{picture ^ is who I imagine Max Carrington as:)}
Things had been strange around here. Elaine was quiet and Thomas was hardly around. Alex knew something was up too, I could feel it .
I felt it when I walked in the room and he plastered a smirk on his face, but before he sees me, his face was set in a stone cold frown.
I understood more now; I understood that there was more to Alex Parker than meets the eye, however, he would always be the obnoxious jerk I'd come to know so well.
For instance, currently I was taking a shower. Why? Because when I woke up this morning I went downstairs for breakfast and was attacked with a whole bottle of ketchup...Darn you Alex Parker!
I sighed and wrapped the towel around me after hopping out of the shower. I hurried to my room, threw on some black skinny jeans along with a flannel and brushed through my hair, leaving it to dry itself.
After I had finished, I returned downstairs, giving Alex the deadliest evil eyes I could and earning a hushed snigger.
It had been three days since I'd last seen the boys and believe it or not, I missed them.
I missed West Vales bad boys?
What had gotten into me?
I was rather excited too see them again tonight at Jace's place. I learnt that they hang out their regularly, mostly because he had the biggest garden and his parents weren't home a lot I think; that and by the sounds of it, they didn't care much about what he got up to.
~~~
"Do you mind? You're taking up all the space!" I complained, shoving Alex further into the side door as he took up as much room as possible.
"No cupcake, I don't mind." He smirked confidently, shoving me back and I scoffed in return.
Whenever I was in the back with any of the other boys, they never shoved into me. No. Only Alex because he was an obnoxious jerk.
"You're so full of yourself." Rolling my eyes and folding my arms, I tried once more to shove him away.
"And you love it, princess." He scrunched his nose and talked as though he was talking to a child. He grabbed my cheeks pulling on them lightly until I swatted his hand away.
"Asswipe." I muttered.
"You my love, need to get better insults." He wasn't totally wrong, I was terrible at arguments, I could never think of what to say, so I wound up repeating an old insult.
I rolled my eyes , refusing to argue with him any longer . That was until I heard his next comment...
"You're flat chested." He glanced up at me from my chest smirking. He knew it annoyed me when he made rude comments like that. This one, he'd been teasing me about for years.
"And you have a small wiener!" I snapped at him. I earned a chuckle from Kyle, who stopped instantly when I snapped my head in his direction, giving a death glare.
"Wiener?!" Alex mimicked my choice of words and burst out into a fit laughter.
This pushed me too my limit, I'd had it with him. I raised my hand in a balled up fist and slammed it with force into his crotch. He immediately groaned , doubling over and I heard Kyle groan too just from the sight of my actions. I smirked to myself, That should shut him up.
"You're such a little b-" Alex yelled, his face pink and pain contorted into his facial features. His sentence was cut short.
"ENOUGH!" Grayson screamed from the stirring wheel, I noticed his eyes flicker from the road to the mirror.
"You guys have got to stop!" I tried to hold in my laughter; the sight of Alex in pain that I caused really was the highlight of my day.
"I personally find it amusing...how frustrated little Maxy gets. She's like a....furious chipmunk" Kyle grinned at us all and I raised my hand, balled into a fist, in the air.
"Don't make me do it..." I glared . He gave me an uneasy look, his hands moving to cover his crotch and I quickly changed to the most innocent smile I could conjure up.
~~~
"We'll be there soon!" Alex called out. I watched Grayson and Kyle jump over Jace's fence and then turned, running to catch up with Alex's quick pace.
"Where are we going exactly?..." I asked.
When we had gotten out of the car, Alex insisted I went with him instead of Grayson, which I really didn't get why. I felt like Alex and I were constantly back and forth. At each other's throats one minute then being friends the next. It was exhausting if you asked me.
"Alcohol." He kept walking quick, looking up at the stars as though he was intrigued by the shapes they made.
"You're sixteen, you can't by alcohol pee brain." He didn't even really look eighteen. Well at least I didn't think so, but I'd known this kid my whole life.
