Chapter 225:
Clad in a plain T-shirt and jeans, with her hair neatly pinned up, she could easily have been mistaken for just another college student.
However, her distinct elegance and striking appearance inevitably captured the interest of nearby travelers.
âHarlee?â Adelina froze, blinking as if she couldnât believe her eyes. Why had Harlee come to the airport? Earlier, Harlee had decisively turned Collin away at the door of the Grand Oak Restaurant. What could have prompted her to appear at the airport without warning? Could she have gotten wind of Collinâs upcoming trip to Sacia? Perhaps she was orchestrating a supposed accidental meeting by catching an earlier flight? It seemed the only plausible explanation.
With this thought, Adelina felt a surge of anger, assuming Harlee was using all her tactics to charm Collin.
Her face contorted with scorn as she marched over to Harlee, visibly irate.
âChasing Collin to another city? How desperate can you get?â she spat, her voice dripping with contempt.
âYou should know, Iâm the one Collinâs engaged to, not youâ¦â
âShut up!â Harlee interjected sharply, her eyes flashing with coldness as she halted Adelinaâs tirade.
âDonât kid yourself, and certainly donât think Collin is some prize worth winning.
Frankly, heâs not even worth a second glance from me.â
âYouâ¦â Adelinaâs glare burned with intensity as she confronted Harlee.

âHow dare you speak ill of Collin? I see through your facade! Just because you hail from the Sandersons doesnât mean youâll win his favor. Itâs time you accepted that.â
Harlee raised an eyebrow, her expression a mix of poise and disdain. Why did Adelina make it sound like Collin was the only man in the world when, in reality, he was just a pathetic loser?
âA good-for-nothing like him is actually a perfect match for a moron like you,â Harlee retorted.
The thought of being pursued by someone like Collin repulsed her to her core.
The thick cosmetics on Adelinaâs face did little to mask her rage. She dug her nails into her purse strap, convinced that Harlee was playing a game, pretending to be disinterested in Collinâan act she wouldnât fall for.
With a scornful snort, Adelina sneered, âOh, playing the bitter reject now, are you? So, where might you be off to?â Her voice dripped with sarcasm, clearly doubting that Harleeâs presence at the airport was a mere coincidence.
Harleeâs response was a cold, dismissive curl of her lip.
âThatâs none of your concern.â Why should she inform Adelina of her plans? Since when did Adelina have the right to pry into her life?
Adelinaâs words dripped with scorn as she confronted Harlee.
âDrop the charade! Itâs clear youâre only here for Collin. Just how desperate can you get?â
Harlee rose to her full height, her gaze piercing.
