Chapter 8: Cabin Fever

The MatchMaker (YEONGYU FF)Words: 11398

"We're here!" Yena wakes me from my deep slumber, and my head was rested against the bus's window.

"Oh?." I sit up, looking outside to see the principal office of the mountains.

"Come on, guys!" Yena taps Yeonjun, who was sleeping as well; he slowly opens his eyes.

"Where's Beomgyu?" I ask, looking around the bus.

" He's already waiting outside."

I sling my blue bag over my shoulder, stepping off the bus. The air was slightly cold; it felt good to feel the breeze sweep across my face.

I glanced over to see Beomgyu standing there, his nose and cheeks slightly red from the cold weather.

"Are you okay?" I ask, walking toward him.

"I'm fine, and It's just a little cold." He rubs his nose.

"You all ready to check-in?" Yena asks, already near the office door; We all nod and follow her inside.

"Hello, How many I help you?" The Older man spoke.

"We are here to check in to cabin 12."

"May I have all your names?"

"Choi Beomgyu, Choi Yeonjun, Park Soona, and Jeon Park Yena."

"I see; your names are all here. Can I please see all of your IDs?" He asks; we all look at each other.

"Did you bring yours?" I ask both Beomgyu and Yeonjun.

"No." they both said at the same time.

"We only need one, miss." The man speaks up; Yena gives him her ID care. He scans it to the computer and hands it back.

"Here's the key; checkout is Friday at 1 pm." He hands the minor key to her.

"Is there a bus we can take?" She asks.

"There's a ski lift to the right of this office; take route 3." He informed.

"I'm scared," Beomgyu says beside me.

"It's okay, and you won't be alone," I reassured him.

"Guys, there's a two-person limit per cart." Yena points at the sign.

"Yena and I can go first, so we can show you it's safe," I suggested.

"No! I mean. Can I go with you?" Beomgyu clung to my arm.

Was he still scared of Yeonjun? I think so...

"Ah, my stomach." I gripped my stomach.

"Are you okay?" He asks, looking.

"I think my breakfast must come up, and I don't think you should ride with me." I lied.

"I-I'll go with Yeonjun then!" He let's go of me. Yena was smirking at the side of me at what tricks I just did.

"We'll go now! See you on the other side!" Yena pulls me along inside the cart, hitting the button.

"That was clever what you did." She chuckles.

"I'm so smart, I know." I rubbed off my shoulder.

"Ah, too confident. Look, we're halfway there." She points toward the other side.

"I wonder if they get along." Yena ponders.

"I think they'll eventually become good with each other." I sighed. My work was so hard this time.

"We made it." The cart stopped, the doors opened, revealing the ground.

"Yay! now, let's wait for them." We stood side by side, looking at the other side of the mountain.

Yena started waving toward them, Yeonjun held a thumb up.

-POV of Beomgyu and Yeonjun-

"They made it, and it's safe, right?"

Beomgyu asks, looking at the waving girls.

"Yes, it's our turn now; let's go." Yeonjun lightly pulled Beomgyu's jacket sleeve.

"I can't look." Beomgyu covered his eyes once inside the cart.

"You're fine, and you won't die alone." Yeonjun joked.

"Is that suppose to make me feel better?" Beomgyu whined.

"Look, it's not bad." Yeonjun removed Beomgyu's hand from his eyes.

Beomgyu slowly looked around the windows, eventually finally looking at the surrounding mountains.

"It's beautiful." He smiled; his smile faded once he looked downward, seeing the height.

"I can't!" He covered his eyes again.

"This guy.." Yeonjun mumbled under his breath.

The cart was approaching the other end, Beomgyu was still covering his eyes.

"We are almost there," Yeonjun says, sighing.

The cart suddenly jolted to a stop, making Beomgyu fall into Yeonjun as the doors opened.

-Yena and Soona POV-

The cart finally approached us, but a sudden jolt made Beomgyu practically fall into Yeonjun.

The door opened, revealing Beomgyu clinging to Yeonjun's jacket. His head was buried into Yeonjun's chest.

Yeonjun looked shocked at the event that just occurred.

"T-This cart is too old." Yeonjun stuttered while lightly pushing Beomgyu away.

"R-Right." Beomgyu stumbled out of the cart, and his knees must be weak.  His face was still red because of the cold, or maybe because of what just happened...

Yena was looking cheekily at the two, smiling a little too much.

"Yena." I lightly nudged her arm to get her out of the deep thought.

"ah, right, the cabin is just ahead about two miles." She remembers.

"Let's go then." Yeonjun begins walking ahead of us three.

" Someone's in a rush." Yena follows behind him.

"Beomgyu?" I snapped my fingers in front of him, he blinks.

"Sorry, let's go." He begins walking ahead of me.

He seems a little distraught after what just happened, or maybe he's scared of the heights still.

I eye Yena as she picked up some snow from the ground; she began making it into a ball.

Don't tell me she's-

Yena suddenly throws the snowball at the back of Yeonjun.

She did.

Yeonjun turns around to the laughing Yena and Beomgyu.

"Did you just throw that?" Yeonjun asks in disbelief.

"Yes, I did." Yena proudly says.

Suddenly, Yeonjun's hand comes flying from around his back to reveal a snowball. He threw it at Yena, the snow going all in her hair.

"You! Just wait!"

Yena yelled, bending down preparing another snowball.

"Let's go!" Beomgyu grabbed my hand and began running away from the fight breaking out.

Snow was flying back and forth, tiny specs going into their hairs.

Yena's face was red from the cold snow touching her cheeks.

"Let's slow down, and they might get lost," I suggested as Beomgyu was still running.

"Sorry, I didn't want them to hurt anyone." He catches his breath, and the air was too cold for breathing in your lungs this fast.

