THE SILENT LOVE ...Chapter 10 :Swetha came near to Sreekar and stretched her hands holding the tray. Sreekar took the cup slowly trying to look into her eyes which were glued to the floor.“Can I have some water”, asked Sreekar expecting her to raise her head and see him.Swetha raised her head, looked at him and immediately ran into the kitchen to fetch the water. She came back and handed the glass to him which he took from her hand brushing his fingers to her.Swetha felt goosebumps all over her body from the roots of hair with his touch and immediately retracted her hand from the glass and ran into the kitchen. Sreekar chuckled inwardly by seeing her childishness and drank the water. Later he sipped the coffee and kept his eyes close for a while.“Wow! The coffee tastes so good. It’s really a divine feeling. I had the actual taste after a long time”, Sreekar appreciated after having the first sip.Gautham laughed out loud and said,”I think you should give the compliment directly to my sister. She always complains that we are exaggerating things whenever we appreciate her coffee”.Sreekar looks at the coffee cup and shifts his gaze to Gautham saying, ”Really the coffee tastes amazing. It gives a pleasant feeling to the mind. Your sister has some magic in her hand”.Swetha who was listening to their conversation blushed from the roots of the hair by hearing his compliments. Her heart danced inwardly to make him feel delighted with her coffee. She sighs in relief realizing that he will never expose her in front of their family.Sreekar spoke to Gautham for a while and both promised to get along whenever they are free. He decided to leave and his eyes searched to have a look at Swetha before leaving. He heard the anklets sound and whirled his head to that direction and saw Swetha going towards her room. Swetha looked at him beneath her eye lashes while going to her room. She caught him staring at her and immediately ran into her room.Sreekar shook his head, bid bye to Gautham and left for his uncle’s house. He stayed for the day and spent time with his uncles’ family. He left for his house after having dinner. Throughout the day his heart yearned to see her for one more time whereas his mind reprimanded him for getting intrigued by a  woman, making him remember his brother’s death.The following day…The next day Swetha went to the college along with Rasi on her scooty and met their friends. Rasi was flabbergasted to see Arjun with bruises on his face. She rushed near him, held his hand and demanded for an explanation.“Arjun! What’s wrong? Why is your face covered with bruises? Did you get into any fight? Who has done this to you?”, queried Rasi while her eyes got moistened.“Your brother!”, unable to hide the incident from Rasi as a secret , Swetha spill out the truth.Everyone stared at her in astonishment including Arjun with misbelief. Rasi was perplexed by hearing the sudden news and couldn’t believe it.“ Sweths! What are you saying? He is not her brother”, persuaded Arjun.“No Ajju! He is her brother. He has come to see them yesterday. I even broke his car glass while playing cricket. He gave me a dangerous look which scared me to death”, explained Swetha.Rasi looked at her with misbelief and queried, “Are you sure? Did he do it? But why?”.Arjun explained everything to Rasi that happened on the previous day. He informed her how her brother saw him holding her hand and how he mistaken him for bullying her.Rasi gaped at him in astonishment, with fear written all over her face. She held Swetha’s shoulder for support to calm her heart which was thumping rapidly.“What should I do now? What would he think about me? He didn’t confronted me for anything. Did he believe what he saw?”, she started babbling nonsense.“Hey Rasi! Calm down.  Why are you so scared? He thought that Ajju was bullying you. Why are you so afraid?”,queried Swetha.Rasi looked at Swetha and replied, ”You don’t know Sweths. What if he mistook the situation? What if he informs to my parents? What would happen if they took it seriously?”.“Your brother thought that I was bullying you. But you behave like you were caught with your lover”, queried Arjun, while his eyes were playing with mischievousness.Rasi was flabbergasted with his comment and unable to see into his eyes, she lowered her head and nodded negatively while her cheeks turned to pink.“No, it’s not like that. Seeing me with a boy from my college near my home, I am afraid that my brother might think otherwise. Nothing more than that”, defended herself.“Oh really! I thought there might be something more than that. Are you sure that nothing more is there?”, queried Arjun with a teasing tone.
