" ððð'ð ððð ð ðððððð
ðððð ððð ðððððð. "

ððððððððð ðððððððð ðððððð ðððððð ððð ððððð, Meili hated her even more. She hated her flawless blonde hair and her predictable blue eyes. Everything about her screamed basic and Mei just want to shout it out to the world. Even worse, she was already chatting up Camila and Bethany.
"What do they see in her?" She stabbed her fork down into her salad once more, glaring at the blonde across the room.
"Are you jealous?" Ella taunted, her eyes on Mei's plate which looked like a murder scene.
"Of that? Hell no. She's obviously had work done." She rolled her eyes, "No one is naturally that pretty."
"If it makes you feel any better... she hasn't even spoken a word to me, yet."
"Just wait. She'll probably pull you under her spell too in a matter of no time."
"You're hurting your lettuce."
"Do you know where Sebastian is?" Mei ignored her comment and finally took a bite of her food, "I haven't seen him since first hour."
"Why do you think I'd know where he is? I've barely talked to him." Ella sighed, "Do you know where Theo is? He came to school looking a little... dead, and of course Bethany doesn't give a crap."
"I don't know where your boyfriend is."
"He's not my boyfriend, Mei."
"I know. I was joking." She stood up and walked to the trash can to throw away her food.
"Jeez, you're in a crabby mood today."
"I watched a Korean drama this morning."
"I thought Ezra and I told you not to watch those anymore."
"You did, but I don't care." Mei put a hand on her hip, "Well, are you coming? Let's go find the boys."
The two girls left the courtyard to search the halls for their friends. They checked the front office, the gym, every classroom, every closet, and asked every person they could until the only place left to look was the boys locker room.
Ella and Mei mad eye contact as Mei slid a manicured hand over the doorknob. When Mei hesitated Ella rolled her eyes and opened the door for her.
They were stunned.
Ella began screaming as they saw Theo unconscious body still on the floor. Sebastian was crouching over him, his cheeks wet with tears. Mei, calm as ever, closed the door behind her and slowly approached while Ella ran to his side.
"What did you do!" Ella screamed at Sebastian. Her hands were shaking and they covered her mouth as she sobbed. Mei sat down on her knees and checked his pulse. It was fast. Too fast.
"What happened." Mei asked sternly as she nodded toward Theo. She began moving to turn him onto his side and Sebastian began to help.
"W-We were coming from swim and I noticed he'd been a little out of it all day. They other boys went to lunch and we were about to head there, but he collapsed on the floor." His eyes were frantically looking from her to Theo, "I didn't know what to do."
"It's okay. It'll be alright. Tell me how long it's been?"
"It happened just a little before you two found us." His voice shook and she knew he was terrified for his friend. Mei nodded and began shaking his shoulder.
"How are you so calm! What's wrong with him!" Ella was freaking out beside her and Mei nodded for Sebastian to comfort her.
"Who do you think found Bethany in 10th grade?" Mei replied, "I've done my research since then. He's having an overdose."
She tapped his face softly with her hand, and he drowsily looked up at her. She opened his eyes with her fingers and sure enough his pupils were dilated. His skin was sweaty and taking a almost blueish purple color. He looked sick.
"Theo?" She shook his head, "Theo, look at me. Stay awake, alright, I'm calling 911-"
"Don't!" He murmured urgently, his words slurred together, "Don't you fucking call the police."
"What the hell? Why not-" He grabbed her wrist and she raised her eyebrows.
"If the dean finds out I've been on drugs I'll be expelled and kicked off the lacrosse and the rugby team." He tried making eye contact with him, but all she did was try to twist from his strong grip.
"Get the hell off her!" Sebastian ripped her arm away from him, "You're hurting her." Mei frantically pulled out her phone and began dialing the number.
"Keep him awake, Seb," She turned to Ella, "And you, stop crying and shut up. You're stressing me out."
"Nine-one-one operator, what is your emergency?"
"My friend is having an overdose." She began, "I don't know what kind of drugs he ingested."
"Where are you?"
"DuPont Preparatory High School." She answered, "My name is Meili Chen and the victim is Theo Kensington."
"And how old are you?"
"We're all 17 years old." She replied then looked up at her friends, "There are two other students with me, Sebastian Kingsley and Elaheh Ahmad."
"One last question, where in the school are you?"
"The boys locker room."
"Thank you. Help in on the way. Please stay calm and stay on the call."
"Ok. He passed out, and I check his pulse and pupils. It's fast and they're dilated. I turned him on his side in case he throws up."
"You must already know what you're doing."
She didn't answer. It was painful memory to relive... finding Bethany almost dead in an empty bathtub. They had went to some party thrown by the older upperclassman at the time. She knew Bethany had gotten into drugs, but she never said anything. It was something she'd never forget. After the incident she thought everyday how she should have said something about her friend who was trying to hurt herself. She she hadn't, and it became too late.
The police sirens sounded a few minutes later being they were in the city and close to a station. The medics came rushing in and taking Theo away on a stretcher immediately. Then the three aristocrats were brought to be questioned by the police. There was no reason to lie.
They couldn't protect Theo from the mess he created. It was either life or death, and that's something even Meili couldn't argue with.
