Chapter 45 (Will you sleep with me?)
On the way to the square, Lariette, who was walking ahead, continued to glance at Asrazan.
She was going to convince him to just go back to the mansion if I saw that he was having a bit of trouble. It was because she thought it was still too much to enjoy dancing with a bare face.
However, despite her concerns, Asrazanâs face was slightly stiffer than usual, but there was no hesitation in taking each step.
It wasnât because he wasnât really afraid. Still, peopleâs eyes pecked at his skin, and the smell of a corpse emanating from him seemed to linger around his nostrils.
However, the reason Asrazan could not hesitate was Larietteâs small hand holding him firmly and leading him.
âI canât believe this day has come to me.â
His lips trembled softly with the rising emotion. No matter how many times he looked around, he couldnât believe it.
People looked at Asrazanâs face and didnât show any hate. Rather, they sent an eye close to envy or admiration.
A positive interest I hadnât received since I was very young. To Asrazan, it was so unfamiliar and kind, and it felt like something was overflowing in my heart.
But what made him more fulfilling than all this was the presence of his lover in front of him.
The warmth felt through the palm of his hand, the round eyes that curve nicely whenever they eyes meet, and the shiny pink hair that glistens to the beat with every step you take.
There were so many things that I couldnât mention that all the elements that made up Lariette were infinitely beautiful and touching.
Asrazan looked at her carefully, regretting even the blink of an eye, as if he was going to keep all of her in his head.
âAsrazan, it must have already begun!â
Can you hear the music? Lariette added, raising her eyebrows as if she was impatient.
Asrazan found even the urgency to be cute and put on a faint smile on his lips. Either way, Lariette was busy leading him, saying letâs go.
âItâs really good, isnât it? If you think itâs going to be a little difficult, tell me right away!â
âItâs really good. Arenât you with me?â
âUgh, itâs cheating to smile so handsomely!â
If it had been done by someone else, I would have shuddered and said it was absurd, but when Asrazan burst into laughter with his handsome looks, it immediately became probable.
Lariette hurriedly reached out and covered his face, saying he was beyond the level of handsomeness she could endure. I only saw a smile once, but my heart fluttered.
As we approached the square, the music grew louder. It was a slightly upbeat yet romantic song befitting the spring festival.
âWowâ¦!â
As soon as I came out of the road leading to the square, I could see the elaborately decorated ball. A groan burst out of Larietteâs mouth without realizing it.
There were a lot of flower trees and flowerpots, and it was full of the fragrant smell of flowers, and cute lights embroidered the night sky with countless twinkling stars.
People wearing cute masks dressed in simple clothes and went round and round the square to the music. Others sat at the outdoor tables of the restaurant surrounding the square and drank while watching the dancers.
It was a shockingly unfamiliar and beautiful appearance to Lariette, who had only been to noblesâ parties. Bright faces enjoying the dance to their heartâs content without formality entered her mind as if stuck in her head.
Even for Asrazan, who rarely attended any party, this scene was equally moving. His heart was pounding with anticipation.
âAsrazan, letâs dance too!â
Lariette pulled Asrazanâs hand with a bright smile on her face. I wanted to quickly join that happy group.
Asrazan hesitated but moved to the center of the square according to her intentions. But he suddenly stopped with a sad expression on his face.
âLariette. Thereâs something I havenât been able to tell you.â
âHuh? What is it?â
Lariette asked with a bewildered expression. I thought it was still too much.
I wanted to enjoy this pleasant atmosphere alone. However, Lariette was a loyal person, and conscience did not allow her to be alone with his anxious lover.
But it was unavoidable that I felt regretful in my heart.
Lariette tried hard not to show even a single glitch of regret by showing a gloomy expression on her face. I didnât want to put more pressure on Asrazan, who would still be sorry.
But what followed was something she didnât expect.
âI⦠I canât dance well.â
His expression and voice were so mournful that he almost seemed to be confessing a crime of treason.
It was a serious matter for Asrazan. In fact, it was closer to not being able to dance at all, not to the level of not being able to dance well. It must be so, because there were so few things to dance to in his life that he could count in his hand.
He was a rare person to go to a party in the first place. Unless it was a mandatory diplomatic or royal party, he didnât even think about going, and even if there was an obligation, he ignored it.
I did not want to meet nobles who were busy fluttering in front of them and laughing at them from behind. It was impossible to dance with the young girls who secretly covered their noses with fans saying he smelled terrible.
âIf I had known that a moment like this would come, I would have practiced at home, aloneâ¦.â
Asrazan bowed his head like a dead dog and regretted it.
I learned it as a basic skill when I was very young, but it was so long ago and I had so little experience that I didnât have the confidence to lead her well. No, it was at a level I was lucky if I didnât embarrass myself, let alone lead.
âFuha, what are you so worried about?â
However, Lariette burst out laughing as if she had heard a funny joke and grabbed his hand. It didnât matter if he could dance well or not.
âLetâs just have fun together!â
Soon we reached the center of the square, in the crowd of dancing. People looked at them for a while, who came to the ball without a mask, but they admired their appearance for a while and didnât pay much attention.
Lariette turned around and grabbed Asrazanâs two hands. Then she started to lead him naturally.
She moved her feet to a cheerful beat. It was a light movement, as if bouncing.
Itâs a dance that improvises according to the song without being bound by a set format. It was a look that could not be found at the nobilityâs party.
Asrazan moved awkwardly to her dance. He wondered what would happen if he stepped on her foot, but that didnât happen.
He thanked himself briefly, believing it to be due to the speed and agility he had learned in the war. Even at this moment, Asrazan was thinking of war.
