The next time Charlotte appeared, she was floating above an icy forest. Cecily Edevane, standing nearby, looked up and looked at her.
Charlotte looked a little indifferent. "You are insistent, Heiress."
"We, the Heirs, have always been superior to the Sorcerers. None of your kind have ever been able to match us. Even when you are in the majority, everyone in the end still falls against you. This generation should have been equal. Even the greatest of the current Sorcerers, Vanessa, is no one worthy to stand before me. Thatâs why I come here continually; for the first time, one who is worthy appeared."
Charlotte shrugged.
"To everything, there are exceptions, Heiress. Each of us was born with a different mission." She said as she descended and set her feet upon it, speaking again.
"You were born to lead the vampire race, but I was only born to lead myself and a small group of people. Even so, that small group is above the entire strength of the vampire race. Can you understand that? No one worthy appeared; a causality simply appeared, and you have stumbled upon it."
Cecily frowned. "What do you mean?"
"If you canât figure it out, itâs not your time."
"Youâre just as annoying as you were the first time."
"If youâd stop being so pushy and stressful, it would be nicer to see you. I might even consider you a friend, a potential sister. But your degree of insistence is annoying."
Cecily frowned even more, not understanding what the hell this woman was talking about.
"Even if someone worthy has appeared in your race, your dignity stems from your ability to grow. You are not yet worthy enough to face me in a head-on battle."
"I know. My sword skill is superior, but power is not with me. Still, the one who got hurt last time wasnât me."
"Tsk, thatâs why you donât go down well."
"We think alike."
"This time, I came because of a curiosity thatâs been gnawing at me for a while now."
"Just talk; I have guests to attend to. But I can listen to you once since weâve been fighting for a long time."
"Youâre not in favor of the human race; whatâs your plan?" asked Cecily Edevane.
Her question might have left Charlotte speechless, but she answered quickly.

"I think the beatings last time made you a little crazy. I thought I hit you in the arm, but it looks like I hit you in the head."
Cecily shook her head, waved her hand, and dropped something heavy and strange on the floor. Charlotte frowned, and Cecily spoke.
"I always knew there was something strange; why could I come here and never be ambushed? I was always prepared, and naturally, you couldnât catch me, but you never tried, not even once. Even though I was always looking to kill you, you were always calm and didnât care about me. I can understand it now; you are not of this age. The power I have, though amazing to those of this age, cannot compare to yours." She said, looking at what was on the ground, covered by a white blanket.
"I went into that place solely to come across this, and because of that, I realized that you are not in favor of the human race, Charlotte Adams. And I donât care if you are or not, just that thereâs something strange going on with my race, and I need to know some things to understand where Iâm in." Cecily culminated.
Charlotte sighed as she listened to her speak. "Youâre smart and cunning. But cunning isnât always good. It could kill you. You must know when and where to use that cunning to find out what you want." She said, and she began to walk softly over to where Cecily was standing.
Her words seemed to have a strange weight to them that left Cecily thoughtful.
"I am only curious to know your motives."
"My motives you cannot know unless you are trustworthy. I will tell you that, in this world, there is only one person trustworthy to me at this time. The rest of you are just pawns in my chess game." Charlotte smiled as she said this and reached in front of Cecily, placing a foot on what she had thrown on the floor.
Cecily tried to move then, but Charlotte spoke up.
"Oh, yes, I will tell you that lately, my domain has expanded to your dear family home. So, you must be careful and not come back here. If you catch me in a bad mood, I might kill you." Charlotte even raised her hand to touch Cecilyâs chin.
That was the moment Cecily realized she couldnât move.
"Your skills are amazing, but theyâre not well developed. Go back there and serve as a stepping stone. If you want to live, choose the right side, the one that the heart that brought you here tells you to choose." Charlotte smiled, and after she finished speaking, she bent down, grabbed what was lying there, and carried it away.
Cecily was then able to move again. She wasnât scared, far from it. Somehow, she looked unperturbed, despite what she had just witnessed.
âI could have gotten away with it, but now this confirms it. You are not in favor of the human race. I feel I must thank you, Charlotte Adams. A few words from you make me see the big picture. No wonder so many talented women follow you.â Cecily turned and disappeared as well.
A few minutes later, Charlotte arrived at her mountain, where some elders were waiting with her master.
They looked at her. "Why is there a vampire presence on the mountain, but he is not here?" her master stepped forward to ask.
Charlotte looked at him and kept walking without answering until she passed them. "Cecily Edevane came again. I was fighting her."
"Her again? Why donât we kill her once and for all?"
Charlotte looked sideways at the old man who proposed that.
"If we tried, she could possibly run away and use that as an excuse to start a war. Weâre not prepared for that. Besides, if I donât train with her, how do you expect me to develop my skills? I think you really need to clean up the elders; theyâre getting senile and donât remember things anymore." She looked pretty annoyed.
That made her master stop the rest of the elders from giving their opinions. "She must be upset about what happened recently. Donât bother her." He whispered, and after a few words directed at Charlotte, they all flew off towards their mountains.
On the way to them, one of them opened his mouth.
"Sir, while we all understand that she is immensely talented, I think her way of doing things doesnât make sense. She could end up putting a sword to our necks in the end if we leave her like this."
Another elder nodded.
"Itâs not safe to depend on her. Sheâs too cunning and talented. Eventually, sheâll grow beyond our limit, and we wonât be able to control her."
"It would be a good idea to do something before that time comes."
All the elders voiced their opinions to the Leader of the Nevod Mountains, who is also the current Leader of the Race.
He smiled a little.
"Yes, sheâs too talented and annoying. But donât worry. The human race will win the next war because of her, but we will win our battle against her. I donât trust her either; thatâs why we are making our own plans." He replied.
.
On Charlotteâs mountain, Charlotte looked at the magic screen in front of her and sighed.
"A plan, eh... Vampires, Devourers, Humans, and other races. All together for one cause: to oust the Dietrich Legacy, eh... The plan is quite grand; I wonder if the Hill Clan will finally show up." She smiled.
If the game gets intense, her chessboard will have more moves, making the game more fun and dangerous.
âThis time, itâs the two of us against more than three races, my love. You must beware of betrayals, donât get overconfident, hard times are about to begin.â
