The morning after their shared moment under the stars, the world was waking up in its usual quiet rhythm. The sun, now fully risen, cast a soft glow over the landscape. It painted the sky in delicate hues of pink and lavender, its fingers stretching lazily over the hills and valleys. The air was fresh, untouched by the day's burdens, as if the world itself were holding its breath, waiting for something more.

Arabella stirred from her sleep, the warmth of the cave still lingering in the air around them. The night had passed in peaceful silence, the two of them curled together under the cover of blankets, a barrier against the world, the cold, and the weight of everything they had left behind. Now, in the quiet morning, Arabella felt both the weight and the lightness of her new reality—the journey ahead and the love she had found in Alexander.

She turned to her side, her gaze falling on him as he slept. His face was peaceful, his brow unfurrowed, a soft breath escaping from his lips. There was something so endearing about the way he looked in the early morning light—vulnerable and strong at once, a poet in the most intimate sense of the word. He had always had a way of seeing the world through a different lens, capturing its essence in ways others could not, but in this moment, he was simply a man—a man who had shared his heart with her, a man who had become the center of her world.

Arabella could not help but smile. There was no doubt in her mind now that she had chosen the right path, the one that led her to him, despite the risks, despite the uncertainty. For love, she had learned, was never without its trials. But it was also a fire that burned brightly, even in the darkest of times.

As she rose to her feet, the chill of the morning air kissed her skin, and she wrapped her arms around herself, savoring the quiet beauty of the moment. She could hear the soft lapping of waves against the shore, the distant cry of seagulls, and the rustling of leaves as the wind stirred through the trees. It was the kind of peace she had never known before, and it felt so wonderfully unfamiliar.

She walked to the mouth of the cave, her bare feet sinking into the cool earth, and paused to take in the view. The coastline stretched out before her, the vast expanse of the sea endless and unbroken. The horizon seemed to stretch into eternity, as though the world itself were a canvas, ready to be painted with their love.

Alexander's voice broke the silence, soft and gentle as he called her name. She turned to see him sitting up, rubbing his eyes, a soft, sleepy smile curling on his lips. There was something so beautiful in the way he looked at her,as though she were the only thing worth seeing, the only thing that mattered in the entire world.

"Good morning, my muse,"he said, his voice low and warm. "I didn't expect to wake up and find you so far away."

Arabella smiled, her heart swelling with affection. "I was just thinking," she said, walking back toward him, her footsteps light on the earth. "About us. About everything that has led me here."

He looked at her with the same intensity that always made her feel seen, truly seen. His eyes were full of that endless depth, that endless ocean of emotion that always seemed to overflow when he looked at her. He reached out a hand, and she took it without hesitation, her fingers intertwining with his.

"You think too much," he teased gently, pulling her closer to him. "Come, sit with me for a moment. The world can wait."

Arabella settled beside him,the warmth of his body a welcome comfort against the cool air. They sat in silence for a few moments, their hands still intertwined, their breaths mingling in the stillness of the morning.

"I love you," Alexander said suddenly, his voice soft but certain, as though the words had always been there, waiting to be spoken.

Arabella's heart fluttered at the sincerity in his voice. "I love you too," she replied, her words as simple as they were true. "More than I ever thought possible."

He turned to her then, his  face serious, his gaze intense. "Arabella, do you ever wonder what comes next? What we'll do when we reach the next town, when we can no longer hide from the world, from your father?"

Her stomach tightened at the thought, but she didn't pull away. She couldn't. She was tied to him now, bound by something far stronger than fear.

"I don't know," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "But I know that I'll face it with you. As long as you're by my side, nothing else matters."

Alexander nodded slowly, his thumb brushing gently over the back of her hand. He leaned in closer, his breath warm against her ear as he spoke.

"We have each other,Arabella. That's all we need." His words were calm, steady, but there was a flicker of something in his eyes, something deeper, more intense. "But I want more. I want the world to know that I am yours, and you are mine."

Her heart skipped a beat."What are you saying?"

"I want to be yours in every way," he said, his voice hushed, as though the words themselves were sacred. "I want to marry you, in the most poetic way. I want to give you everything I have, all that I am. You are my muse, my love, my heart.I can't imagine a life without you in it. You are everything to me,Arabella."

Tears welled in her eyes at his words, but she didn't speak. She couldn't. She was lost in the enormity of what he had said, in the depth of the love he had offered. She had never imagined that this could be her life—that she could have something so pure, so unblemished, so unbreakable.

Without a word, she kissed  him, her lips trembling as they met his. It was a kiss of promise, of eternity, of a future yet to be written. In that kiss, they sealed their bond, their love—a love that was impossible to ignore, impossible to extinguish.

As they pulled away,Alexander's eyes were bright with a mixture of joy and uncertainty, ready to ask his precious love for her soft and gentle hand properly "Arabella, will you marry me?"

The question hung in the air like the sweetest melody, the answer already written in her heart.

"Yes, Mockingbird" she whispered, her voice thick with emotion. "Yes, I will."
