Chapter 43: ~42~Dads Visit

OverprotectiveWords: 17156

I woke up to the loud annoying music coming from someone's room. I swear if it was Justin again, I'm gonna kick him somewhere that is very dear to him. I looked over at my clock which read 6:15 am.

I groaned and groggily got out of bed and went to find that obnoxious noise. The school week was almost over, and all I wanted to do lately was sleep in.

Tie that in with the fact that I never go to bed on time, so I wasn't really getting a full nights rest. I stopped in front of Justin's bedroom where the noise was definitely located.

I slammed open the door to see Justin, Dylan, and Grayson rocking to heavy metal. They all looked at me as I walked in.

"What are you guys doing?" I asked maybe a little too calmly. I might have surprised myself.

"Nice to see your finally up, sleeping beauty," Grayson said smirking at me. "Why are you guys up so early?" I asked totally ignoring Grayson's comment.

"Oh, you think it's 6 am don't you? Well sorry to burst your bubble, but we leave in 5 minutes, " Justin said smiling sweetly at me.

My eyes widened as I heard what Justin said. "What! Are you serious?" I asked. They all nodded with a smug smirk on their face. "You better hurry. Wouldn't want to miss school," Dylan said smugly.

I glared at them as I ran out of my room and to mine. Their laughter could be heard from down the hall. I checked my phone to make sure that they weren't lying. You can never be sure with them, and sure enough, it was 7:56 am. School started at 8:15. We usually left the house by 8 which means I had 4 minutes to get ready.

I decided to just wash my face and brush my teeth. I would have to skip showering today. I threw on skinny jeans and a plain t-shirt all the while brushing my hair. Throwing on my book bag, I ran down the stairs taking two at a time.

"Woah, you're finally up," Jason said from the kitchen counter. He was sipping on some coffee with his laptop in front of him. He knew too!? I glared at him and shook my head as I threw my hair up into a messy bun. It looked too unruly to leave down.

"Why didn't you at least wake me?" I asked whiles slipping on my converse. He shrugged. "I didn't want to get in the middle of that. And besides, I would have driven you to school," he said taking another sip from his coffee.

"Well then I would have been late," I said grabbing an apple off the counter. "Ah you would have been fine," he said looking at me. Wait? So he gets worked up if I get a detention, but he wouldn't care if I arrived at school late?

I don't understand.

I gave him one last glare, but he smiled at me. "Bye, sweetie. Have a good day at school. Love you," he shouted as I ran outside. All of the boys were already in the car, and it was started up. I hopped in and Dylan quickly sped off.

"You guys are jerks," I said taking a bite out of my apple. This isn't even a proper breakfast! "It was funny though wasn't it?" Justin asked poking my cheek. I slapped his hand away earning a laugh.

"Not for me. I didn't even get to shower." Grayson found that hilarious. "Ew Lisa! Why didn't you shower?" he mocked. I reached up and slapped the back of his head. "Geesh. Spicy is even more violent today," he said.

"It's alright, she would have been like this regardless," Dylan commented pulling up to the school. "I am disowning you guys," I said stepping out of the car. I probably looked really trashy today, but it wasn't my fault.

"Have fun today," Dylan shouted walking in the next direction with Grayson. Justin walked up next to me, but I ignored him. "Come on Lisa. You knew we would get you back eventually. You should just be happy we didn't throw cold water on you. Grayson wanted us to do that," Justin said.

Of course, that would be Grayson's idea. Little pervert. "Dylan dealt with that. And besides. We were kind enough to wake you," he said smiling down at me. I continued ignoring him going to my locker.

"Aww, the little sissy is upset," Justin said in a baby voice pinching my cheek. "Would you just go away?" I asked slapping his hand away for the second time today. "You know, I was but since you asked so nicely I think I will stick around," he said slinging an arm over my shoulder.

"Don't you have your friends to get to?" I asked shrugging his arm away. I closed my locker and just stood there. Where are my friends? My patience with Justin is running down by the second.

"Oh, and by the way, your phone fell," Justin said. I looked down, but didn't see anything when I looked back up I saw Justin with it laughing. How did he even managed to get it? "Give it back!" I shouted. He started running down the hall, and as much as I didn't want to I had to chase him.

We weaved in between people and through different hallways. Justin reached a dead end and I sighed internally.  "Justin, I swear if you don't give it back right now, I am going to expose you to everyone at school," I said.

He seemed surprised about it but quickly masked it. "Please. You don't know anything," he said still holding the phone out of my reach. He was right. I didn't have anything concrete that would be considered shocking news, but I did have some very embarrassing facts, but then again, that might not be the best idea.

Justin was about to say something when we were interrupted. "Now what are you two doing down here?"

I turned around and froze. It couldn't be. That's impossible. I was staring at the same guy I saw at the movies, the same guy I saw with Jacob on our walk. He was standing right in front of me. How could he work at our school? How come I have never seen him before?

