THE SILENT LOVE ...Chapter 26 :Swetha's mind was disturbed with the earlier event and stayed oblivious throughout the day in the college. Rasi understood her state of mind and tried to cheer her up. Arjun was perplexed to see her in that state and tried to find the reason but couldn’t succeed.“Sweths! I don’t feel like staying in college after witnessing your gloomy mood. I feel very downcasted if you look hazy. We all will have high spirits when you are so cheerful. What’s wrong with you? Don’t you want to share with me?”, queried Arjun.Swetha looked at him and could acknowledge the worry in his face. She didn’t want to bother them with her unnecessary thoughts. She gave a wide smile to them and replied.“Nothing to worry about. It’s just some random thoughts. We should not spoil our time with unnecessary things. Come,  let’s go. The seminar will start soon”, and strolled towards the auditorium along with others.In the meanwhile Rasi took the chance to enquire about her state of mind.“Sweths! Are you still thinking of the morning incident. Did you get disturbed by my brother? If so, tell me. I don’t mind to be a cupid between you both”, teased Rasi.Swetha looked at her with widened eyes and queried with astonishment,“What do you mean? What are you saying?”.Rasi gave a teasing smile and replied,“I never saw you getting distracted like this. I feel like my brother is disturbing your heart. I never saw my brother being so intimate with a woman after my elder brother’s death. Maybe he is also getting disturbed with your charms. What do you say?”, started wiggling her eyebrows.Swetha, without hesitating, punched in her arm very hard for making such a comment which made her feel more embarrassed. Rasi screamed in pain for the sudden attack and held her arm tightly. Arjun. Who was sitting beside her hushed her saying that it is time for the seminar.“You devil! I will see you once we go back”, threatened Rasi. “Sorry Rasi. I didn’t mean to hit hard. Does it hurt? You know, I don’t like those types of talks”, apologized Swetha.Rasi nodded her head and queried,”I know. But why are you getting distracted?”.“I feel very frightened by seeing your brother. He looks at me so menacingly, making me feel terrible. I feel like he will swallow me alive if possible. He might  have held a grudge for that slap. Might be he was waiting for a chance to take the revenge”, answered Swetha, pouring all her fear.Rasi squeezed her hand and assured,“Don’t think unnecessarily. He doesn’t hold a grudge for that slap. If so he might have shown you the hell earlier itself. He is not someone who will go easy on a person who offended him. Maybe he regrets behaving wrongly with you on that day. Don’t get scared of him. Okay? Don’t even think of the morning event and don't spoil your heart with bad thoughts. I am not saying it to tease you. I don’t want you to get distracted from your normal life by being acquainted with your family culture”.Swetha gaped at her in bewilderment and queried,“Why do you say so? Why will I have bad thoughts? I am not someone who acts on impulse. I don’t do anything worse which brings shame to my family”.Rasi understood that Swetha was hurt with her words and explained,“Sorry Swetha. I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings. I was scared that the chemistry between you people may cause disturbance. In case you raise any feelings towards him, he will not reciprocate the same which can leave you broken. I don’t want to see you with a broken heart. My brother hates love and despises women”.Swetha shook her head vigorously and replied,“No, never, It will never happen. My father is the one who chooses a groom for me. I will never go against him. I was confused with your brother’s behavior which made me think of him. Nothing more than that. I will never make my life complicated”.Arjun got annoyed with their whispers and rebuked,”Am I invisible to you people? Why do you keep whispering? Don't I have the right to know what’s happening? What are you both whispering about?”.Rasi nodded her head negatively and answered,”Nothing! Just girls random talks”.Arjun didn’t push them further and concentrated on the seminar along with the other friends. Once the seminar got completed and everyone came out of the auditorium and took their way to home. Swetha’s gang also moved towards the parking lot to take their vehicles but got halted by hearing a voice.“Neeraja …!”.
