Hope's POV~
I woke up before Lily did. So I was just laying there with her in my arms, thinking that I'm really happy I have her. My thoughts got interrupted when Lily's grip on my tightened and she started whimpering and shaking. She was having another nightmare. I went to rub her back for comfort, and she flinched. I just continued to rub her back and coo her softly to try and make her feel safe so the nightmare would stop, since it's not good to wake someone from a night terror.
And it didn't work. What really got me worried was when I saw her hands glow red. She siphoned me. "Oh shit." I whisper to myself, thinking quickly, I put a barrier around the bed. Right as I did that magic surged out of her cracking the bed frame, but thanks to my spell it didn't damage any of her stuff. Realizing that it's only getting worse, I have to wake her up. So I start shaking her awake. "Lily, Lily you have to wake up. Lily." then she shot awake, which also caused her to hit our heads together. "Ow!" we yelled at the same time and touched our foreheads.
After a second, she moved and sat at the end of her bed, resting her feet on the bench in front of it and holding her head in her hands. Sighing, I went over to her, put my legs on either side of her and wrapped my arms around her waist from behind, resting my head on her right shoulder. Brushing some hair behind her ear I speak quietly, "Lil... I know you don't want to... But it might be time to start taking your medicine again. I haven't seen your nightmares this bad since you killed someone for the first time a few years ago."
She just shook her head before responding, "His name was Andrew Allen, and that was in self defense. This... This was different, Hope. I chose to do that to those people. I... Liked... Doing that to those people. God, what's wrong with me." This made me shake my head, "Hey, hey, there is nothing wrong with you. You weren't you okay? That wasn't really you Lily, this is you. The person who bakes souffles, sing songs from every musical ever created, can quote Star Wars and Harry Potter word for word. The person who loves playing the piano and singing with her sister. The person who will make someone soup if they're sick and make me all my favorite foods when I'm feeling upset. That's who you are. Not the person you were when you shut off your humanity. Because your humanity Lily, makes you who you are."
When I finish saying that, she nods a little, but she's still looking down. So, I did what any girlfriend would do to make their girlfriend feel better. I gently and lovingly kissed her shoulder, then her neck, then her cheek, then I used my hand to grab her chin and make her face me. Looking her in the eyes, I could see that she was still upset, so I kissed her, hoping to take some of the pain away, or at the very least distract her from it. And it worked, because she kissed me back.
After a while, the need to breathe became a thing, so we pulled away. Catching our breaths, I placed my forehead on hers whilst putting my hand on the side of her face before saying "I love you, Lillian Estrella Forbes-Salvatore. I will never stop loving you. I will love the worst parts of you along with the best. And I will never leave you again intentionally Lily." when I said this she smiled. A real smile, making me smile too.
"I love you too Hope Andrea Mikaelson. And I will always be here for you, day or night, to make sure that you're okay. And if you're not, I'll be here with you to help you through it... But right now I'm going to shower." She says the last part getting and kissing my cheek, making me laugh.

While Lily was in the shower I was just drawing in a sketchbook I left in here. I've been wondering where it was. I was so endorsed in what I was doing that I didn't know Lily got out of the shower until the door opened. When I looked up I was awestruck, Lily walked out in just a towel, and she was using another one to dry her hair. She was also singing "Find light in the beautiful sea, I choose to be happy, you and I, you and I, we're like diamonds in the sky. You're a shooting star I see, a vision of ecstasy"
Then she notices that I'm staring and she smirks. "Like what you see? Take a picture it'll last longer" when says this I blush and she laughs. "You're cute" is all she says before walking into her closet. She walks back out in a giant hoodie and hands me some clothes. "These are some clothes you left in here, if you don't feel like wearing those I kept your room the same and sealed off so no one has been in there but me. There is also an extra toothbrush in the bathroom for you." I take the clothes and smile. Kissing her on the cheek, I walk into the bathroom and change.
When I finish changing Lily comes back in the bathroom to brush her teeth too, when she pauses and looks in the mirror like she's looking at someone. I don't think she meant for me to hear, but I did. She whispered "what the hell?" to herself before looking next to her. "You okay babe?" I ask getting slightly concerned. She just nods her head. "Yeah, I just thought I saw some... One" she answered glancing at the spot she looked at before. "I'm sure it's nothing. Just forget I said anything." she responds before finishing up in the bathroom.
When I'm finished getting ready Lily pecks me on the lips before walking to her door. "Now as much as I would love you to stay, you need to get to the human school you apparently go to now. And I have to do some things here to get ready to start classes tomorrow. I love you, stay safe, don't punch stupid humans even if you want to." when she says the last part I laugh and roll my eyes before saying goodbye.

