THE SILENT LOVE ...Chapter 69 :“Swetha …! Where are you?”, someone yelled for her.Swetha immediately came into her senses and realizing the proximity they were sharing made her retreat herself from him. She took a few steps back to keep a safe distance between them. Her face was flushed and her eyelids grew heavier, feeling embarrassed to raise her eyes at him and without giving a second glance to Sreekar, she ran away from there.Sreekar released the long breath that he was  holding for a long time which he was unaware of. He doesn't know how much time he stared at the direction where Swetha disappeared from while he kept staring at her back. He came into his senses when a hand landed on his shoulder which startled him. He immediately spun his head back and found Gautham who was looking at him with a baffled face.“Sree! What’s wrong? Why are you spaced out? Why are you looking disturbed from the time you came to the function? Is there anything which needs your presence in the company? If anything is there I don’t compel you to stay back. We can catch up later. I can understand your busy schedule”, exclaimed Gautham feeling concerned with his behavior.Sreekar gave him a wide smile and patted his shoulder while saying,“Gautham! Don’t worry about my busy schedule. I am really free to attend the function. Our friendship is more important for me than my meetings. I can reschedule them. I am really fine. Just thinking of something. Don’t get flustered”.Gautham smiled at him while nodding his head in acknowledgement and opened his mouth to say something. But the words got stuck in his mouth by observing his suit spoiled with ice cream marks.“Oh my goodness! Who had done this? How did this happen?”, queried Gautham.Sreekar lowered his head to check the stains once again and with a gentle smile he looked at Gautham while replying,“This is nothing. Your sister spilled it by mistake. Don’t worry. It’s not a big issue. I will go home and change it before going to work”.Gautham glanced at Sreekar suspiciously and queried while using the words very carefully,“Are you not furious with her for getting so near to you”.Sreekar glanced at Gautham with a blank expression for a while and later heaved a huge sigh while nodding his head horizontally.“It’s not her mistake. Don’t reprimand her later when she is not at fault. It was my mistake to bump into her”, explained Sreekar.Gautham gaped at him being astounded and held him through his arms while looking deeply into his eyes.“Sree! Are you really my Sreekare? I am hearing this from you after a long time. I can see the change in you. You are not infuriated when you are touched by a lady. Oh my gosh! Is your despise for women diminished?”, exclaimed Gautham.Sreekar glanced at Gautham with a serious face and stated,“It’s not what you think. I never stop despising women. They are the cause for men's destruction. I will never forget my brother’s agony and his atrocious decision of taking his life for a mere woman”.Gautham looked at him with disappointment and tried to convince him saying,“Not every woman is an evil person. You can find an angel if you see with a clear mind”.Sreekar shook his head in denial and responded,“I could see only the evil women who want the men only for their enjoyment. They want the attention by having a wealthy person as their man but  when it comes to loyalty they lack it. They can go to any extent for fame and wealth”.Gautham shook his head and tried to change his mind but Sreekar cut off his words and bid his  bye to him.“Gautham! I will take the leave now. You need to look after the other guests rather than sticking to me. We will catch up later. We will celebrate your marriage once you are free from all these, Okay?”, queried Sreekar.Gautham smiled at him and nodded his head in approval. They both shook hands  and Gautham ushered him towards the gate. Sreekar bid bye and headed towards his car but  halted in his way and whirled his head towards Gautham with a  small smirk on his face.“Gautham! May be an angel is there in between these despicable women”, waving his hand, Sreekar headed to his car  and hopped into it without giving Gautham any chance to question him further while his heart was filled with the thoughts of Swetha when throwing that statement.Gautham stood flabbergasted with his statement and the playful smirk appeared at the corner of Sreekar’s lips. It was the first time to hear a positive word  from Sreekar indicating the women after  the trauma he went through because of his brother’s death. He felt  that something was fishy with Sreekar’s words and decided to find it out at their  next meeting.Sreekar left the place after failing to have a glimpse of Sweth while glancing at the house with disappointment. But he was not aware that Swetha was watching him  hiding behind the window in her room after running away from him.Both were trying to look out for each other oblivious of the fact that  one more person was watching them  from the time Sreekar entered the function.
