I blushed on how my friends looked at me with those grins on their faces. Sam has volunteered to do my make up tonight. I didn't turn it down because I'm really pleased with her make up skills before. I believed that she has a talent for this.
But I didn't say to her, so she won't boast like a freak.
"You sure? I don't looked weird?" I assured. Oh course, it's better to be sure.
But with the way they're looking at me with those adoration in their eyes tonight, I know I can trust them.
"I'm a bit offended, huh?" My eyes turned to Sam who pouted. "I made you extra beautiful today, but you doubted my skills.."
"Oh no. That's not what I meant.." I immediately approached her.
She just pouted her lips and nodded. But the disappointment was written on her face.
"Sam.." I shook her arm, trying to get her attention. "Okay, I won't ever try to get in your way tonight. Promise,"
I even raised my right hand like a freakin' childish in front of her. I don't know but sometimes, I just really need to join her crazy acts.
She immediately smiled after that and I was surprised when she held both of my cheeks. "W-what are you d-doing?"
"Let's change your lipstick on a red one," She smirked.
Oh my god. This is what I hate! She's taking advantage of the situation!
"Oh, the birthday boy is here!" Jessy announced which made me startled.
"I'll open the door," Gia said.
I watched her slowly pulling the thick door that is made from wood. And before she could open it, I was thankful that Sam was already done with my lipstick.
"Good evening, Jacob." Gia greeted with a sweet smile. "Happy birthday,"
"Thank you.."
Jacob who is now wearing a gray suit that was shouting for it's high quality material enters the room. His perfectly aligned shoulders were being so attractive as it emphasized his fit body in his blazer. His khaki button down dress looked so hot as he opened the three button on the upper part of his body.
He slowly walked towards me, wearing his handsome smile. His cool personality was now standing out in his black ripped jeans and his black boots.
Well, I know him. He doesn't wear slacks just like the others guys out there.
It fits him very well and he's also good in choosing a clothes to wear. His thick and shiny hairs are also flowing down in his eyes, but to me it made him more looked good with it.
"You're so handsome.." I blurted out, I guess I was back on being a straightforward again.
He chuckled. "If you only know..I hate wearing this,"
He moved his shoulders and I could see how he's not comfortable with those clothes. Oh well, he's really the kind of person who's comfortable with lose shirts and most of his shirts are black.
He scanned my whole body, I was a bit conscious because he's looking at me like I'm the most beautiful girl that he have ever seen. His eyes were shining so bright tonight. It would be bad of me to ruin his moment so I just let him..stare at me like that..
I bit my lower lip and blushed. He's been looking at me intently which he hasn't ever done before. Goddamn it.
"You looked.." He paused. I also saw him swallowed hard before his eyes stared at my face. "Beautiful.."
I heard the giggles of my friends which made me feel embarrassed. They're like a teenagers whining like they only saw two people complimenting each other.
I'll just pretend that they're not here.
And how is that?
I bit my lower lip, "T-thank you.." I smiled.
His eyes sparked and I tried to ignore it again. No. Maybe he's just flustered with my look tonight. Sam shouldn't made me extra-beautiful tonight. I might attract a lot of attention later.
"You should come to us ladies, I'll drive you there.." Noah looked at my friends. "You all shined in this beautiful night, ladies.."
I rolled my eyes, I'm not used to him being this sweet. He's always been so annoying and I can't stand his attitude sometimes. But I think, I should just let him since it's his birthday tonight.
"Oh my, thank you! Of course, but Raine was more beautiful tonight!" Sam said. She even winked at me.
"But I am more sexy!" Jessy laughed.
This witch.
"You're not gonna last a day without complimenting yourself, huh?" Gia sarcastically said to Jessy.
"Of course!" Jessy laughed again.
Oh god. They're some living cockroaches I guess..
"You should go first. Our friends has their own car, we'll just going to use it on the way there.." Gia smiled and gave me a meaningful smile.
Damn. They're setting me up!
"Then, we're going now.. Be careful on your way, don't hesitate to call us if something happens okay?" Jacob reminded like he's our oldest brother.
