It's Saturday and the long waited quidditch match is today. Everyone is excited for the match.
I take a seat next to James in the Great Hall. On the other side sits Sirius, Remus and Peter.
"Nervous?" I ask James and Sirius as I place some eggs on my plate.
I hear Sirius scoff "As if. They got me and James on the team, we have nothing to worry about." He brags.
Remus rolls his eyes at Sirius's cockiness. "You said it last year before the match against Hufflepuff, but fell off of your broom just because of wind,"
"I did not fall because of wind! I was caught off guard when Hufflepuff's seeker flew past me when I didn't pay attention!" Sirius defends himself.
James coughs to hide his laugh.
"And what are you laughing at? You got hit by a bludger right in the chest last year." I remind him.
"Don't act like you weren't the first one off of the stands running towards me." James smirks.
"Of course I was! You got hit by a bludger, fell down, and hit the ground. You broke your ribs!" He fell off of his broom and broke his ribs and the only thing he thinks of if the fact that I was the first one to reach him, really?
"It was just a few broken ribs, not a big deal." He shrugs it off.
"It really wasn't 'not a big deal'," Peter does air quotes with his fingers "you were in so much pain that you practically didn't move." He finishes.
"That's true, everyone was worried." Sirius agrees. "Especially his fan club." Remus points out snickering.
I look at the group of girls not too far from us giggling and staring at both James and Sirius. James looks over at them which makes them giggle even more. I roll my eyes at them.
They were all so worried and didn't want to leave his bedside at the hospital wing. It was fairly annoying.
Sirius turns towards them and gives a wave with a smirk on his face.
Of course they enjoy the attention they're getting. They often flirt back with them.
"I honestly don't understand how you enjoy the attention from them." I grimace.
"Oh Y/N, if you're jealous you can always say it. I will make sure to talk and spend more time with you." Sirius reaches for my hand and squeezes it with a reassuring smile while trying not to laugh or smile.
I scoff and pull my hand away.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot that you prefer James over me, silly me." He waves his hand and turns to the group. "She wants to spend more quality time with James."
They all laugh as I groan. Funny, very funny.
"Is that so, love? We can definitely make it happen." James grins at me and grabs me from the waist and pulls me closer to himself.
"In your dreams Potter." I try to get out of his grip but his arm is strongly around me.
And just like that, I am trapped in his arms for the rest of the breakfast. Not complaining though. I lean the back of my head on top of his chest, to be more comfortable.
I see Sirius smirk but he hides it with raising his glass and taking a sip of his drink.

The weather is cloudy and windy, but thankfully no rain. Everyone is intensely following the game from the stands. The players are soaring through the air.
Right now, Gryffindor is in the lead with having sixty points while Ravenclaw has fifty.
I was between Remus and Lily on the stands keeping an eye on both James and Sirius. Everyone was cheering and shouting.
The quaffle flies through one of the goalposts and earns Ravenclaw ten points. There is groaning on the Gryffindor side and cheering on the Ravenclaw side.
"Richard Matthew scores ten points for Ravenclaw!" I hear the commentary over the crowd.
"James better catch the snitch." Marlene comments. "I hope he does because he is definitely not entirely focusing on the game." Lily complains.
Well that is true. James is either showing off or finding a way to have a quick word with Sirius. Right now, he seems to be in his own thoughts rather than focusing on the game.
In the corner of my eye I see something heading towards him. A bludger.
Worry strikes me when he doesn't notice the ball coming right at him.
"What is this idiot doing?" Remus asks panic lacing his voice.
"I swear to Godric if he ends up in the hospital again." I mumble as I stare at James who still has no idea of what's going on.
His eyes meet mine just as Sirius flies in front of him and swings his bat so the bludger flies towards another player.
I let out sigh in relief.
"Can he keep his eyes on the game now, for Merlin's sake!" Remus comments.
Seemingly he can. James is chasing the golden snitch that he had spotted. Soon the Ravenclaw seeker spots James chasing the snitch and races after him.
They follow the snitch doing all sorts of ups and downs. Finally, they are shoulder to shoulder next to each other trying to reach out for the snitch, that is not far from their reach. Everyone has their attention on the two seekers.
The snitch flies in a straight line towards the other side of the field and makes a sudden up turn. The Ravenclaw seeker wasn't ready for the sudden turn and didn't turn up at the right time.
James however turns his broom upwards and continues following the snitch. He reaches his hand out trying to get the golden ball.
It takes a moment but suddenly people start cheering. He had caught the golden snitch!
"James Potter catches the golden snitch and earns one hundred fifty points, Gryffindor wins!" I hear the commentary.
I hug Lily and hurry down with Remus and Peter. We reach the ground right as the Gryffindor team lands. I quickly run towards them and spot James.
He turns to me and I jump into his arms giving him quick kiss on the cheek and then hugging him tightly. "You idiot!" I scold.
He stands there for a second stunned but recovers quickly. "Not even a 'good job!' or 'well done!'?" He laughs while hugging me back.
"Good job, but keep your mind on the game! You almost got hit again, but thanks to Sirius, the ball didn't hit you." I break the hug and look him in the eyes.
"You worry too much." He grins while messing up his hair.
"And you don't worry enough." I point out.
"Enough of this fighting, where is my hug at? I think I did a pretty good job." I hear Sirius say behind me.
I turn around and hug him "Yes, you did do good Sirius." I laugh.
"So, do I get a kiss also for saving your boyfriend?" He asks as we pull apart.
I hit his shoulder "First, he is not my boyfriend and second-" I began
"And second, no you don't. You didn't catch the snitch." James cuts me off and sticks his tongue out at Sirius.
"Remus and Peter we got a jealous James who doesn't want to share our dear friend over here!" Sirius called out.
I laugh and look at James who is already staring at me with a smile.
"To be fair, you only got a kiss because I was there to save your ass," Sirius points his finger at James "and I think it's only fair if you return the favor so Jamie, you can return the favor with a kiss to me yourself."
James starts backing away slowly "I think I'm good, Sirius."
