Youâre My Woman Now
Ji Shiting frowned and picked her up.
Muted gasps sounded around the office. Ye Shengge couldnât help gasping in surprise either.
âI can walk...â She couldnât help feeling awkward under the burning gazes of so many other people. âPut me down.â
Ji Shiting shot her a glance, carried her to the office and put her on the sofa.
âHow did you get here?â he asked, squatting down and grabbing her ankle.
âUm... Taxi,â she explained. âDonât worry, I didnât walk much.â
Ji Shiting pinched the spot where she had been hurt, and after confirming that she was fine, he said, âIâll let you go this time.â
âMm,â Ye Shengge answered with a blushing face, casting awkward glances behind him from time to time.
Ji Shiting stood up then turned towards Yu Shuhang, âYou can leave now.â
âBut I have something to do...â Yu Shuhang was halfway through his sentence when he saw Ji Shitingâs warning look and thus changed his mind. âI have something to do, so Iâll leave first. Bye, sister-in-law.â
âGoodbye.â Ye Shengge greeted him.
After Yu Shuhang left, she asked, âDid I disturb you?â
âNo.â Ji Shiting sat down beside her, combed her hair and said coldly, âWhatâs wrong? You look like youâre being bullied.â
Ye Shengge almost teared up upon hearing that.
She didnât know why, but she suddenly wanted to see that man because he would always look her in the eyes no matter how he treated her.
Ye Shengge knew that he had never cared about the birthmark on her face, her upbringing or any other reasons. At least, she didnât need to feel uneasy about that annoying birthmark in front of him.
Mu Yanhuai swore that no man could stand her face, but Ye Shengge believed that Ji Shiting wouldnât mind even if her birthmark would never disappear.
She couldnât help throwing herself into his embrace and wrapping her arms around his waist, as if she was trying to draw some strength from him.
Ji Shiting was momentarily startled.
âLooks like you have really been bullied.â He put his hand into her hair and asked, âIs it Mu Yanhuai? Did you meet him?â
âHow did you know?â Ye Shengge looked up.
Ji Shiting sneered, âWho else can make you upset like this? Why did you see him?â
â...â Ye Shengge sighed. âI just suddenly realized that I trusted him because he was the first person who affirmed my talent and said he didnât mind having a birthmark on my face. However, heâs no different from anyone else. No, heâs worse and more cunning than anyone else.â
Ji Shiting could tell that she was being averse to herself. He just scoffed and said, âThat means youâve been living in a low-class society all these years.â
Ye Shengge was rendered speechless.
âYouâre my woman now. Me not minding should be more than enough.â Ji Shitingâs tone was cold.
However, Ye Shengge felt the warmth of tears in her eyes when she heard that.
âI know you donât mind, but itâs better if you can get rid of the birthmark now.â Ye Shengge couldnât stop herself from saying that. She looked towards him and said, âDonât you think so?â
