Chapter Forty-Five: "We Need To Talk."
HE FEELS the same? As in, he likes me too?
"You. . . do? You do?" I ask, breathless.
"I do." He smiles, then laughs. "I like you, Blue. I like you a lot."
He doesn't hesitate in connecting our lips once again before wrapping his arms around me and lifting me up, placing me on my countertop and situating himself in between my legs. His hands rest lowly on the small of my back while my hands entangle in his hair, pulling at it.
He puts everything he has into this kiss, everything that's been bottled up, everything I don't know, everything he wants me to know; I feel it. Right through his lips. It sends tingles down my skin wherever he touches and makes my belly go nuts in butterflies. My whole body is focused on him, like he's the only thing that matters, like we're the only ones here.
I let out a soft moan when he bites my lip before opening my mouth to him to allow him to deepen the kiss. Landon's hands start roaming, trailing up and down my spine before hoisting me up by my bum and wrapping my legs around his stiff frame. My arms squeeze around his neck at the sudden move, pulling us closer together where our bodies are pressed up fully against the others.
I'm dropped onto a hard surface, and it takes me a few moments to realize he walked to the bed. The sudden disconnection has my body go cold, missing his, but I don't even have time to miss it too much before his lips are back on mine again.
Landon begins peppering kisses from my mouth all the way down to my collarbone, kissing it before making his way back up again. He teases up under my jaw, where he starts nibbling and licking, and I close my eyes, biting my lip hard to prevent any sounds from escaping. I gasp when he finds my sweet spot and latches onto it, and I can't help myself when a breathy moan escapes my throat.
"Landon. . ." I groan out as he continues playing with my neck and throat with his tongue. He grunts in response, moving his way to my front. "We should stop. . . before they suspect anything."
"They won't." He says huskily.
"But the par. . . party. They need our help." I protest, running my fingers over his face to stop him. As much as I'd love to continue, we should probably wait until the party's in full swing to do this again without being looked for. "We've been gone awhile." I say softly. "We can continue later."
His eyes are clouded with lust and desire and I can't help but feel slightly bad for ruining the fun. "You're right." He whispers, rolling off of me and sighing. "I hate this party already."
"You'll be fine." I say, rolling my eyes.
I chuckle when he buries his face in my neck and groans. "No, I won't! I was having fun."
"Me too." I giggle. "Now, you should go get ready and I'll meet you downstairs."
He pulls back, puts a hard, deep kiss on my mouth, and very reluctantly pulls away completely before winking at me and heading downstairs.
I'm left breathless as I still lay in bed. My lips are swollen and tingly, and I can't help but smile because that kiss. . . was a pretty damn good kiss and is most definitely the best kiss I've ever had.
And I can't help but smile even wider because he's mine. Landon McGibbon is mine.
After I fix my makeup once again to hide the smudged lipstick, I make my way back downstairs to where the seven of them have already placed up a vast majority of the party stuff.
"There you are!" Maya exclaims, a smirk in her voice. "God, you were up there forever! What took you so long?"
I glance over at the boys, one in specific who eyes me up and winks flirtatiously at me. I direct my gaze back to the girl who's looking at me expectantly. "I uh, had to fix my make outâI-I mean, makeup!"
Maya eyes me carefully while Landon starts laughing his ass off in the corner of the room as he places a stack of red solo cups on the counter, but knocks them over by laughing. "Oh shit." He curses through laughs, bending down to grab them.
The boys chuckle at him as they focus on cutting some food up.
"Hey Cupcake, can you go out in the wine cellar and grab some bottles? There's also a booze section hidden off it, so if you could grab a few bottles of each brand. That'd be cool." Liam requests, and I nod, still cursing myself for slipping up. At least only a couple people in this room heard me, but I still don't know who's the one who speaks Spanish out of the three others.
"I'll help!" Maya chirps, and drags me towards the basement. When we get down there, she punches my arm. Hard. "Why didn't you tell me you made out with Landon?!"
I rub my arm and glare at her. "I never said that, and I never knew I was supposed to!"
"Dude! As your new best friend, you're supposed to tell me this!" She says matter-of-factly.
"We're best friends?" I question in confusion. When did this happen?
"We are now." She says, and grabs a cart beside the wine cellar. There's a huge cart used specifically to transport alcoholic bottles from down here to upstairs for parties. There's a ramp that leads upstairs, but it takes two people to move it because the ramp can get steep and hard to move when your doing it solo.
"Oh. Okay." I say slowly. But then a thought occurs to me.
How did Maya know what I said?
"You speak Spanish?" I ask in bewilderment.
"Yeah," she laughs, "I'm like, fascinated with Spanish origins and so was Landon, so we take a class together."
