Ashley was taken aback. âWhat are you doing?â
Valentin looked at her. His gaze was deep and intense, and his fair, handsome face turned grim.
Jealousy surged in his heart again.
Valentin mused, Ashley only compliments me when sheâs drunk. Yet now, she so openly admires Kevin.â
Feeling Valentinâs unwavering gaze, Ashleyâs heart pounded nervously.
Ashley then tried to escape Valentinâs grasp, but he her no chance to gave
flee.
Holding her chin, his cold fingers gently caressed her skin. After a long pause, he spoke coldly.
âAshley, your taste in men is still as poor as before.â
Ashley was baffled and speechless.
âWhatâs wrong with my taste?â She thought.
Fuming, Ashley glared back at him. âEven if my taste is bad, yours is worse!â
Vacuum owned.
Ashley swatted away his hand from her chin. âLet go of me. Donât touch me like that.â
Valentinâs expression then turned grimmer.
Ashley stood her ground angrily. âYou say my taste is bad? Well, I think youâre handsome. Iâve always thought you were good-looking since we were kids. There, thatâs my bad taste!â
Valentin froze, his expression momentarily dazed.
Ashley stood up and walked away with a huff, leaving him with the view of her departing figure. She didnât want to deal with him anymore.
She thought angrily, âIf I talked with him again, I would be a fool!â
Valentin watched Ashleyâs indignant departure, and his eyes narrowed

slightly. After a moment, he picked up his phone and sent a message to his assistant, Tom.
Tom, who was munching on a fried chicken, paused for several seconds upon receiving the message.
He pondered, âInvestigate Kevin Franco? Who is Kevin? Why does Mr. Kingsley want me to investigate Kevinâs recent detailed information?â
Tom knew well that as a competent and discreet assistant, he shouldnât ask too unnecessary many questions.
He then thought, âItâs just a simple task to investigate a Kevin.â
During dinner time at the Kingsley Villa, the old butler, Gavyn, directed the servants to serve the dishes but noticed the atmosphere at the dining table was off.
He wondered, Why isnât Ms. Ramos speaking to Mr. Kingsley at all? Sheâs not even eating the food he serves her, either. Could they have had a spat? Thatâs impossible. Since Ms. Ramos moved into the Kingsley Villa, theyâve never argued. What happened today?â
Not only Gavyn but Tom also sensed something amiss the next day.
During a meeting, Valentin emanated a forbidding air, filling the conference room with an intimidating chill.
The companyâs senior executives were all on edge, hardly daring to breathe.
Several of them, who were not very strong mentally, didnât stop wiping sweat from their brows.
After the terrible meeting, several executives immediately pulled Tom aside and bombarded him with questions. âMr. Shaw, whatâs going on? Is Mr. Kingsley in a bad mood today?â
Tom was also wondering.
One of the executives, still shaking, patted his chest and said, âThat was way too close just now. I made a small mistake in my proposal, and although Mr. Kingsley didnât say anything, the way he looked at me was terrifying. I almost wet my pants!â
Tom rolled his eyes in disbelief. âThen you shouldnât make mistakes.â

Tom frowned, âDonât just say nonsense. Mr. Kingsley is always fair and strict in official matters, rewarding and punishing appropriately.â

Tom then had a sudden realization as he reflected.

Tom suddenly connected the dots and pondered, âWait a minute, Mr. Kingsley has been in a bad mood all day. Could it be related to Ms. Ramos?â
That evening. Tom drove Valentin back to the Kingsley Villa after work. Upon arriving at the Kingsley Villa, Tom immediately sought out Gavyn, the butler, and asked in a hushed tone, âDid Mr. Kingsley and Ms. Ramos have a fight?â

Tom curiously looked at the titles, and the next second, he was speechless.

Tom was taken aback and became worried. He then quickly reached for his phone. âIâll call the family doctor right away!â
Valentin remained silent but slowly turned back, his gaze lingering on Ashley in the living room.
Tomâs action with the phone halted as he suddenly understood.
âHow clever of me!â He thought with a smug realization.
Calmly putting away his phone, Tom shouted dramatically toward Ashley in the living room, âMs. Ramos, come quick! Mr. Kingsley is not feeling well, and heâs trembling in pain! He almost fainted just now!â
His shout was incredibly pitiful.
Tom even exaggerated a bit.