He looked at me but didn't seem to recognize me, or maybe it was as if he was pretending not to recognize. I knew good and well that he knew both of us. He also looked very different from when I last saw him. More...clean.

It was as if the person I saw the other day was totally different. But I recognized him. I recognized the beginning of the tattoo he tried to cover up. How could I forget? His warning was still stitched into my brain.

Who he was talking about I have yet to know. "Nothing. I was just giving my sister her phone back," Justin said handing me my phone. "Please do keep in mind this is the teacher's area only. That means no students," he said looking at us.

It was the way he looked at us that creeped me out even more. "Lisa?" Justin asked when I didn't do anything. "Oh, u-um y-yeah," I stuttered pulling Justin's hand along with my phone.

"What's your problem?" Justin asked once we were out of earshot. I kept looking back to where we just came from. "Why are you acting so weird all of a sudden? If you were worried about getting detention, it's not that big of a deal. Sure, Jason may be a little mad but it's nothing I am not used to-"

I shook my head cutting Justin off. "No, no it's not that. That guy, I have seen him before. Twice." I said still walking back towards my locker. The bell rung, which meant we should be getting to class. But that was the least of my worries.

"Okay. Lisa, I don't know if you are aware, but people see other people all around all the time. That's just how it is," he said giving me a weird look. How dumb can he be? "No! I mean he is the creepy guy from the movies," I said.

A look of realization dawned on him. "Oh, that's him?" he asked. I nodded in reply. "I didn't know he would be here. I thought after Jacob and I's walk I would never see him again, " I said stopping in front of my first-hour class.

The second bell rang meaning we were now late. Although, to Justin, bells are just there for decoration and have no meaning.

I really didn't want to walk into class at a time like this. I didn't even want to be in this building. I wanted to go home, where I could be as far away from him as possible.

"Alright, I will remind you in sixth, but Dad is going to be at home after school, " he said. I nodded. I almost forgot that was today.

"And we are definitely telling Jason when we get home, " he said giving me a look. What? Did he think I wanted to hide this too?

"I know, Justin. I was going to tell him anyway!" I exclaimed. "Yeah, okay, " he said walking off. With that, I walked into my first hour.

"My favorite girl!" I rolled my eyes as I sat in the back of Dylan's car. Grayson just got in and he was already being obnoxious.

"Shouldn't that be your Mom?" I asked glaring at him. "My mom is a woman. There is a huge difference, " he replied smirking at me.

"Anyway, " Justin interrupted before Grayson could say anything else. "We saw someone today, " Justin told Dylan.

Dylan gave him a confused look. "Is he alright?" Dylan whispered to Grayson. "Probably not. I'd assume he has seen alot of people today."

"What this smart person meant to say was, the guy from the movies, we saw him, " I said. Dylan thought about what I said for a moment before saying a couple of choice words.

"As in...in the school?" he asked. Justin and I both nodded. "Did he say or do anything?" Dylan asked glaring at us through the rear view.

"He just told us to get out of the teacher's area, but other than that, nothing, " Justin said. "Are you sure it's the same person?" Grayson asked.

I glared at the back of his head. Of course I was sure! "Yes."

"Like on a scale of 1-10 how sure?"

"I am 100% positive it's the same guy, " I said.

They both nodded both deep in their own thoughts. When we arrived home, we saw a different car parked in the driveway. I assume its Dad, since he was meant to come today. "Why is Dad here again?" Justin asked stepping out of the car.

"Because he wants to spend quality time with his children," Dylan said. Although when he said it, he didn't seem enthusiastic about it at all. I honestly was not expecting him to. We are going to need a lot more visits from Dad for them to even start warming up to him.

We walked inside and sure enough Dad was sitting on the living room couch. He sat up when he saw us walk in. Jacob was sitting on the other couch on his phone, but I didn't see Jason anywhere.

"Hey, kids," he looking over towards us. Dylan rolled his eyes and went upstairs with Grayson in tow.

"Hi Dad," I said as I walked over to Jacob, giving him a hug. I didn't feel comfortable yet giving Dad a hug. "Hey Lisa," he said back. "Hey sweetie," Jacob said kissing my head. "How was school?" he asked looking at me. "I actually have something to tell you and Jason," I said.

"Is it bad?" he asked. "Well...it can be perceived that way," I said twirling my hair around in my fingers. He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "What do you mean? What happened?" he asked with a hint of worry in his voice.

"Oh the same guy from the movies works at our school now," Justin said going up the stairs. I glared at his retreating figure. He didn't have to say it so bluntly. Dad heard what Justin said and looked over towards me.

Jacob didn't look to happy. "You mean the guy from our walk?" he asked. I nodded. "Justin and I saw him, and he looked like he worked there as a teacher or something," I explained. "Did he do anything?" he asked. I shook my head.