"Really?" I say rhetorically with raised eyebrows.
"Mhm!" She hums, and I look at her oddly as we start parking the cart.
About ten minutes later and we have enough alcohol to get a small school drunk. We lug them up the ramp to the main floor, and the boys surround us as they start unpacking the load. When we're done, Maya drags me back downstairs again to return the cart.
"Spill." She says, grabbing my arm to stop me from going upstairs. Damn it! I never talked to Landon about this! What if he didn't want anyone to know? What if he wanted it kept a secret for a while? What if he wanted us to do it together?
"Spill what?" I ask, dumbfounded. Maybe if I act like nothing happen, she'll drop the conversation.
"Don't act stupid, Brook. Your lips are swollen." She says matter-of-factly, rolling her eyes.
Shit. Busted. "Ugh. . ." I stutter, a huge lump forming in my throat. "Weâum, we just kissed, that's all."
"You just kissed?" She says in monotone, giving me a really? That's all you're going to tell me? look, and I shrug. "That was more than a kiss."
"Um, yes." I say uneasily. I really hope I don't regret this. "It was just in the moment. . ."
"And how did he end up in your room?" She presses, and I sigh.
"He was checking up on me. I was nervous about tonight and he wanted to make sure I was okay."
"You're hiding something." She says, pointing to my cheeks. "One kiss shouldn't make you blush that much or be so giddy and nervous. Or result in hickeys on your neck."
My eyes widen in shock. "Thereâthere's hickeys?!"
She giggles and walks up to me, dragging her finger along my neck and poking at places right under my jugular, and the crevice in between my neck and collarbone.
"That little bastard! Eugh, I didn't know if he wanted people know, yet here is he making clear marks that something is going on! This is so confusing!"
"Relax, it's not a big deal." She smiles. "Besides, that's easily coverable. I'll do it."
"Okay."
"So, are you two together?" She presses
I shrug, trying to brush it off. Is this girl planning on becoming a cop when she's older? Because she's a great interrogator and she isn't giving up! "I'm asking myself the same thing."
"Okay, fine, fine," she says, her voice going a pitch higher, "I'll just ask Landon. Since, you know, he's one of my best friends."
"Go ahead." I shrug. At least I'll know how he wants this to stand if you do, I add in my head.
She looks at me warily before shrugging, grabbing my hand. and prancing off to go 'freshen up' once we get back upstairs.
After a couple hours to renovating the main floor to make it party appropriate, we all settle down in the living room and watch some hockey before everyone arrives.
Toronto is playing Pittsburgh, and they're getting their asses kicked. I was told by Liam, the hockey nerd, that Toronto sucks in most sports except for soccer. Their FC team actually wins games, and the Blue Jays apparently have their good games and their bad games; they win some they lose some. And the Maple Leafs? Yeah, I was told they haven't won a Stanley Cup since back in the mid-1900s.
Throughout all the ruckus of the boys screaming at the TV, I try my hardest not to close my eyes. I had a busy day today and haven't had a chance to sit down and relax. I had two tests for my morning periods, and right after school, Maya dragged me back to her house to get ready, then set up, and now I'm drained.
I stand up and rush to the kitchen, grabbing a red cup and pouring some alcohol in it. I didn't want to drink tonight, I don't want to, but I need energyâeven if it's brief. I'll stay awake a minimum an hour before calling it quits. I'm sleeping here tonight anyway, so curfew is nonexistent and frankly, I can go to bed whenever the fuck I please because I live here.
I chug down two full cups before smashing the cup against the island, flattening it, and lugging back to the couch.
"Thought you weren't drinking?" Louis teases once I sit down.
"I need the energy." I reply. It's only eight thirty, and it feels like it's one in the morning. I need this.
He shrugs before turning his full attention back to the TV.
Not too long after that, people started arriving. It's now ten thirty and the party is in full swing. I don't know how I ended up where I am, but somehow I ended up drinking more and now I'm drunk and swaying to the music with some girl rubbing against me oddly.
"You do realize I'm not a guy, right?" I slur.
"You do realize I'm into girls, right?" She says back and my eyes widen, my hands grabbing hers and peeling them off me.
"Yeah, good for you! I'm just going to. . ." I trail, rushing off away from her. I run straight into a wall, stumbling backwards but strong arms catch me.
I glance up at the man who caught me, and my eyes widen. "What are youâ"
"We need to talk."

Short chapter but I'm fucking exhausted and it's only 11:00 p.m. where I am and I figured this would be a good place to let off, because a lot of drama will arise soon and will be happening in the next couple chapters.ððð
Hope you enjoyed the chapter!
