THE SILENT LOVE ...Chapter 90 :Rasi, who was baffled seeing Sreekar slandering Swetha, came out of the trance by seeing her mother slapping him. She realized that Sreekar witnessed Arjun and Swetha in Arjun’s flat and misinterpreted the total scenario. She felt grateful to Swetha and Arjun for keeping their mouths shut not revealing the truth for saving her reputation in front of her parents.“Yes brother! Uncle was telling the truth. Whatever you saw was not the truth. You would have …”, before Rasi could complete her sentence, Swetha held her hand and stopped her.“Rasi! Stop it. You don’t need to explain anything when uncle was telling the truth”, interfered with her conversation.Sreekar rose to his feet and darted his eyes towards Swetha who spoke after a long time. Rasi shoved her hand, held her shoulder and reprimanded.“Do you think I will keep quiet when you are getting slandered by my brother? Why didn’t you tell me that he misconceived the situation after seeing you both there? I would have immediately told him the truth rather than getting you slandered”, rebuked Rasi while her eyes turned glossy.Sreekar darted his eyes between Rasi and Swetha not understanding what they meant. Feeling restless, he enquired Rasi about the truth for which Rasi lowered her head and explained everything.“Brother! I am very sorry. Mom! Dad! I am really sorry to keep this away from you. I am really unaware about the clash they are having due to Sreekar brother's misunderstanding. Actually I was the one who was with Arjun in the flat. I don’t know how, but Swetha came to know about his arrival to Arjun’s flat and rushed over to protect me from his wrath if he finds me there with Arjun. She locked me in the bathroom and I didn’t know what had happened. Might be Sreekar brother, after seeing Arjun and Swetha in the flat, misunderstood their relation as a couple. But I swear, I didn’t cross my limits with Arjun and just went to spend some time with him”, explained Rasi.Sreekar froze in his place  being drumstruck by hearing the truth. He felt like a heavy weight was kept on his chest making him suffocate. He felt very dejected for cursing Swetha when his sister herself is at fault. He felt remorse for his actions and guilt washed over his  heart. He slowly darted his eyes to Swetha who was staring at him while tilting her head to one side carrying all the misery that exists in the universe in her eyes with a pitiful look on her face.Sreekar, unable to bear the agony in her eyes, slowly lowered his head feeling guilty for hurting such a pure soul. Later he slowly raised his head and glanced at Swetha while his eyes were communicating by expressing his apology and the guilt he felt for his actions.Swetha, though felt downhearted with his accusations, couldn’t see him feeling wronged. Her heart sank by noticing the remorse and the guilt his eyes were carrying. She couldn’t perceive why his conflicted emotions were bothering her, pushing her towards the misery. She  can go through with his  frightening demeanor, teasing attitude but not bowing his head being wronged. She always wishes to see him head high, confident and dominant  like a ruler.Meanwhile, Meenakshi was infuriated by hearing her daughter’s words, rushed to Rasi and held her shoulder tightly. She felt downhearted after learning about her daughter’s secret affair and raised her hand to slap her but was caught in the air by Swetha.“Swetha! Don’t stop me. We gave her the freedom to communicate each and everything with us like friends. But she still did the things on our back. Let me teach this brat a lesson”, hissed Meenakshi.“Aunty! If that is the case, punish me first for keeping it a secret. You treated me as your family but still I kept the important matter away from you. But frankly speaking, this happened only recently. They have had feelings for each other for a long time but are frightened to express their love to each other. If she chooses any other person, I would have intimated you immediately but Arjun is the perfect guy who can keep her happy for the entire life. Please consider their feelings and Arjun had come along with his parent’s to ask for her hand. What more do you expect rather than feeling proud of your nurturing that the groom's family stood in front of you for your daughter”, persuaded Swetha.Meenakshi gaped at Swetha in astonishment while Chandra Mohan reached her and caressed Swetha’s head.“Swetha! Are you not angry for getting slandered for their actions? How can you still defend them? Why didn’t I give birth to you as my daughter”, exclaimed Chandra Mohan while his eyes turned glossy.Swetha held Chandra Mohan’s hands and queried,“Didn’t you say that I am your god given daughter. Do we still need blood relations when I take charge of being your daughter, Chandu!”, trying to make the atmosphere jovial.Chandra Mohan and Meenakshi hugged her from both the sides and show their gratitude. Later Meenakshi darted her eyes towards Sreekar who stood still in his place, guilt written all over his face. She slowly reached him, putting her hand on his shoulder to get his attention. Sreekar slowly darted his eyes towards Meenakshi and lowered his eyes, feeling guilty to see her.“Chinna babu! Did you  understand her kind heart? Not every woman is behind wealth and fame. There are  still a few women who are binded to ethics, culture and relations. Don’t you want to say anything?”, queried Meenakshi while patting on his shoulder.Sreekar nodded his head and replied in a voice audible to everyone,“I am very sorry.   I regret my actions”.Swetha didn’t wish to see him being in an awkward situation and announced,“Aunty! Arjun had come with his parents to ask for your daughter’s   hand. Please concentrate on welcoming them. I have some work and will be back soon. You please continue”, without giving any time for others to block her, Swetha ran away from there after glancing at Sreekar once.
