“Get lost.” Gu Shaoting shot back a single word.

After He Ming left, Gu Shaoting immediately took out his mobile phone and called Shu Pan.

But Shu Pan did not answer, not willing to give up, he called again, and finally, she answered.

“Dear, are you busy?” Gu Shaoting’s voice, deep as a cello, came through the phone.

“No, I just finished up and was about to go for lunch,” Shu Pan replied.

“I just got back from a business trip; don’t you miss me? I miss you a lot. Let’s have lunch together,” Gu Shaoting’s sweet words made Shu Pan blush, even though she was only hearing them on the phone.

“Alright, you pick the place, I’ll come straight there. Don’t come pick me up,” Shu Pan responded.

They hadn’t had a proper conversation in over half a month, as he had left on short notice last time.

“Okay,” Gu Shaoting hung up and sent Shu Pan the address.

Then he picked up his jacket from the office chair and headed out.

“Mr. Gu, are you going out for lunch?” Xia Xiaoqiao happened to come in on business.

“Yes, anything the matter?” Gu Shaoting asked.

“There’s an urgent document that the business department needs, and it requires your approval and signature,” Xia Xiaoqiao handed over the document.

“Alright, I’ll approve it first.” Gu Shaoting thought it was just a signature, which wouldn’t take long, so he started reviewing the document and as he read through the data, his brow furrowed more and more.

“Secretary Xia, call the business department manager to see me immediately,” Gu Shaoting called the internal line, his tone hinting at a rising anger.

“Okay,” Xia Xiaoqiao’s sweet voice came through.