The air burned my chest as I breathed, my eyes clasping shut.

"Are you okay?" He asks.

"Yes, It's just freezing." I opened my eyes again.

"Let's sit and wait for them." He walks toward a tree, sitting below it.

BG: "I'm glad we came here."

"I'm glad you agreed. It would be hectic to deal with them alone." I laughed, sitting beside him.

BG: "I've never been to the mountains."

"Really? I've been three times."

BG:" I never got the chance to go; I've always been too concern about my grades."

"I'm glad you decided to take a vacation with us; you deserved it." I patted his back.

BG: "How far do you think the cabin is?"

"Maybe a few miles?"

BG: "How long should we wait? We become colder the longer we sit."

"Let's wait three more minutes."

We sat there, looking ahead, waiting for the two to come walking up. I watched the cold air blowing through the green trees. It looked like a movie scene, so white and pure.

BG: "It's been two minutes."

"Really? Did we run that far?"

BG:" We should get moving; I'm sure they will not get lost."

"Okay, let's walk slowly, though." We stand up, and I brush the snow off of my backside.

"When we get to the cabin, we all should drink hot chocolate," Beomgyu suggests.

"Ah, you're talking about it already; it's making me crave it."

BG: "Sorry, I'll make you some when we arrive."

"I can make it myself, and you need to rest after today." I offered.

BG: "I think I recovered now."

"I-" Beomgyu suddenly stumbles toward me, his foot twisted in the snow. He fell into my side, making us both fall to the ground. Luckily the ground was covered in snow, so it didn't hurt that bad.

"Are you okay?" I sit up, holding my head. I noticed his foot still below the snow.

"I think my foot got stuck." He winced.

"Let me see." I started scooping the snow out from around his ankles.

"I think it's a hole you fell into." I looked, seeing the small hole under the snow.

"That's my luck." He sighed.

"Let me help you." I grabbed his ankle, slowly pulling it out of the hole.

"Your ankle is red, and I think you twisted it." I examined his red ankle, and it looked like it began to turn purple.

"oh my gosh." He looks with wide eyes.

"Does it hurts to move?" I ask; he tried to move his ankle but immediately clasped it with his hand.

"Wait, I can help you." I stand up, grabbing his arm.

"I-It's fine. I can do it." He slowly shifted his weight to his left foot to stand; I noticed his face begin to show pain as he placed the right foot down.

"Let me, don't push yourself." I grabbed his arm.

"Soona, Beomgyu!" Yena yells, running toward us with Yeonjun.

"What happened?!" Yena yelled.

"He twisted his ankle in a hole."

YN: "Oh my god, can you walk?"

"I think I can't." Beomgyu glances around at us three.

"Yeonjun, Can you carry him on your back?" I asked.

"I can." He nodded.

Once beomgyu was successfully on his back, we could continue our hike to the cabin.

YN: "We should get moving before this snow gets worse."

"Let's go." Yeonjun nods, walking forward.

"Does it still hurt?" Yena asks.

"A little." Beomgyu answers.

YN: "We'll arrive soon, then we can wrap it."

We finally saw the cabin; once we got to the door, Yena unlocks it. She pushes the door open and helps Beomgyu off of Yeonjun's back.

"Thank you for carrying me, and thank you, Soona, for carrying my bag." He bowed toward me.

"Don't thank me; it was needed." I smiled.

"Let's get you inside." Yena helps him inside the cabin to wrap his ankle.

"I'll carry that." Yeonjun takes the bag from me.

"Oh, thanks." I walked inside the cabin, and he closed the door behind him.

"Here, I'll get the first aid kit." Yena helps him sit down, and I sit my bag down on the wooden tiles.

"I'll go place my things in my room," Yeonjun says, walking off.

"I'll go too." I walked toward the bottom room; I opened the door to reveal the medium-sized bedroom.

It had a queen-sized bed with a big furry rug, and it looked soft to place your feet on.

I walked over toward the bathroom; inside was a huge tub. It could fit maybe even three people at a time.

I would be enjoying that tub tonight, this hectic day.

I wished they would have the same floor, but it's okay. I would deal with it for now.

"Yena, Can I talk to you?" A voice spoke in my doorway.

"Huh? what's up?" I turned to see Yeonjun.

"Beomgyu, He's a fragile person. I think we should keep an eye on him." He speaks. He was suddenly so caring toward him.

"Of course, I'll watch him."

"Good." He walks away.

That was sort of weird? But it seemed he was genuine in his words...

I focused my attention back on my bag; I removed the clothes and sorted them into the closet.

"Soona, let's go prepare lunch." Yena comes inside.

"Ah, let's go then." I walk outside with her to the kitchen.

"Where are the others?" I asked, looking around

"Beomgyu went to take a nap, and Yeonjun; he's unpacking." She speaks while setting the table.

"Should I get them?"

YN: "Sure."

I walked toward the upstairs first to get Yeonjun; I slowly walked to the door and knocked before gradually pushing the door.

Yeonjun, Lunch is ready." I say from the doorway.

"I'll be there in a minute." He speaks from another side of the room.

"Beomgyu?" I whispered, entering the room. He was lying under the covers, his eyes closed. It seemed he was in a deep sleep.

"It's time for lunch." I sang, standing above him next to the bed.

His eyes slowly opened, he sat up, squinting.

"It's lunch?" He asked, rubbing his eyes.

"Yes, Yena prepared it."

"I'll be out in a minute; let me refresh myself."

I walked back toward the table to see Yeonjun sitting there talking to Yena.

"I won earlier." Yena argues.

"No, I got headshots." He scoffs.

"You both obliterated each other, enough." I sat next to Yena.

"You're next," Yeonjun says.