About an hour later I was walking along the outside of Mystic Falls High when I saw some students from the Salvatore school running away after vandalizing the school. "Looks like some of the wolves. Lower classman with one upper-class man probably, it's what they usually do." Jumping, I turn to the voice and see Lily walking up beside me. "You scared me," I say looking at her and she shrugs. "sorry. I walk like a cat, you never hear me when I walk, you know this. So are you like, early to class or late?" She asks scrunching her eyebrows together.
We stopped walking right when we got to where the Salvatore students teepeed the area. "Early, I think. What are you doing here babe? Not that I'm not happy to see you, but it's just strange of you to show up here." I ask giving her a small kiss hello. She goes to get something out of her jacket pocket, which is when I notice her outfit. Light blue ripped skinny jeans, white lace crop top, white Nikes, and a Salvatore letterman jacket. She finds what she was looking for and holds up a paper bag. "I listened to you. I got my medicine refilled, I was on my way back to school and I figured I'd say hello. I walked, didn't feel like driving."
I nod my head as she puts the medicine back in her jacket, "I'm happy you took my advice, it might help you. And if not, then we'll figure something else out." I answer and she smiles. Lily was about to say something when a cop car pulls up. The new sheriff gets out. "This looks pretty self-explanatory but do you want to give it a shot?" she asks looking at us. Lily and I both shrug. "Um, toxic masculinity mixed with outdated sports pranks." I say and Lily comments as well, "And the theft of AP art supplies that I just ordered for the school." and she slightly groans. The sheriff nods her head since it's a good explanation and it's true.
Then the back window rolls down. "There's no way did it. She's a timber wolf, not a stallion." I just look at her confused. "Maya? Are you okay what happened?" I ask and she gets out of the car whilst responding, "Oh don't worry. She's my mom. We don't really like to talk about it." "we?" I ask and then Ethan comes out of the other side of the car. "Hey, Hope, and person I don't know. That a stallion jacket? Maybe she's the one that vandalized mom." Ethan says walking up. "So you two are-" I go to say something but the sheriff interrupted, "My kids. No matter how much it embarrasses them."
"Cause who doesn't like getting dropped off in a cop car." Ethan says walking away, making Lily nod in understanding. "I'm here on official business. And who are you, stallion letterman?" the sheriff turns her attention towards Lily. Lily holds out her hand to shake and replies "Lillian Forbes-Salvatore. But most people call me Lily." "Salvatore as in the Salvatore school?" Maya asks and Lily nods. "My father is Stefan Salvatore. Now, sheriff, you said you were here on official business, given you would never have known I was here to see my girlfriend that means it's not for me." Lily commented looking at the sheriff. "I need to speak with Principal Saltzman."

