"Keep your voice down Trina!" I scold.
She nods and I smile.
"So did he give you his number?" Trina asks.
"No Trina"
Her face falls."what about his address?"she adds
I shake my head.
"But I'm still dying to see him!" Trina blurts.
"Hey kids!" A male voice announces and Trina runs to hug the person. Its dad.
"How are you Trina?" He asks.
"Am fine daddy" she replies.
I glance at the time on my watch. It was 6:09pm. He kept so long! Am sure he was busy having a fun time with that harlot.
Mom walks out of the kitchen and hugs him.
"Welcome back honey" she says
He chuckles. I just relaxed in the chair.
"How was your trip?" Mom asks
"It was awesome" he replies.
"Nicole, won't you welcome daddy?" Trina spits surprised.
"I have a headache Trina" I lie but she doesn't believe me.
"Do you want some pain killers dear?" Mom asks
"I just need some rest! I'm going to my room" I say and head towards my door.
I entered my room and slammed the door. I put on the television and watch some series whiles eating my ice cream.
My phone rang again and it was Aaron. I pick up.
"Hey Aaron! What's up?"
"You wouldn't believe what happened today" he says with amusement laced in his tone. I could picture him. Am sure his green eyes are blazing with excitement by now
"What happened Aaron?" I ask curiously and take a bite of my ice cream cone.
"Danny pranked Mr Cartwright" Aaron says and I spit out my ice cream.
"WHAT?!!!" I yell. Mr Cartwright is the worst and meanest teacher on campus. Every student is afraid of him. He could have you do the worst thing you would never think of doing in your entire life! So no one tries to cross his path let alone PRANK HIM!!!
"Danny is a few points ahead of you now! You need to do something Alpha" Aaron warns.
Yeah he's right! Danny could overthrow me with that.
"So what was the prank?" I ask.
"You know Mr Cartwright always washes his face in the sink right?" Aaron says
"Yeah"
"He kind of installed something in it and when Mr Cartwright opened the faucet, chocolate and ketchup spilled in his face and on his clothes. Everyone laughed"
"Oh my gosh" I say and laugh.
"And then Danny appeared suddenly. He began sympathizing with Mr Cartwright and even gave him tissues to wipe himself"
I double over and laugh till my cheeks hurt. Serves him right for being so mean!
"Then he asked a group of boys to sing for our dear teacher who just got pranked! You should have seen Mr Cartwright's face! He looked like he was going to explode any moment" Aaron says and I laugh harder.
"So what happened to Danny?"
"He's quite popular now! And they want him as the new alpha because of the stunt he just pulled"
I clench my fists. This shouldn't be happening. I don't want to compete! Especially now that my mom wants me to be a goody two shoes! And at the same time, I don't want Kate to tease me for losing my title as the Alpha. Fuck!!! I need to come up with a plan.
"Nicole! Are you there?" Aaron asks on the line.
"Yes I am! Sorry!" I say.
"He was called to the principal's office and was given three weeks detention for what he did but he doesn't care! As long as he has been able to prank a whole MR CARTWRIGHT!!!" Aaron says and I feel my stomach pretzel.
"Thanks for the info Aaron" I say
"Welcome" he says and I hang up.
I needed to come up with a plan! I needed to score more points and win the students' heart again. But that meant TROUBLE!! And I know this time around, mom wouldn't forgive me. I sigh.
There's a soft knock on my door.
"Come in" I say and my dad walks in.
"Oh its you! I hope you enjoyed yourself! Why did you even come home? You should have gone to stay with her" I rattle.
"Nicole! Don't be so judgemental! You should know me by now" my dad spits.
I give him an amused expression and he sighs.
"She's my co worker as I said earlier" my dad justifies.
"I get that dad! But I don't understand why you two were flirting and behaving like some couple" I spit.
He sighs.
"We just went there to get some coffee and then she kissed me. And that's when you arrived" he says.
"Oh really? But you said you got back yesterday? Why didn't you come home?" I spit
"Because my boss called and told me to work on some things so I slept in the office and I met her this morning and we decided to get some coffee" he says.
"So you mean she was drooling over you?" I ask.
"Exactly" he replies.
I want to believe him but I still have suspicions. I narrow my eyes at him.