"That's what you think love." he chuckled.
"No...I'm pretty sure you ARE sixteen years old." He groaned and pulled out his wallet, flicking it open and pulling out a card.
Alex flashed his famous smirk and dangled it in front of my face. "I'm twenty one years old actually."
"YOU GOT A FAKE ID?! THATS ILLEGAL!" I tugged the piece of card from his grasp and scolded him . He snatched it out of my hands , shaking his head and rolling his eyes.
"Your point cupcake?" Was I the only one who understands that Alex could get in serious trouble here?!
"If you get caught with that you could end up arrested!"
"And why do you care Max?" Now he was just trying to get a rise out of me. He thought I cared? Ha, maybe next time.
"I- oh trust me Alex Parker, I don't care. I know how much you already stress your mum out. Imagine getting arrested. She'd kill you." I explained. He walked into the shop and down the first isle, his hands in his pockets and me trailing behind him.
"You worry too much." He dismissed me. I chose to say no more, their was no way I was winning this, Alex wanted alcohol so he would get it. Simple. "Besides, not like I haven't been in the cells before."
He stood and I watched as his eyes trailed over the endless amount of alcoholic beverages in the fridge. He picked up a crate of beers and two bottles of vodka before joining the queue to pay.
"I'm waiting outside." I told him and headed for the exit.
If Alex got in trouble I didn't want to be standing beside him. There was no need for the both of us to get into trouble. I had a good reputation; no detentions , no trouble with the law - nothing - and Alex sure as hell was not going to ruin that.
"Piece of cake. " Alex joined me outside and handed me the least heaviest bag to carry as we walked back quicker than we did to get there.
It was only ten minutes later that we were passing the bags over the gate to Kyle, Alex was boosting me over the gate and Kyle was catching me on the other side. Jace really needed smaller gates. This was not fun for a girl as short as me, being thrown over the damn fence every other night.
Alex and I joined the others around the fire that the boys were sat around. I took a seat between Alex and Jace and gratefully took a beer Grayson handed me.
"Jace! I can't reach the Coke!" A girls voice came from inside his house. Confusion automatically took over when I heard the girls voice - I liked being the only girl...
Jace groaned , got up and disappeared into the kitchen. Returning a few moments later, a girl with fiery red shoulder length wavy hair and bright eyes dressed in black skinny jeans with a rather nice leather jacket, following behind him. She sat beside him, a bottle of Coke in her hands. I kept my eyes on her, confused that nobody yet had thought of telling me who exactly she was.
"Oh- This is my girlfriend Tara, Babe this is Max - she's Alex's friend." I heard Alex scoff which I politely chose to ignore. I offered Tara a smile which she eagerly returned.
Looking at them, I could tell they were a perfect match, she looked the part of a classic bad girl. Sharp eyeliner, plump red stained lips, fire like curls whipping around her face. That, and the leather jacket. She was quite literally had the same aura as Jace.
"It's nice to meet you." we said in sync and laughed awkwardly together. She didn't seem that bad, maybe it would be nice to know Tara. I distinctly remembered Jace saying she drives him crazy , I liked crazy.
~~~
"No no no . I can do the most cartwheels!" I slurred my words, I was aware I'd had around five beers and at least half a bottle of straight vodka.
"No, I think I can." Tara giggled, just as hammered as I was. The more drunk we had gotten, the better friends we became. Typical huh?
"Bring it on." I giggled along with her and stood up , taking a rather wobbly, terrible cartwheel stance, the boys were watching us and shaking their heads.
I did a terrible cartwheel, landing on my feet, but barely. I pushed myself into the second cartwheel, but my arms gave way and I flipped onto my back.
"Ouch!" I giggled and soon I saw Alex's face peering over. He helped me up, chuckling. My stomach felt like it was suddenly doing somersaults.
"Alex...I don't feel so G-" that was as much as I got out.