Lily's POV~
Hope and I used the Gemini spell to listen to what the sheriff was telling Alaric about. There's a missing kid who was on our property to vandalize the old mill before the game between the two schools today. "I'll leave you my number. You can call me anytime." when the sheriff says that Hope and I raise our eyebrows and look at each other.
"Did you get all that?" Alaric asks and we make ourselves visible again. "Yeah, she's definitely into you." Hope says and I just nod and cross my arms. "Lily, what are you doing here?" Alaric asks and I raise my arms in question, "Is it really that hard for people to believe that I came here to see my girlfriend?" I ask and Hope chuckles. "Anyway, she's just new in town trying to make friends which is exactly what you should be doing Hope." he continues and Hope stands from where she was sitting.
"Yeah, tried that last year, didn't really work out. So I'll stick to monster slaying." she says and I nudge her. "Didn't really work out except for Lily. Thank god. And I'm lucky she forgave me. Now, the sheriff said that the missing guy was near the old mill?" Hope continues and I interject, "She also said that there were missing dogs. Could be connected I mean it is a school full of werewolves. I can look around ask Dorian to do research, plus I have access everywhere given my last name no one will question it. Trust me I did it a lot last year trying to find out about Kai Parker."
"Okay well aside from that, any other ideas?" he asks and Hope answers, "Just one. And we're all gonna hate it." when she says this I start laughing. I know what it is. "Y-you're going to play in the football game today, aren't you? Don't worry babe if I tackle you I'll be gentle." I say still laughing. "Wait you're playing?" when she asks this I nod. "I may have turned off my humanity for the summer but I'm still the soccer captain, which means I'm their best kicker, so yeah I'm playing, they need me. Which reminds me, we have an assembly starting soon so I have to go. Bye love you, see you at the game." I say kissing her cheek and walking to the door.
"Bye Alaric." I say stoic like. "Alaric?" he asks and I just roll my eyes. "I may have forgiven Hope, but I'm not forgiving you anytime soon, all of this is still your fault." I answer and leave.

When I get back to school I find a seat next to Josie, "hey. Look I'm really sorry about the things I said over the su-" before I could finish my sentence I'm wrapped in a hug. "It's okay. That wasn't really you. I'm just really glad you're back. I missed having my sisters around." When she says that I smile and hug her back. We pulled away when the new headmaster started speaking.
"As you all know, it is time for the annual American football match with Mystic Falls High. Today you will not be forced to lose the game so that humans can feel superior. Every one of you is special. Every one of you. And it's time you showed it!" The headmaster says and this makes me confused. "How?" Josie asked standing up. "By using your powers in moderation miss Saltzman. The goal is not to expose ourselves, merely to win. Think of it as an exercise in control."
Kaleb stands up, "Well, I am all for it. After last year it'd be really good to show those timberwolves what we're really made of." "Yes and who better to lead this endeavor than our very own Landon Kirby," The headmaster says throwing Landon the ball. I laugh dryly and stand up, voicing my thoughts "Anyone ever. You treat him like he's a hero when in truth he's a fraud." and with that, I walk away. Leaving the school to whisper and murmur about what I said.

After changing into the #2 jersey and some running shorts, I put my hair in a French braid and went to the football field, only to see Landon drop the ball. "Sorry, foster care didn't have a football team," he says as Josie walks up to him and I walk past them commenting "Which is why you shouldn't be on the field in the first place bird boy." "Lily!" Josie yells but I just shrug and counting walking away.
I hear Josie do a spell on Landon, and he throws the ball all the way across the field cracking the glass door on the bus the timberwolves are walking out of. I smirk when I see Hope, she doesn't look happy to be here. Walking up to her I see Dorian walking up to us and Alaric as well. "Well, you may hate sports but you do look cute." I saw making Hope roll her eyes. "Best of luck. But I should warn you guys are totally screwed." I say and Alaric raises his eyebrows waiting for me to explain. "The new headmaster wants us to use our powers. 'In moderation to win the game'" I mock him in a perfect British accent.
"Let us begin our annual right of American excess. But unlike last year, I expect there to be no unseemly violence. Only for each team to play with the fullest extent of their abilities. Understand? Timbereovles of Mystic Falls, you may as I believe they say, call it in the air." then the headmaster throws a stallion coin in the air. "Heads." Hope says and the coin turns into a double sided tails. "Tails never fails. Sorry babe." I say and we go to shake hands. Landon holds onto Hope's hand a little longer than necessary making Josie and I raise our eyebrows.
"Having another milkshake moment?" Josie asks glaring at Hope. I just roll my eyes, "No Jo I think Landon there is the problem." I say as I shake Hope's hand. "You're defending someone you don't even know?" Josie asks and I shake my head, I grab Hope's face and kiss her. Pulling away I turn to Josie and say, "No. I'm defending my girlfriend." then I walk away.

