Ji Shiting returned to his room in the manor after talking to his grandpa.
Ye Shengge was reading his childhood notes.
He raised an eyebrow and grabbed the notebook from her. âWhatâs there to see?â he asked angrily.
Ye Shengge smiled and said, âI think itâs interesting, Shiting. You were so cute when you were young.â
Half of the manâs notebook was filled with notes, and the other half was his annotations on the notes. Ye Shengge was amused by how serious he sounded.
Ji Shiting snorted, put the book back, hugged her and put his hand on her belly.
He still couldnât believe that there were two babies in her womb.
âBy the way, thereâs something I havenât asked you yet,â Ye Shengge said. âDid you file for a divorce after I left?â
Ji Shiting smiled and said, âWhat do you think?â
âI checked later, and my marriage status showed divorce, so I always thought we were really divorced, butâ¦â Ye Shengge bit her lips.
However, the man had never mentioned remarrying each other, which wasnât his style.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Either he hadnât recalled it, or they hadnât gotten a divorce at all.
Ji Shiting chuckled and assented.
Ye Shengge was furious. What did that mean?
She was pregnant with two kids, so he had to give her an explanation.
Ji Shiting still didnât answer her question.
âWeâll have a wedding after the child is born.â The man stroked her hair and smiled. âWhat do you think?â
Wedding⦠So he was already thinking about the wedding.
Ye Shenggeâs eyelashes fluttered. She hesitated for a bit and said, âI heard your conversation with Grandpa.â
Ji Shiting paused and said, âYou were eavesdropping again.â
âIâm wondering if I can accept you marrying Jing Tong if weâre divorced.â She took a deep breath. âAfter all, marrying her can resolve your current predicament. It might be better for the company in the long term.â
Ji Shiting didnât say anything and stared at her.
âBut Iâve thought about it for a long time, and I donât think I can accept it. Even if itâs not for myself, I still have to think about our children,â she said. âSo I reckon that if we never divorced, you and Grandpa would have an excuse to reject them.â
She then bit her lips and said with a guilty expression, âIâve always been so selfish. Now that Iâm pregnant, Iâm even more selfish.â
Ji Shiting swallowed hard, and he smiled.
âItâs illegal to have more than one wife,â he said. âIâve always been a law-abiding citizen.â
Ye Shengge sniffed, wanting to cry and laugh. She hugged him tightly and said, âYes.â
She was right. Perhaps he had such thoughts when he was angry, but he wouldnât do it.
Thus, he was just saying it without having taken real action. He might have tampered with her file.
Ye Shengge couldnât help tearing up as she thought about it.
