THE SILENT LOVE ... Chapter 54 :Swetha, who was about to ascend the steps, halted in her place and whirled back only to face all the three members who were glaring at her.Swetha swallowed the lump formed in her throat very hard feeling frightened by seeing their fury faces believing that they were mad at her for being out at night.“Aunty! I am sorry for staying out at night. I will never repeat it again. Please don’t be furious for my  mistake”,pleaded Swetha.They all looked at   her for a while and exchanged their glances with each other. Later all the three bursted into loud laughter. Gautham slowly reached her and patted her  head.“Silly girl. Why are you so scared for this simple matter? This is not the first time  you are in their house at night. Why are you feeling so nervous this time?”, queried Gautham, eyeing her suspiciously.“Brother! Everytime I stay either for group study or if any project work is pending. But I used to inform you before staying there. This time I didn’t let you know about my stay over there. I thought you will be mad at me for not informing about it”, explained Swetha while clinging to his arm.“Dad! Did you see how your darling child behaved like a scary kitten one minute before and now she  is clinging to my arm  to get pampered”, teased Gautham.“Gautham! Don’t tease my  daughter. She still obeys the elders  which made her feel guilty for not informing about her night stay  with Rasi. Don’t forget your days of  sneaking out at nights without telling us. She is better than you”, Krishna Kumar supported her darling daughter.“Daddy…!” whined Gautham.“Don’t try to tease my daughter if you don’t want to bring your teenage days”, warned Mahalaxmi, reached Swetha and took her and while informing her with sparkling eyes.“Swetha! Your brother’s marriage date  was fixed for the  third week of this month. It was a very auspicious day  and the bride’s family wished to hold the  wedding on that date. I was eagerly waiting to tell you the news as you will be performing every tradition that a sister needs to do in the marriage. Will You fulfill our wish of being your brother’s side throughout the marriage?”, queried Mahalaxmi.Swetha gaped at her in astonishment and jumped on her feet feeling excited.“Oh my god! Aunty, are you telling the truth? Is My brother going  to get married soon? I will have so much fun in this marriage. Brother! Be ready for the teasing you are going to get from  my friends”, turned to Mahalakshmi and by clinging on her shoulder,she whined,”Aunty! Why are you asking me? Don’t you know that  you should order me whatever I have to do? Though we are  not biological siblings, I never feel the  difference. Don’t you feel me as your daughter? It’s really hurting”, keeping her hand on her heart, Swetha faked the tears very dramatically.“Here comes the drama queen. Look mother, she has started her actions for whom you are defending. No doubt she is going to give me a hard time in the marriage. You better send her back to the village till I get married”, complained Gautham.“Brother! You broke my heart with your words. Don’t you  have the wish of me staying by your side  throughout the marriage being your sister? Is this the love you have for me? Am I only the one who is craving for your love? It’s okay. I don’t need to stay for the person who doesn't have even a single drop of love towards me. Go and get married without me. you can shower all your love  on your new wife. I will go to  my village. Uncle! Send me back to my home. Before getting married he is trying to push me out. It’s better to leave earlier rather than getting kicked out by him after the marriage”, Swetha wiped her fake tears while moving towards the door.“Hey Swetha! No maa, don’t say that. I will kick him out before you step out of this house. You are more important than him. Don’t cry maa. You will be the one who carries the responsibilities in this marriage. He has to bend his head in front of you. Come here, don’t cry. I will teach him the lesson. Maha, what are you looking at? Why don’t you console her?”, Krishna Kumar trying to console Swetha questioned Mahalakshmi.“Oh my goodness! What a drama. Even movie actors could not withstand your actions. Dad, can you even see a single drop of tear in her eyes? Such a drama queen”, taunted Gautham who got a smack on his forehead from his mother immediately after taunting Swetha.“Don’t say a single word against my daughter. I will kick you if you don’t stop teasing her. Who is the one waiting for her from the early morning? Who is the one  who kept the money ready for her to buy new sarees to wear in the marriage? What is that you kept in your pocket to give her  once you  inform her about the marriage?”, queried Mahalakshmi.Gautham scratched his neck feeling awkward for getting caught by his mother and looked at Swetha who was  teasing him by sticking her tongue out while shaking her thumb finger sideways.“Mom! Look how she is teasing me  and you are supporting her”, complained Gautham.By the time everyone’s eyes landed on her, Swetha kept an innocent face  and looked pitiful in front of them.“Gautham! Don’t try to  blame my child”, warned Krishna Kumar.Gautham's face fell down upon hearing his fathers words and glanced at Swetha who was giving him a mischievous smile. He immediately pointed his finger to her saying,“See how she is smiling…”, before he could complete the sentence, they all heard a loud laugh for which everyone’s attention darted towards the direction of the laugh.