"...It's a carnivorous creature that feeds on werewolves." I hear Alaric say as I walk up to him and Hope. "Good thing it's not a full moon then," Hope says as I walk next to her. "Yeah except Raf used the crescent ring you gave him and has been stuck in wolf form all summer, so the monster is probably looking for him, eating peoples dogs in the process." "Okay, I have to find him before the Shunka does, I need an excuse to leave." Hope says as she gets called over by her team, and I get called over by mine.
In the first play, we scored. Josie used magic to hide the ball in Kaleb's hands and he scored. This play, Josie wanted Landon to blitz Hope. He was confused so I spoke up, "I'll blitz her. Frodo seems to be having trouble understanding it." "Are you really going to tackle your girlfriend?" Landon asks and I smile. "Of course. A game is a game. And she's tougher than she looks. Now let's go."
When Hope got the ball, she threw it and I tackled her, but I wasn't gentle. "Ow," she says sitting up and grabbing her ankle. "Yeah, sorry about that. I broke it so it would look believable plus you heal, now let's go, you can pop it back in place when we're out if sight. Oh and make a painful face." I say standing up and pull her up, I wrap an arm around her waist and she puts and her arm on my shoulders. "I'm gonna take her to the nurse," I say and we walk to Alaric. "Looks like you need a new quarterback." Hope says grabbing a duffel bag from him. "Happy hunting girls." and then we walk to the school.
Hope pops her foot back into place. "ow. Did you really have to use your powers to do that Lil?" she asks and I smile. "I didn't. Come on we have to get Raf some clothes." I say and we walk into the school. Going into Landon and Rafael's room, I go into Raf's boxes and get him clothes while Hope starts to do a locator spell to help us find Raf. "What are you doing in my room?" Landon asks standing at the door. Well shit.
"Uhhh I know this looks bad..." Hope says trying to think of an excuse. "It looks like magic. I'm starting to think you're more than just Lily's girlfriend." Landon says and he tried to run, Hope froze him and I rolled my eyes. "It's like they don't listen to me when I speak I swear. We are doing a locator spell to find Rafael because there's a Shunka in the woods. A Shunka eats werewolves. And before you say it, chicken boy, you're not coming." I say zipping up the bag while Hope unfreezes him.
"Raf's my best friend, if you're going to find him then I'm coming too." Landon tries to get us to let him come. "You do realize I could freeze you again right?" Hope asks and Landon pauses. "Would that sell last forever?" "No, but I could always kill you again and we can see if there's a limit on how many times a Phoenix can die." I reply and smile. Then I shove the bag into his arms, hard, and walk out saying "Just try and keep up with us bird boy."

"Yeah, Raf should be up ahead." Hope comments whilst looking at the map. "Cool." Landon says and I correct him, "Meaning not cool. If he stays in one place the Shunka can find him. And then you know, eat him." "Oh. It's just... Nothing." Landon was going to say something but stops. Hope, being the nicer of the two of us, stops walking and turns to him. "Meaning something. What's up?" she asks and he looks away, "It's stupid. It's just, when Raf was first stuck as a wolf he used to always hang out with me. And then he just stopped-" "And you're worried that it'll be the same once he's human again." Hope states and he nods.
"I told you it was stupid." He replies and I shake my head. "It's not stupid. It hurts to lose someone you love. Take it from both of us, we know how it feels." I say and he smiles. "Oh, I know all about that too. Growing up in the foster system, getting bounced around from family to family made me want to shut everybody out. Till I realized life's a lot harder without someone watching your back." When he says this I nod, but before either of us can respond we hear someone call for help. Hope and Landon take off. "Guys! Wait! You don't what that could be!" but by the time I say that they already ran off.
Groaning, I catch up to them quickly and we all stop. "I'm guessing that's a Shunka?" I say to no one and Hope nods before throwing a fireball at it. "Is there a plan B? Please tell me there's a plan B?" Landon asks and I just shrug and shake my head, I don't have a plan B. "Both of you turn around." Hope says dropping her bag and facing us. "Why?" Landon and I asked simultaneously. "Because plan B involves me getting naked" She answers and motions for us to turn around.
I smirk. "Wow babe, we haven't even had our first date don't you think this is moving a little too fast? I mean I'm not complaining but the woods for our first time together?-" I say and she yells at me. "Lily! No time for your smart talk! Turn around." I do as I'm told and Landon speaks up. "Why does plan B involve you getting naked?" Hope throws her shirt over to me and replies "Because this monster feeds on werewolves" This makes me realize what she's doing. "No!" I yell turning to her, but she just turns me back around. "But you're a witch. A lying witch. A lying very naked witch." Landon says as she throws more of her clothes to the pile by me.
"Hope I don't like this!" I say and she sighs. "Me either but it's what we're doing. When I draw this thing as from you, find Raf and Dr. Saltzman." She replies, which earns another question from Landon, "Why would it chase after you?" We turn around when we hear a growl. "Cause you're a were-witch?" He says and then she runs away. But it doesn't chase after her. "I'm not the droid you're looking for so please, move along" Landon says and I nod to him, "Star wars reference? I hate you a little less now. But still hate you."Â The last thing I see is the Shunka swinging it's paw at me, and then nothing.

