I sat by Trina during breakfast. Its a Saturday morning. I had already showered and was wearing my favourite red blouse and white shorts.
I tried to talk to Trina a few times but she just ignored me. I just ate my omelette silently.
"Is something going on between you two? Its like you guys are not talking" mom spits.
Great observation mom! Trina stops eating. Mom raises an eyebrow at us for an answer.
"We had a small argument yesterday" Trina admits.
I inhale deeply thinking of the argument we had.
"What was it about?" Dad asks this time around.
"Well I asked Nicole the reason why she didn't welcome you but she didn't want to tell me"Trina explains. I remain silent.
" Trina! Remember she told us she had a headache? That was the reason why! Right Nicole?"Mom asks me. Dad's eyes grow wide.
"Yes mom" I say and I see dad relax.
"You see?" Mom told Trina.
"But its a lie mom! She is hiding something" Trina spits.
Mom furrows her eyebrows in confusion.
"Trina its okay! I talked to her yesterday and she told me the reason why she did that. The reason is because she had a headache. Case closed" Dad rattles and I tug my lips upwards in amusement. This topic was too itchy for him.
"Okay dad" Trina says and goes back to eating her omelette.
"So are we back to being sisters?" I ask.
Trina looks at me. Mom and dad have their eyes on us with smiles on their faces.
"Yes Nicole" she says and hugs me. I chuckle.
"Am sorry about yesterday! You can come to my room anytime Trina. I didn't mean to kick you out! I was in a bad mood"
"Its okay Nicole" Trina says the moment we break apart and mom claps for us.
"We can go watch a movie in my room after breakfast yeah?" I ask her.
"Sure! Which movie?" Trina asks.
"Jurassic World" I say.
"That's my favourite!" Trina shrieks.
"Its mine too" I say.
We quickly eat and head to my bedroom. I placed the DVD into the deck and the movie came on. Trina and I sat on the bed.
After 2 hours, the movie came to an end. I checked the time on the wall clock. It was thirty six minutes past twelve. Time runs so fast.
"That was a great movie! I can't stop loving it" Trina spits.
"Yeah! Me too! I would watch it over and over again" I say.
Trina smiles.
"So what are we doing next?" I ask her.
"I feel like watching Ice Age! Its my favourite cartoon" she spits.
"Well then! Ice Age coming up" I say and replace the Jurassic World DVD with Ice Age.
I sit by Trina and watch Ice Age for another hour and a half. It also comes to an end but it was really hilarious.
"I wanna show you something Trina" I say whiles entering my closet.
"What?" She asks curious
I grab the black one sleeved dress I bought at the mall....lemme rephrase! Jake bought for me actually from my closet.
I show it to Trina.
"Whoah! Where did you get that dress Nicole?" She blurts.
"At the mall" I say shrugging.
"Its beautiful" Trina says
"Are you taking it somewhere?" She adds.
"Yes! Am taking it to a party tonight" I reply.
"A party? Can I go with you?" Trina asks.
"No! You can't go! " I quickly say.
"But why?" Trina pouts
I think about all the dangers. There will be drunk teenagers, people will be puking all over, others will be making out everywhere and some stupid guys will get the chance to rape girls. I remember a girl was raped at Troy's party last three months.
"Earth Nicole!!" Trina snaps and I realise she's been waiting.
"Its been 2 minutes 34 seconds and you haven't answered. What were you thinking about?" She queried.
I shake my head and mumble "nothing" whiles straightening the dress.
"Why can't I come with you?" Trina asks again and a lump forms in my throat. How am I going to tell her?
"Okay you can come along!" I finally say.
"Yaay!!!" She yells.
"But you need to be by my side at all times" I warn.
"Sure" she says
"Am getting my dress" she adds and rushes out of my room.
I sigh. I think I'm making a big mistake taking her along. What if something happens to her? Mom would get so mad! I need to act quickly. I look at the time and its 1:57pm
We have a few more hours to the dreaded party. I have to come up with something.
"I'm baaack" Trina announces and I turn to see her holding a sea blue dress. It was a round neck simple dress with sleeves and its length reaches Trina's knee.
"Nice dress" I compliment. I didn't know my sister had great fashion sense like that. I would like to see her collection some day.
"Yup! And I've got these to match" she says holding up a glittering sea blue purse and a pair of blue stilettos.
She was so excited about this party. I sigh.
"You don't look happy" Trina says.
"I promise I'll be careful"she assures and that warms my heart a bit. She was fourteen wasn't she? She can protect herself! She can distinguish between what's good and bad.
I smile and she smiles back.
" Kids! Its time for lunch "mom hollers from downstairs.
Trina giggles and we exit my room for the dining hall.
We sit at the table with mom and dad. There is ravioli in front of us.
" yummy mom"Trina says after taking her first bite.
I was enjoying it too.
"So are you guys doing well in school?" Dad asks.
"Yup! I had grade A in all my tests dad" Trina answers proudly.
"That's wonderful" Dad says clearly impressed.
"Yes! Trina is a wit! She's extremely intelligent" Mom adds.
"And you Nicole? How are your grades?" Dad asks me.
Mom stays quiet and Trina looks at me expectantly.
"Well erh, I didn't get A in all. Just a few" I manage to say. This term's examination results was awful and mom's heart broke when she saw it but when she saw Trina's own it brought her hope.