"No. It was as if that was his polar opposite."

Jacob ran a hand through his hair and sighed. "Well that cant be any good," he said. "What do you think he wants?" I asked sitting next to him. Jacob pulled me onto his lap. "I have no idea. I told Jason and he said he would check in at the the station today, but until then..." he trailed off.

I nodded. We were in the dark until Jason could get something...if he got something. "Well, how was your day Jacob?" I asked. "It was fine. I practically did nothing all day," he said sighing dramatically.

"Oh get over it. At least you didn't have to wake up to the boys pranking you. By the way how did you not hear that music?" I asked remembering this morning.

"I was already awake, and I heard the boys scheming to prank you."

I glared at him. "You also knew!" I exclaimed turning around to face him. He raised his hand in surrender. "I told you. I only intervene if someone might get hurt. Other than that its none of my business," he said.

"Of course it is. I am your sister. You are supposed to protect me from those demos."

"Oh come on. They aren't even that bad," he said. I stared at him. If the boys really wanted to, they could put me in complete and utter torment. "Okay, never mind," he said realizing he was wrong.

I just noticed that Dad was staring at us. I cleared my throat. It was starting to get really awkward. "Well, I am going to put my book bag up," I said getting up from Jacobs lap. He nodded as I started to leave the living room.

"Um, Lisa?" Dad asked stopping me in my tracks. I could see Jacob look up from his phone. "Can I see you for a sec?" he asked. He looked somewhat nervous. I looked over at Jacob to see him eye Dad suspiciously.

"For heavens sake Jacob! I am not going to do anything. I just want to talk to my daughter," Dad said defensively. After another couple of seconds Jacob nodded. "Okay, but don't go far," he said. Dad nodded and I followed him into the kitchen.

He sat on one of the stools, so I sat on the one across from him. He did look a little better from the last time I saw him. He was shaven and he actually cut his hair shorter. He looked more clean now instead of the scary looking man that he use to resemble.

I looked at him waiting for him to say something. "I need help."

I waited for him to continue. "I need help getting through to your brothers," he continued after a couple of seconds of silence. What? He wanted me to help him. "W-what? How am I supposed to do that?" I asked looking at him.

He sighed. "They barely look at me, Lisa. I don't know which route I am supposed to take, or how to go about it. I can't get through to them," he said. He seemed so sad about it, that I felt bad for him. "I mean, do you blame them?" I found myself saying. I didn't mean to, it just happened.

A pained expression crossed his face, but he quickly covered it. "I know," he said looking at the counter top. "I know I deserve it, but-"

"Why are you asking me?" I asked cutting him off. "Who else am I supposed to ask? You are the key to their hearts. They would take a bullet for you. I can see it in the way they look at you. They love you, Lisa. I wish I could give and receive that same love, but because of my messed up past, I ruined that chance. If you could talk to them and try to convince them to at least talk to me I am sure they will listen to you," he said.

I jumped when he placed a hand above mine. I moved my hand placing it in my lap. I didn't miss the sadness that crossed his face.

"Dad, that's your job. You have to take the initiative to talk to them. How else are they going to see that you are trying if you only sit there? If I ask them they will only be doing it for me, and I don't want that. If they talk to you, it will be because they want to," I finished and looked at him to gauge his reaction.

His facial expression remained neutral the entire time, and I started to worry that I had said something wrong.

He continued to look at me, and I started to squirm in my seat from his intense gaze. "So you won't do it?" he asked. I was shocked by his question. Didn't I just explain to him why I wouldn't?

"W-well I-"

"It's alright. You're right," he said. I sighed of relief internally. For a second he didn't look to happy. "I came here thinking that I would get some easy way out. But I quickly realized that that is not the case," he said.

I nodded agreeing with him. I would hate to be in his shoes right now. I wanted to ask him something though. Something that I probably shouldn't ask, but I needed to know.

"Have you heard from Mom?" She has been very much in the dark for a couple of weeks now.

I looked up at him waiting for his response. His face immediately hardened and he stiffened. "She is fine. So who is this guy you were talking about at school?" I furrowed my eyebrows at the sudden change of conversation. He barely answered the question.

"Seemed pretty serious," he continued. It took me a couple of seconds to get over his sudden change of mood. I didn't see why he would need to know that. "It's just this weird thing that's all," I said.

I wasn't sure if I should tell him or not. Or if I could tell him. "Come on. You can tell me. What does he look like?" he asked. I shook my head and got up. "I should really get to work on my homework," I said.

I gave him one last smile as I exited the kitchen and went upstairs. I face planted onto my bed thinking of just about everything. I thought about the look on Dads face that showed how badly he wanted to know about the guy I was talking about.

I sat upright when a sudden thought occur. One that I had wondered why I hadn't thought of earlier. The timing of each were too much of a coincidence to pass. Could Dad be the he the creepy guy keeps talking about?