"Lily! Landon! Lily! Oh my god!" I hear Hope coming up to me as I wake up. "I'm so sorry! I would never have left you if I knew it wanted Landon, I thought it would follow me" she started rambling really fast and I just shake my head. "No, it's fine, I'm fine, I'm not hurt, I'm okay. I think..." I say and then look down, there are three long slashes on my stomach that are still bleeding. "Um... Maybe not. But it looks like they're healing." I comment and she freaks out. "Oh my god. This is all my fault-" but I stop her. "Hey, Hope, it's not your fault relax. Look, it almost healed already. So help me up and let's find Landon and Raf."
Once I'm standing I hear a noise behind me. Turning to it, I see Rafael, and he growls and runs towards me. "Ah!" I scream and vamp speed up a tree, but he manages to bite my leg. "Ugh! Why does he always bite me! It's always me!" I yell and Hope stands under the tree I'm in. "Come down so I can heal you." she says and I just shake my head. "Na-uh. Nope. Change him back first. He's gonna bite me again." Hope rolls her eyes. "Really Lily?" when she sees that I'm not moving from the branch in on she shakes her head and turns him back.
As he's shifting I jump down and Hope and I turn around so he can change. She grabs an arrow from Alaric's crossbow and cuts her hand. After drinking some of her blood, ew, Rafael is done changing into his clothes and I kiss her on the cheek. Then off we go to find Landon.

When we find Landon, Hope shifts into her wolf form and attacks the shunka. Then Rafael shoots it in the neck as it throws her to the ground. While it's distracted I vamp speed over to Hope, pick her up, and speed away to a safe distance. I turn away as she shifts back but I still hold out a hoodie for her. After she puts it on, we turn to see Landon and Rafael having a bro moment, so we walk away.
"You know, you're very soft by the way. I never really got the chance to touch you in your wold form until now." When I say this Hope laughs, "I'm soft? I never knew that. I haven't let anyone close to me when I'm in my wolf form." I smile, "Well I'm glad I was the exception. Even if it was just for a second to drag you away from a monster. Are you okay by the way? It threw you to the ground pretty hard." I ask concerned and she nods her head while entwining our fingers. "I'm okay. A little sore from the fall but aside from that, I'm fine." this makes me sigh in relief.
After a while of walking, I stop. "You might want to go see that friend of yours, Maya? Was it? I overheard something at the game, Josie did a spell the headmaster told her to use and Ethan got hurt. I'm going to see if I can find Lizzie." I say and she looks worried but nods. "Are you sleeping in my room tonight?" I ask and she thinks about it for a second before responding, "Yeah, but I might not be there until late. I'm gonna go to the hospital, I love you see you later." "Love you too." We share a small kiss and then head our separate ways.

