Brian suddenly got interested and went with her. She turned to me one last time before winking at me.
Why did she wink at me?
I looked back at Alec to find his brows raised, "So, I think I'll walk you to class." He laughed.
I couldn't say no. How can I even? My friends left me, besides Alec is a great guy. He makes me feel comfortable.
"Sure." I nodded my head letting him know I was ready.
He looked around before nodding his head at me. He moved towards me with a smile on his face.
"I had fun yesterday." He said while we walked together with our books in our hands.
"Me too."
He laughed goofily while running his hands through his blonde hair, "Well then I guess I can expect us to hang out sometime again?"
I looked sideways and couldn't help but notice that he was feeling nervous. I was making him feel nervous. And I don't know whether or not I should feel good about it, but I was. It was the first time that I made a guy nervous. Xavier was never nervous around me. And to think I may have that effect on a guy makes me feel somewhat happy.
I was ready to hangout with Alec. He is a fun to hang around with. Unlike some dipshit I know he cares about my feelings.
"No, I don't think so."
It was a heavy deep voice that interrupted us. Both Alec and I seemed taken off guard.
We both looked in the front together to find Xavier standing there with his hands folded in front of him. His hair were disheveled as always.
His hazel eyes turned towards me and fixed me in my spot with their intesity.
What was wrong with him? He is the one who wanted me to stay away from him and yet he is the one who never leaves me alone.
If only he would have picked that call up. Checked up on me. It would have given me the satisfaction. It would have meant a lot to me.
And it is not about being mad. I was hurt. I am still hurt.
"Xavier?" Alec looked happy upon seeing him, "What are you doing here?"
Xavier's eyes shifted towards Alecs' and glared holes into him, "Telling you to keep your distance from her."
My eyes widened at what came out of his mouth. Is he joking? What is he planning? What is in his mind? I don't understand him.
He confuses me so much.
Alec thought he was joking so he laughed before realizing it was no joke,
"For real?" He asked seriously.
Xavier nodded his head subtly, "For real."
By now a large group of students had gathered around us. Their eyes on us. I felt uncomfortable under their eyes so I held onto Alec's arms lightly.
I looked back at Xavier and saw him staring at my hands that were wrapped around Alec's arms now. He gritted his teeth and clenched his jaw tight.
"Well no. That is not happening. Who are you to decide anyways?" Alec replied to Xavier while putting his other hand on mine.
If I thought Xavier's eyes couldn't turn more darker than they were right now then I was wrong because they were the darkest they have ever been. His aura right now was screaming danger.
He clenched his hands into fist as if ready to throw a punch any moment now. I couldn't help but notice his bruised knuckles.
"I am asking you something. Who are you?" Alec said loud enough for everyone to hear even three corridors away from us.
I looked around once again at all the people who seemed too interested in what was going on here than their classes.
I didn't even noticed but I felt Xavier too close to us before I was pulled away from Alec by my arm and being smashed into a hard body. I could still feel his hands on my arm-- holding on too tight.
"You keep your hands away from her." Xavier growled in a threatening voice.
I felt Alec's hands on my arm as he tried to pull me back but Xavier won't let him, making me stay close to his chest ,
"I said you keep your hands away from my fiance." He growled again in a voice so threatening that anyone would be running for their life right now.
"What?" I could hear the shock in Alec's voice as his grip loosened on my arm.
There were whispering all around us as people started talking about it. About us. Their so famous golden boy's one true love. Ha!
I thought he wanted to keep us a secret. I thought he didn't want anyone to know. He asked me not to tell anyone and there he is telling...no announcing to the whole school that I was his fiance.
Xavier Reed really knows how to play with the feelings.
I tried to break away from his grip but he won't let me. God damnit leave me!
Finally I pushed him away from me, breathing heavily.
"Is it true?" I heard Alec's voice. I knew he was hurt.
I turned around and found Alec looking at me hurt-- expecting an answer. I was about to open my mouth before I was cut short,
"It is. She is my Fiance." Xavier came and stood behind me. He put his hands on my shoulder but I slapped it away from me.
The next thing I knew he wrapped his arms around my shoulder in a protective way,
"No one. And I mean no one dare lay so much as a hand on her." Xavier threatened everyone around us.
In any other normal circumstance I would have been on cloud nine for knowing Xavier finally called me his fiance in front of everyone.
But this, right now, wasn't so easy. I had a guy in front of my eyes who seemed hurt and I don't even know why but betrayed too! And I cared for him.
And most of all I was hurt by Xavier. For the awkwardness he created. For acting weird. For playing with my feelings.
I don't know what got into me but I chose the most sensible option I found at that time.
I stepped away from him. Looking at him with all the emotion I felt. Even he seemed confused and before he could even comprehend what was wrong and before the people around us could get enough of their gossip.
My hand was already against Xavier's face. I slapped him. I slapped Xavier Reed hard across his face.
I don't know if I did wrong or right but one thing was for sure...a pair of hazel eyes were trying to pierce my soul through their glaring.
And just like that there was a sharp intake of breath around us.
To which Xavier actually seemed upset. Because the next thing I knew I was being pulled away from the crowd by my elbow. His grip tight.
