Chapter 346:
Patrick felt uneasy.
He quickly responded, âNo, thanks, Iâd rather stand.â After a brief silence, his face took on a serious look.
âWhat do you want to know?â
âDo you understand women?â
âHuh?â Patrick looked puzzled.
He gave a slow nod.
Considering his experience with four relationships, he thought he had some understanding of them.
âWhatâs your take on Miss Sandersonâs feelings toward me?â
Miss Sanderson? Harleeâs image with her commanding presence instantly popped up in Patrickâs mind.
He answered confidently, âI believe Miss Sanderson perceives you differently.â
Rhys raised an eyebrow, urging Patrick to go on.
Patrick continued, âMiss Sanderson carries a presence of being aloof, yet she allows you close. This suggests you hold a special place for her.
Howeverâ¦â
âIt seems she hasnât fully opened her heart to you yet.â

Patrick watched Rhysâ expression carefully, only continuing when he was sure Rhys wasnât angry.
âSheâs likely aware of your feelings but hasnât reciprocated. She may have her doubts, or she might be holding herself back, or maybe sheâs simply not ready for a relationship⦠Itâs clear to everyone that Miss Sanderson interacts with you differently than with others.â
Rhys took a moment to carefully consider Patrickâs words.
He then understood the main point.
Fiancée! It seemed he hadnât yet told her his previous engagement was off. Rhys suddenly came up with a plan.
He decided to wait for her at the Tartarus Club and personally convey his feelings for her, along with the news that he was now single.
Whenever Harlee visited the Tartarus Club, the staff would promptly report her presence to Rhys. Yet, Rhys didnât want her to feel monitored, so he had never appeared there before.
On the second-floor balcony of the Sanderson familyâs home, Harlee sat with a cup of coffee, quietly savoring the soothing sound of the rain.
From Tonya, Harlee had heard about the substantial losses Rhys faced under the Sanderson familyâs pressure.
For some reason, this made her heart heavy with concern. She felt quite uneasy, especially when she learned that Rhys had been consistently yielding, seemingly shouldering all the blame for the broken engagement in this way.
Today, when Harlee got back home, only Skyla and the servants were present. The Sanderson men were all staying late at the Sanderson Group.