"Look Nicole! I love your mom so much! I wouldn't do anything to hurt her! Believe me" he says. His blue eyes were full of sincerity.
"Okay! I believe you! But the next time I see something like that, I'm telling mom"I snap.
" There wouldn't be a next time"He assures.
I nod. He is happy and I see a huge grin on his face.
"I need to go and change. See you later" he says and exits my room.
My thoughts ward off to Danny's prank. My phone bells and I see messages. One from Aaron and one from Kimberly. Kimberly is also a part of our group. She is a blonde with brown eyes. She has tattoos on her arms and legs. She's a party maniac.
I looked at Aaron's own and he sent me a video of the prank. I checked Kimberly's own and she also sent me pictures of Danny's prank. It was hilarious. I laughed till my cheeks hurt when I was done watching the video.
I decided to call Danny.
"Hey Nikki" he responded.
"What were you thinking?" I spit out
He chuckles.
"I don't know! The prank spirit just paid me a visit" he says
"Mr Cartwright is gonna kill you"
"No he can't. Or he's going to jail"Danny states.
" did you do that to become the next alpha? "I ask even though it hurt.
He scoffs.
" Of course not! You know very well am not interested in that title. I just did that to come back into the limelight. You know I've been quiet for a long time now."
"But most of the students want you to be the new Alpha" I point out.
"Ha! I don't want to. Even if they elect me, I'm not going to be the next Alpha. Besides Nicole, I think you are a great Alpha and you still have people who support you. I also support you"
I feel my head swell hearing Danny say those words to me. I know Danny and I know he's being sincere.
"Thanks Danny! But Aaron says you're ahead of me by a few points and I need to pull up a stunt to beat your points"
"Well, that's your choice Nikki. Cos am not going to be the next Alpha! So you choose to pull up a stunt is none of my business. But I would love to watch it" he says.
I laugh at his last statement.
"I would think of something! By the way, that was an awesome prank you did! Congratulations!"
"Thanks" Danny says
"Troy's party is tomorrow at 8:00pm" he adds.
"Can you pick me up tomorrow?" I ask
"Sure Nikki" he says
"Thanks goodbye" I say and hang up.

I walked to the bathroom and took a long shower. Then I dressed up in my pyjamas. It was 7:00pm.
My door creaks open and Trina walks in.
"Hey Trina! What's up?"
She stands in front of me and folds her arms.
"What's wrong Trina?"
"I should be asking you that question Nicole! What's wrong with you?"
I furrow my eyebrows and a laugh escapes my lips.
"I don't get you Trina! What are you trying to insinuate?"
She smiles.
"Why didn't you welcome dad? Cos I know that headache tale was a lie" she states.
I exhale.
"Look Trina! I had a long day! I had a headache when I got back but I didn't tell you" I lie.
"So you really had a headache?" Trina asks raising a brow at me.
I bite my lip. I don't want to lie to her but I don't want to tell her what I saw. Daddy already explained that it was accidental.
"You can't give me an answer! It was a lie Nicole! Why did you do that?"
"It was for a reason" I say.
"For what reason? Do you know you broke his heart when you did that?" Trina yells.
"Don't raise your voice at me!" I yell back.
"Okay! Am sorry" she says sober.
"Trina, I don't wanna fight with you! But please leave my room"
"Are you kicking me out?" She asks me. I could see heart break in her brown eyes. I didn't mean it that way.
"Its not that but this topic is too delicate to discuss. And I can't give you the reason why I did that so its best you go" I say even though it hurt. She was my sister. I don't have to treat her that way. But she should mind her own business sometimes.
"So you can't tell me the reason why you did that?" She asks close to tears. Her voice was shaky.
I remain silent and stare at the stars on my pyjamas.
"Its nothing! I thought you were a cool sister Nicole! I thought as sisters we could tell each other secrets! But I was wrong! You are like everyone else! I HATE YOU!!!" she yells and barges out of my room. Tears run down her cheeks as she left.
"Trina!" I yell but I hear her slam her bedroom door and I know she's not gonna speak to me again.
Trina and I have had so many fights since we were little. But I never liked the idea of fighting with her.
I sigh. I switched off the television and my lamp. Then I go to bed.
