Three years later...
Rose's POV:
Standing on a sidewalk with Giovanni's arm wrapped around me, I stare in awe at the house that is officially ours. I'm giddy thinking about it.
Gazing up at Gio, a huge grin finds its way onto my face. He looks at me lovingly with a smile as well and leans down to kiss me.
"I love you Rosary," Gio says.
"I love you Giovanni," I breathe out in response.
Together, we walk hand in hand into our brand new house. We already moved all of our stuff in so we don't have to worry about unpacking right now.
Our wedding photo sits proudly on top of the mantle above the grand fireplace. I'm instantly taken back to that wonderful day. So much joy had filled the air as it still does.
So much has happened in the past three years. A few months into my recovery, Giovanni proposed to meâhe had planned a date night for us to celebrate my release from the hospital and proposed once we were done eatingâsomething I totally didn't expect to happen. While we had only known each other for about a year, everything just felt (and still feels) so right. With tears of joy in my eyes I had said yes and hugged Gio.
We waited to have the wedding until I could walk and at the ceremony, I met Giovanni's lovely grandmother, or as I now know her, Nonna. Through talking with Nonna, I learned that Giovanni was only originally in the United Sates for a two-month long business trip when he saved me and that his home is in Italy (I probably should've picked up on the last part after he told me he was an Italian mafia boss ð¤¦ââï¸). So, after we got married, I insisted we move to Italy and buy a house there.
Within the last month or so, I've began taking some college courses online too! I've decided to major in elementary education. My hope is that next year I'll be ready to attend university in person.
Throughout all of this change, Gio has been my rock, always there for me with unwavering support. I don't think he'll ever understand how grateful I am for him.
And as for my story?
I don't think I could've asked for a better ending.

Thank you all so much for taking time out of your day to read this! I plan on hopefully editing this story soon(ish) with some friends to make it even better (the plot won't change though). I really appreciate all of your support and love! You've made my writing dreams come true! ð©·