"Its nothing sweetheart! You just need to get more serious. " Dad says.
I nod.
After lunch, I helped Trina and mom wash the dishes and went to my bedroom.
I needed to study! I've been getting distracted lately.
I pick up my math textbook and place it on the bed. I'm going to solve algebra. I take my notebook and my pen. I flip the pages until I reach algebra. Then I begin my calculations.
When it struck four, I changed over and studied literature. Then after Literature, I did History.
By the time I was done with History it was six pm. I was impressed. This is the longest time I've spent studying actually. I pick up my history books and dumped them on my cabinet. Then I went to the bathroom to shower. When I came, Trina was sitting on my bed.
She was wearing her yellow bathrobe.
"I already took a shower! I just came here to get dressed for the party"she states and a lump forms in my throat.
I just nod. I walk to her in my black bathrobe. I help her get dressed and apply make up on her face. I place her choker around her neck and her bracelet around her wrist. Then I styled her hair in a fringe.
I couldn't recognize my sister when I was done. She looked hot and sexy. Her stilettos fitted her perfectly with the dress.
" stop staring at me! Now gimme the mirror"she says and I turn her around to face it. A gasp escapes from her lips.
"Oh my gosh Nicole!" She says
"Yes Trina! You look amazing" I complete
"I need to take a selfie" she says and takes her phone from her purse.
I sit in front of my dresser and apply some make up. I put a choker around my neck. A black bracelet around my wrist and a ring around my index finger. I wear my dress and black boots. I release my braided hair and it falls down my back.
"You look gorgeous Nicole" Trina gushed when I was done.
"Thanks! You too" I say.
My phone rings and its Danny.
I pick up.
"Where are you? I'm already here" he spits.
"I'll be right down" I say and hang up
I glance at the time on my phone and its seven minutes past seven
"Who's picking us up?" Trina asks
"Danny is! He's already here! Let's go" I say and we exit my room.
I was relieved when no one was in the hall especially mom. She would have told us to go back to our rooms and study or sleep. Trina and I got outside and Danny's Bentley was parked in front of us.
The wind was chilly but it was normal for me. I climbed into the passenger seat and Trina sat at the back.
Danny is surprised to see my sister.
"You two look hot" he says and Trina and I laugh.
He moves the car into the road. We pass through the drive thru and order some drinks. Then we began our journey to Troy's club house.

We got to Troy's club house at exactly 8:10 pm. We were ten minutes late and the party was in full swing. I could see the disco lights going on and off. And the music was so loud.
"Oh my gosh" Trina gushed.
I got down from the car and Danny and Trina followed suit.
"Do you think it is a good idea bringing Trina here?" Danny whispers in my ear.
"I know its a bad idea but I had no choice! She insisted!" I whisper yell.
"Then stay close to her! Ilk also be watching her" Danny whispers and leaves.
I follow him and Trina is right behind me. There are a line of guys at the doorway. I made sure Trina was in front of me so that none of them would lay a finger on her and the one that did would taste my fist.
They gave her winks and others whispered in my ear that I look hot. I knew they were drunk so I just rolled my eyes. Typical of them. I spot a couple making out in the hallway and I quickly occupy Trina in a conversation so that she wouldn't look there.
I was relieved when we finally reached our meeting area far from the scenes downstairs.
"Whoah Nikki! You look gorgeous" Kimberly blurts the moment she sees me. She's wearing a white dress which reaches mid thigh and it was V neck and so her boobs were showing a bit. Her blonde hair was curled and it cascaded down her back.
"Is that Trina?" She asks looking at her.
"Yeah" I say.
"She looks different! So beautiful" Kimberly gushes and Trina giggles.
"The two of you look wonderful tonight" Troy adds.
Aaron wasn't around.
"Where's Aaron?" I ask.
"He went downstairs for some juice. He will be back" Kimberly says with her brown eyes twinkling with delight. She made Trina and I sit on the couch. Then she sat beside Troy and leaned into him.
Danny was sitting in another couch holding a bottle of whiskey.
"I'm thirsty Nicole"Trina says
I roll my eyes. So soon?
" I'll get you some water! Just stay here with Danny, Troy and Kimberly.
She nods and I make my way downstairs to the kitchen.
"Nikki!" I hear and turn around. Aaron stood there dressed in a black t shirt and denim jeans. His dark hair was tousled and his green eyes shone in the light.
He was holding a glass of punch.
"Aaron" I answer. He strides towards me on the staircase. His face a few inches from mine.
"You don't cease to surprise me Nikki. You look gorgeous" he says and my breath gets caught in my throat
"You are so beautiful" he says and touches my cheek.
"Well erh Thanks" I say nervously and try to run away but he holds me in place like a magnet. He wasn't drunk too. I feel like he's about to kiss me.
My guess was right. He brushes his lips against mine. What an awkward moment! But I lean in and his tongue went deeper sending shivers down my spine. His mouth tasted like punch. I wanted to stop it but I couldn't.
I hear glass shatter and we pull apart.
We're both breathless staring at each other.
"Such a good kisser too" he says.
"This is weird Aaron" I manage to say.
He chuckles.
"I'll see you later" he says and makes his way upstairs. His green eyes had this predatory gleam in them. I couldn't believe what just happened. Aaron and I kissed? Gosh!