Soon, the upbeat song ended and new music started playing. It was a more romantic and soft melody than before.
As the song changed, so did the way people danced. Masked lovers put their hands on each otherâs bodies and started spinning.
Lariette stopped for a moment and looked up at Asrazan with her purple eyes twinkling. It was the look he sees when she has something she wants.
And it was so obvious what she wanted now.
Asrazan slowly raised his hand and wrapped it around Larietteâs waist. Her thin waist was almost completely covered by his large hands.
Lariette smiled softly as if praising his actions. Then she placed her hand on his chest and overlapped his body.
Like other lovers, they entrusted themselves to the beautiful melody and enjoyed the moment. The faint scent of flowers spread and the scarlet light lit them up. It looked like a painting.
âAsrazan.â
Is it because of the atmosphere? Once again, the words that came up from the depths of her heart tickled the tip of Larietteâs tongue.
I have to be patient, I have to be patient⦠Lariette bit her lip and tried to hold it in, but it was impossible.
âI like youâ
Eventually, she spit her emotions out again. While she was worried that Asrazan would feel burdened.
Fortunately, upon hearing her words, Asrazan gently rolled his lips and smiled. Then he opened his mouth in response.
âLariette.â
The handsome face, blunt and emotionless, now was so friendly that I couldnât even remember it. Asrazan looked at her, sweet honey seemed to drip from his eyes.
Lariette opened her mouth slightly, looked up at him, and waited for the next word.
âIâ¦.â
Pugh-! pop!
However, at that moment, due to the sound of firecrackers fired from the square, she could not hear the important part. To make matters worse, there was a lot of cheering from people, so it was difficult to ask him to repeat it.
However, Asrazan still had a very tender smile, so Lariette thought that this was all right.
âIt must have been that I liked you too.â
It was probably so, given the circumstances. It was a pity that I couldnât hear it in a low and attractive voice, but it was a satisfactory moment, so Lariette smiled happily.
Then, a familiar yet shameful feeling overflowed in Asrazanâs blue eyes. The name of the emotion was lust, and his gaze was fixed on her reddish lips.
âCan I kiss you?â
Asrazan lowered his voice and asked. It was a ferocious and seductive voice that made my body shrink.
He bowed his head without even hearing an answer. Itâs like itâs hard to bear even for a second.
And Lariette hurriedly stretched out her hand.
âWhere are you going!â
Lariette pressed his lips with the palm of her hand, preventing him from coming any closer. I was kissed on the street only a few dozen minutes ago, but I couldnât do it again.

He grinned contentedly with the joy that she had defended his lips swiftly and splendidly. Then he stuck out his tongue playfully.
Seeing this, Asrazan raised one eyebrow and narrowed his eyes, staring intently at Lariette. He seemed to be thinking about whether to overpower this small and weak hand and take her lips.
However, if Lariette refused, he couldnât dare to kiss her carelessly. He didnât want to create the slightest chance that she would hate him.
But I couldnât help doing nothing. I had to do anything to control this seething mind.
So, Asrazan grabbed Larietteâs hand and pulled her closer. Then I pressed my lips to the palm of her hand. Like kissing there.
While he kissed the palm of her hand, his gaze was fixed on Larietteâs face. When the eyes full of heat met, Larietteâs cheeks instantly heated up.
âWhat are you doing!â
Lariette hurriedly pulled out her hand and raised her voice. It was even more embarrassing because it was the first time she had kissed a hand without gloves, and it was so intense.
The rough and ticklish touch that touched the palm of the hand even though it was bitten was vivid. I was under the illusion that it was still touching.
â⦠Donât you like it?â
Asrazan dropped his eyebrows and asked as if he was a growling lion. I was about to shed tears if I said no.
âItâs not that I donât like itâ¦.â
âThen can I do it on your lips this time?â
When Lariette lost momentum, Asrazan quickly changed his attitude. Suddenly, his expression became ferocious again.
When he re-confirmed that he was more natural and skillful than before, Larietteâs mood again deteriorated. I felt like I was losing control of the relationship.
âIâm not going to do this until the end!â
It was clear that he would not save himself by blaming the curse. Lariette pursed her lips and glared at him.
Seeing the languid and disgusting smile on Asrazanâs face filled her heart with a desire to torment him.
Therefore, Lariette spit out a bombshell with a proud expression on her face.
âAsrazan, would you like to sleep with me?â
Of course, it was Asrazan who was embarrassed this time.
The emptiness disappeared from his face in an instant. His charmingly curved lips hardened, and his blue pupils trembled at first glance.
The meaning of âsleepâ could not simply be just sleep. Without realizing it, a scene was drawn in his head, and Asrazanâs body quickly heated up.
Lariette enjoyed his embarrassment and continued speaking slowly.
ââItâs shameless of you to kiss without that determination.â
âLarie, Lariette Iâ¦.â
âItâs aâ¦â
Asrazan tried to make an excuse, but Lariette firmly stopped talking. Then she uttered the same sound as a bolt from the blue.
âNo kissing for a while.â
It was the most terrifying punishment for Asrazan.
He was shocked and stared at Lariette with empty eyes. But Lariette shook her head as if she had no intention of bending her heart.
âReally, itâs prohibited!â
Lariette finished the conversation with a refreshing smile.
However, in fact, she was always the one who longed for touch, so the âprohibitedâ she spoke of was shorter than anyone could have expected. Not being able to kiss him was terrifying for Lariette, so it was natural.
But Asrazan was unaware of this, Larietteâs punishment was far more effective than he had expected.
To make Asrazan anxious.