I find Lizzie in the basement, and MG is watching her from around the corner. I go to walk past him but he stops me. "Yo, your sister is seeing things look" I ignore him and turn the corner, but pause at what I see, "Oh, sorry Liz. I didn't realize you were with someone." I say looking at the guy she was kissing. He was wearing old time-y clothes. "Hello. I don't believe we've met. My name is Sebastian." he says in a charming accent whilst holding out his hand. I shake my and reply, "Lillian, though most people call me Lily. Well, sis, I was going to see if you wanted to hang out given my recent um, state, over the summer. But I will come find you later-"
"Oh, Elizabeth is your sister? So you're a witch as well then." Sebastian says and I nod and shake my hand a little, "I'm special. I'm a vampire-witch hybrid it's hard to explain. But I'm sure Lizzie will eventually. Bye, nice meeting you." I reply and wave good-bye while walking away. I also grab MG and leave my sister to her moment. "Who were you talking to?" MG asks as I drag him away. "What do you mean? I was talking to that guy Lizzie was kissing" I reply, only to get a weird look.
"Lil, there was no one there." When MG says this I roll my eyes. "No, I'm serious there was nobody there I swear" "Then maybe he's cloaked or something. Because he was there, I saw him, I talked to him, I shook his hand. Hell Lizzie was kissing him. So he's definitely not fake." After I say this I walk away.

When I got back to my room, I decided to go to sleep. After showering and taking my meds I got in bed and fell asleep.
~In the dream~
I hear a menacing laugh, I got to turn to it but see nothing. The next thing I know, I'm chained to a chair in a warehouse. "I told you I'd find you." I hear a familiar voice say, but I can't place it, and I can't see them.
That's when I hear an ear piercing scream. Then the sound of bones cracking, and the howling of a wolf. Out of no where, a gold wolf appears, and then runs away.
Then I'm back on the beaches of the Bahamas. I hear someone scream. "No please! Stop!" then I hear a laugh, my laugh. Walking into a building on the beach I see me. There are bodies everywhere. To many to count. That's when the me in the dream notices I'm standing there. She walks up to me and yells. "This is who you are! You're a monster! A murderer! A ripper!" then I hear that howling again.
~End of the dream~
I shot awake, breathing heavily. The things replaying in my head are "you're a monster" and the howling of a wolf. I decide not to go back to sleep, what's the point of I just keep waking up because of nightmares. Putting on my glasses, I go over to my paints and set up a blank canvas, then I start painting mindlessly.
About an hour had passed when Hope walking in. "Hey, I don't think you'd be awake." She says walking over to me and kissing the top of my head. "Yeah, I couldn't sleep. So I've just been painting mindlessly, until I got this." I reply looking at the finished painting in front of me.
"It's beautiful" Hope comments and I smile. " It's you. I don't know, In my dream, there was a gold wolf and howling so it made me think of you." I say and look at her. She's smiling, which makes me smile as well.
I stand up and go to my bathroom to wash the paint off my hands. Hope comes in while I'm doing that and wraps her arms around my waist from behind and kisses my shoulder, then my neck. When I finish drying my hands, I turn around in her arms. "I like this. These little moments just being with you like this. It makes me happy." I say smiling, making her smile and lean in to kiss me.
After a minute, I wrap my arms around her neck, deepening the kiss. She bites my lower lip and tugs, making me gasp a little, giving her the opportunity to slide her tongue in my mouth. We fight for dominance in the kiss, she wins, making her smile. Then Hope grips the bottom of my thighs, and picks me up, setting me on the counter behind us. I wrap my legs around her waist and pull her closer.
Then she starts rubbing her hands up and down my thighs, and she disconnected our lips before kissing my jaw down to my neck. She finds my sweet spot almost immediately and starts nipping, kissing, and sucking, making me moan. After a few minutes of that, she kisses her way back up to my lips.
Pausing for a second, Hope pulls away and just stares into my eyes. "Will you go on a day with me?" she asks and I just smile. "I would love to. But for now, I think we should head to bed." I answer and she lets me hop down.
After she changed, Hope climbed into bed, resting her head on my chest and I wrapped my arms around her waist. And we fell asleep peacefully.
(A/N)- A bit of a shorter chapter, but still pretty long so yay.

Side note: Idk if any of you guys are arrowverse fans, but I do have a book for that too, it has like 16-17 chapters I think and they're all long so if you go on my bio or whatever it's called you'll see it with the description.