I smiled secretly, he's kinda perfect for a good brother.
"Okay, sure!" Jessy said in a flirt way.
I pursed my lips. "You should behave tonight. Sam, Gia.. You should guard this bitch tonight.."
I looked at the two but their face seemed like untrusted. They're just grinning like some thugs. Oh god.
"Go. We'll be going next," Sam pushed us to the door.
I was surprised when Jacob held my hand and placed it around his arm. He smiles at me before saying goodbye to my friends.
"See you there," He said as we finally got out of the apartment.
My friends will surely prepare first. I know they won't let themselves go there with those bare faces. They're too alike with each other to the point that they shop for different cosmetics everytime we go out.
"Thank you allowing me to become your partner.." Jacob said as soon as we entered his car.
I blushed. I'm a bit nervous to give my gift since I'm holding it right now. I placed it on a big paperbag but its size were too obvious that it's a ball. It can also add that it's really huge.
"This is nothing compared to everything that you've done for me. I don't even know how to repay you.." I looked down.
Yeah. That's right. I know he have endured enough to make my life better and easy. I'm always thankful for that. I cannot even afford to see him hurt because of me, it would surely break my heart.
"Kindness isn't always meant to repay. It's voluntarily which can really make a person feel so special and loved," he deeply said while looking at my eyes. "So, you shouldn't think that you're obliged to return the kindness that I have shown.. It came from my heart and my intention was clean.."
He cupped my face and smiles. I know his intentions was meant to protect me. I really appreciated it. And I'm here to make him happy in his special day.
"Your friends really made some effort from planning and designing everything. I'm really grateful.."
"They're really like that. They always put some effort just to make someone feel happy even if it's not that big. They're content to see a satisfying smile to every people they wished to have a good life.."
"I can see that," he smiles. "And you're the most precious person that they ever give to me.."
"Chessy, huh?" I teased but I can feel the heat around my face.
Damn it.
"Just please, don't laugh at it. Hmm?" He chuckled.
"Okay, okay. Since it's your birthday.." I smirked. "Here,"
I gave him my gift. I just thought about it and I think this is the best time and the best place to give it. People might laugh at me if they ever saw my gift.
"Damn. This is so cool!" He immediately smiles as soon as he opened the paperbag. "It's a ball! Wow.. And there's a signature!"
"You didn't have to react like that--"
I was surprised when he suddenly hugged me. Was he that happy? I just laughed and hugged him back.
"This is really cool, Raine! Best gift ever!"
I laughed at his exaggeration again. "You haven't opened the other gifts yet but you're already claiming that it's the best,"
He hissed. "Don't try to contradict me okay? Just for tonight,"
I bet he's pouting so I just nods and laughed. Oh god, he's such a cutie.
We arrived at his building in just a few minutes. I wasn't surprised to see some guests since we only invited our schoolmates and friends. Harry and Marco was already here, they're in charged with the drinks and foods while Jennie was preparing for the small program on the roof deck.
"Happy birthday.." I whispered on Jacob's ear as soon as we arrived at the roof deck.
Our friends was already there. Gia was wearing a casual dress while Jessy was wearing a sexy and a fitted dress, emphasizing her sexy curves.
"Raine!"
And I was pleased to see how my best friend looks so good in her thin strapped white dress which made her looked like an angel tonight. Her light make up was perfect with her clothes.
"HERE'S OUR CAMPUS COUPLE! HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACOB!"
The people shouted as soon as we arrived. I was really embarrassed and conscious as their attentions we're focused on us. My heart beat was racing so goddamn fast and I can't help but to close my eyes.
Shit.
But I felt a hand intertwining it with his fingers. I looked up to face him and saw Jacob giving me a smile that made me feel at ease. A smile that's telling me that it's okay..
Damn.. This is nuts. I must be hallucinating now. This isn't true..
I saw a figure of a person standing behind Jacob, looking at me with those painful gaze. I swallowed hard as I battled of stare with him. It's been a while since I saw him..
He hasn't changed at all..
