Chapter 224:
Right after Freyja spoke, there was a tapping on the window.
Barbara turned to see Collin smirking and touching his cheek. When given permission, the driver opened the door.
As soon as Collin got in the car, he ordered Barbara, âFind a way to reinstate my engagement with Harlee. Iâm going to marry her.â
Freyja hesitated.
âThat might be tough.â
âThatâs right. She has become the Sanderson familyâs prized member, no longer the Gill familyâs overlooked daughter.
Besides, Adelina seems like a suitable match for you,â Barbara suggested with feigned kindness.
Barbara was secretly hoping Collin would shamelessly pursue Harlee, and the bigger the scene he made, the better.
His foolishness would only ease her path to take over the George Group effortlessly.
âOh, come on! The Gill family is nothing compared to the Sanderson family! Plus, Adelina is too plain and foolish, proving no help to my career at all.
But Harlee is different. Sheâs the Sanderson familyâs heiress and also manages Janessa Studio. Marrying her would secure the George familyâs future!â Collin argued.
Seizing the moment, Barbara nodded.
âYou have a point.â

âButâ¦
Fine. Iâll discuss it with your father to see if thereâs a way.â Collin was pleased with Barbaraâs answer, sitting back in his seat with confidence, as though Harlee was already his.
Barbara turned away in disgust, while Freyja completely disregarded Collin. The three sat in silence, each absorbed in their own thoughts.
Meanwhile, Harlee had just finished breakfast at the Grand Oak Restaurant. She was now briefing Ritchie.
âIâll be in the military for a few days.
During this period, cut off all communications for me. Make sure no one knows my whereabouts.â
âUnderstood.â
A faint smile crossed Harleeâs face as she added, âTonya is back.â
Ritchie nodded blankly, not catching Harleeâs undertone.
Harlee chuckled and shook her head. Truly, Ritchie was clueless about love. Since that was the case, sheâd let them sort it out on their own.
Harlee checked the time.
âI expect to join the military in three or four days. Use this time to get ready, and once Iâm in, take a good vacation yourself.â With that, she grabbed her bag and left.
In the bustling heart of Baythorn Airport, Harlee found a spot on a bench, casually crossing her legs while occasionally glancing at the overhead display.