Then, I made the terrible decision to puke all over Alex's shoes. He quickly moved, though he didn't escape being covered in my sick. I was surprised when he didn't seem to care about his shoes and patted my back soothingly as the second gag came.
I could hear Jace vaguely , trying to talk Tara out of making the same mistake I did and getting her to sit back down.
I finished being sick and stumbled back over to the others , picking up the bottle of vodka and attempting to down it whole. As soon as the ice cold liquor touched my lips it was yanked away. I pouted as Grayson held the bottle out of my grasp and I tried to reach for it.
"I think you've had enough Maxy."
"I haven't!" I pouted, tripping over my own feet and trying to grab the bottle. When he gave me a look that told me he most definitely wasn't going to give me the bottle, I sighed and shoved myself into the seat beside Tara.
" I win." I whispered to her, giggling and moving hair from my face. She crossed her arms and stuck out her lower lip - like a child would when told it's time for bed.
"Okay Max, I think it's time we get going." Alex told me, he being drunk himself yet no where near as bad as I was.
I pulled Tara's head into a hug. "You." I let go and pointed at her, yet another giggle escaping my lips. "Meet me soon!" She nodded approvingly and waved goodbye.
I threw myself at Kyle first, wrapping my arms around him. "Bye Kyleeeeee! He chuckled and patted my back.
"Later Chipmunk."
I took in turns, throwing myself into Jace's and then Grayson's arms and waving goodbye to all of them. Alex and I attempted to climb over the fence, which took us forever and caused us minor injuries.
Alex supported me, helping me walk down the streets while I struggled to stand up straight.
"Alex?"
"Yeah Max?"
"Do you think dogs communicate with each other?" I giggled.
"How am I supposed to know?" He chuckled and gave up helping me, picking me up and throwing me over his shoulder, letting me dangle aimlessly on his back.
"Alex?"
"Yes Max?"
"How long did it take to write the dictionary?"
"For gods sake Max, I don't know !!"
"Alex?"
He groaned and I giggled when I felt his back vibrate on my face. "Yes?"
"What colour would a smurf turn if you choked it?"
"I don't know, find a smurf, I'll choke it and the You'll have your answer."
"Alex..?"
"No." He shot me down and I pouted.
We arrived back at the Parker household at about three AM and Alex tries to sneak us in. He turned to me as we reached the stairs , pushing his index finger lightly against his pink plump lips. I nodded and giggled, covering my mouth as I did so.
We crept up the stairs and I rushed into the bathroom, puking in the toilet. Alex disappeared into his room and when he returned, he was changed out of his clothes and into some tracksuit bottoms. I then proceeded to follow Alex into my room.
He helped me into bed, taking my shoes off for me and covering me over. He turned me onto my side and placed a bin by the side of the bed. I watched him as he sat on the floor beside my bed.
"I feel sick." I moaned at him.
"I'm not going anywhere." He smiled at me and added. get some sleep, princess." and my eyes drifted closed.
~~~
"Ughh " I groaned, clutching my head as soon as I opened my eyes.
"Hangover?" Alex chuckled, startling me slightly. He looked awfully tired, darker shades circled under his eyes.
"My head is pounding..."
"Yeah, no wonder! You puked four times during the night." I groaned again.
"When did you get up?" I asked him, squinting my eyes in hopes of relieving pain for my head.
"Uhhhh- I didn't go to sleep." He scratched the back of his neck awkwardly.
"Why not?"
"Well you uhhh...you were so drunk, you kept puking and I didn't want you to roll off your side and risk you choking...so I stayed up and made sure you didn't." He told me, looking awkwarder than ever. My heart melted instantly.
Who would have thought that Alex Parker actually had a heart?
"Aweeee. Alex - Thank you." I gave him a big smile and continued. "That...that was s-so nice of youuuu." I felt my lower lip stick out and tears springing from my eyes.
"Hangover phase one...being emotional." He chuckled, shaking his head. "Let's get breakfast yeah?"
