Chapter 15: Chapter Fifteen

(Joseph's POV)

I felt like one of the most deplorable human in the whole galaxy. I felt like complete and utter scum as I sat next to Asurah's unconscious form, his head in my lap as I gently stroked his hair. He looked so peaceful, his eyes closed and those perfect lips slightly open. Lips that I had kissed in a moment of desperation. When I heard that my ship had been fixed, I knew that this was it. This was the only chance I had to completely my mission, even though I now felt like crap, my eyes bloodshot from crying. I had the syringe in my pocket, bought at the very mall Asurah took me to. While he had been lollying about, I had passed a medicinal store that, weirdly enough, sold tranquilizers. I bought it, knowing I was going to use it eventually, although I had no idea it would be the same day. And since I knew I would betray him, I kissed him, mostly for myself, not for the mission. I wanted to see what his lips felt like against mine, before he was completely taken from me.

And god his lips were so soft. They felt like heaven against my own, his skin warm as I grasped his waist. Everything about the experience was perfect, something out of a fantasy. It was everything I had thought it would be, not that I would have told anyone.

The fantasy was ripped away once I stuck the syringe in his neck. He had pushed me, and the horror on his face had me feeling like my heart had been ripped out of my chest. He had crashed into his nightstand, shattering it completely. And when he saw the syringe that had been in his neck, he had looked so...defeated. Like someone had ripped his heart out of his chest and stomped on it. It made me feel like the worst kind of skum to make him feel that way.

I couldn't deny it. I had began falling for him, despite trying not to. He was addicting in every way possible, from the way he talked, to the way he strut around like a seductor. His carefree personality was only a bonus.

I sighed, glancing down at Asurah before I stood up and picked him up with me, placing him down on his bed before I grabbed some gauze to wrap his wounds from his fall into his glass nightstand. I plucked the small shards of glass from his arms, gently wrapping him up, the Glacic not even twitching. Once I was done with his arms, I gently turned him on his side, plucking more out of his back so I could properly dress the wounds. When I was completely finished, I sat down next to him, unable so sleep as I stared off into space, deep within my thoughts until the suns rose over the horizon.

I injected Asurah with more of the tranquiliser so he wouldn't wake up. I made sure the coast was clear before I picked him up, making my way to my ship. Olivia and Jack were standing off to the side, talking casually before they saw Asurah and me, their eyes widening as they rushed over to us.

"Oh my god, is he ok?"

"What happened to him?"

I shook my head, causing them to look at me curiously, worry in their eyes. "I drugged him." I admitted quietly.

They both immediately exploded, anger in their eyes. "You did what? Why the hell would you do that to him!" Jack was saying as Olivia nodded, a glare on her face.

"I agree! He was so nice to us and helped us fix our ship!"

"General Issak personally requested me to capture and deliver Asurah as a specimen." I said, Asurah's body warm against my own.

"That doesn't excuse what you're doing," Jack sneered, reaching to grab Asurah from me.

I took a step back, glaring at the other man. "The bastard threatened my mother. Of course I have to do this. We all do. Or else Issak is going to dispose of our families."

Olivia and Jack frowned, looking dejected as they realised the severity of the situation. They knew how cruel Issak was, knew how heartless the man could be. He was known for his bloodlust and his ability to get what he wanted by threatening people. It was why he was still the General of the Intelligence Fleet. No one wanted to anger the psychotic man, so they just let him keep his job. It was stupid, but it was just how it was. I had no say in anything, and neither did Olivia and Jack.

So they grudgingly stood aside, allowing me to board my ship. I gently sat Asurah down on one of the passenger seats, buckling him in and giving him one last longing look before I tore my eyes from his form and sat down. Jack and Olivia were silent as they sat down, waiting as I powered my ship up. Once the dashboard was lit up, I typed in Earth's coordinates and waited for it to process, the lights turning green when it was set.

I flew out of the hanger, barely sparing the ice planet a glance as I began flying home, my heart being left behind as a void filled my chest. The further we flew from the planet of ice, the more I became antsy, my fingers twitching and brows furrowing the closer we got to the Milkyway. Once we reached our galaxy, the flight to Earth was short. We landed at our base and I let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding, turning off my ship before I glanced at Asurah, who was still out cold. I gulped down my guilt and carefully pulled him out of the seat, staring at his features before I gently kissed those soft lips of his, resting my forehead against his.

"I hope that I can see you again, Asurah," I whispered, already feeling the tears forming in my eyes." I kissed his forehead and walked out of my ship, being greeted by the psycho himself.

Issak was in his late fifties, his face filled with wrinkles and his white hair slicked back as those dark eyes shifted to Asurah. A sick smile formed on his face as he walked up to me, Olivia and Jack saluting behind me, as was protocol.

"Well, well, well. You're a little earlier than I expected, but I can deal with that." He looked at Asurah with a sick glint in his eyes, making me tense up as he placed a giant hand onto Asurah's cheek. "It's beautiful. Definitely the finest specimen we have ever had."

"What are you going to do with him?" I asked curtly, watching Issak's brow twitch as he glared up at me.

"The only thing you need to concern yourself with, is your payment."

"I just want to know if he's going to be alright. He's my friend."

Issak laughed. "Friend? Friendship is a lie. It is nothing more than an alien that is going to give us information we only dreamed about obtaining. This is going to revolutionize the known world as we know it."

I glared, biting my bottom lip in irritation. "Asurah is a male, and a person. He's not some alien you can call an object."

Issak waved me off, gesturing towards one of his men as they walked up and took Asurah from my grasp, having to yank him from me since I didn't want to let him go. "Him. It. Same thing. And it's not of this world, therefore, it is an alien. You have done your job well, Captain. I'm quite surprised, actually. I had a feeling you would back out like the coward you are. It as they say, like father like son."

"You bastard," I seethed, muscles tensing as I wished I could hit him. "I am nothing like my father."

Issak smirked, folding his arms across his chest, as Asurah was taken inside. An ache formed in my chest as his form disappeared, and I knew this was the last time I was going to see him. I tore my eyes away from the building and looked back at Issak, who was gesturing for me to follow him.

"Let me finish my end of the bargain. Your payment is this way."

I stared at the building Asurah had been taken into, my heart aching as I walked further from his presence. I sighed and nodded, letting Issak lead me into the other building. And as we walked, I could only worry about what was going to be done to Asurah.

A/N: Pic above is my horrible depiction of Joseph lol
