Chapter 12

Visions

Solomon Academy 1: Della

DELLA

We arrive at divination class where I find Sorin sitting at a table. I take the seat next to him with a smile.

“Hey, I didn’t know demons took this class.”

“I just go where I’m told,” I say with a shrug. “I’ve been known to have a vision or two, so who knows.”

“Really?” he asks.

“Yeah, the night we met I had a dream about the academy, actually.”

“That’s crazy. And what’s with the Nephilim?” he asks.

“Kade was volun-told to be my tour guide. But I think I’m growing on him,” I say, running a finger in circles around Kade’s knee under the table.

“You’re crazy.” He laughs as he turns to Kade and asks, “Did she tell you how we met?”

“Stop trying to scare people away from me,” I scold, laughing.

“She had a knife to my throat,” Sorin continues. Kade smirks as my hand travels higher up his leg.

“He dragged me into an alley first. Don’t listen to him,” I argue.

“Then you threatened to cut off a lust demon’s balls…”

“I knew about that one.” Kade grins.

“Did she tell you that she dragged Doctor Tenn into a girls’ bathroom?” Sorin asks.

“Now you’re messing with me,” Kade says, his brow furrowing.

“Technically, no. But he’s making it sound dirty intentionally. It wasn’t like that,” I say, shooting Sorin a glare. “Stop it.”

He chuckles at my expense. “I’m just saying that you’re a handful. Everyone should be warned about you.” Sorin shrugs.

I know he’s joking, but he’s not wrong.

I remove my hand from Kade’s leg and settle into class. Am I pushing too hard on teasing Kade? I’m happy with how things are going with him, but maybe I need to pull back. I stew in my thoughts for most of the class, only being pulled out of them by having to do a tea reading.

“You’re in inner turmoil,” Sorin says, raising an eyebrow as he peers into the cup like he’s trying to read fine print.

“Aren’t we all?” I ask, half-joking. I look into Sorin’s cup and am pulled into a vision.

~Writhing bodies and moans and hands and pink and bright white auras. Red hair and…blue.~

I snap out of the vision and almost throw the cup across the table.

“What did you see?! Your eyes went a super hot black!” Sorin asks, his aura bursting with pink.

“Um… I don’t know. It didn’t make sense,” I lie. I think he knows, too, but thankfully he doesn’t say anything.

“Oh… Well, that sucks. I gave you a good one.” He smiles, but it doesn’t reach his eyes.

I can’t stand it. He’s always so sweet and funny. “I’ll tell you later,” I whisper.

His brow furrows, but he nods. I don’t know how I’m going to tell him all of that, but I don’t want to lie to him.

We all head to lunch, and I tell Kade to go ahead and catch up with me later. He grins down at me before walking away.

“Are you going to tell me?” Sorin asks quietly. He sounds so serious—it breaks my heart.

“Yeah, but it’s kind of private. We should go somewhere else to talk about it,” I mutter awkwardly.

“Okay… Then let’s go into an empty classroom,” he suggests, guiding me to a door. We enter to find the room filled with chairs stacked haphazardly on one another. He turns to face me after he closes the door.

“So…um… This is kind of hard.” I laugh nervously. “I saw us in the vision. We were…together.” His eyebrows disappear behind his messy dark red hair.

“Like…together how?”

“Like we were in the middle of having sex,” I clarify bluntly.

“Oh… Oh, yeah. That’s not a classroom-appropriate vision,” he says, trying to hold back a grin.

“No, it’s not,” I agree.

“So… You know I like you?” he asks.

“I didn’t, no. But I’m kind of in a thing with someone.”

“I’m good with sharing. I prefer it, actually. Give me a chance?” he asks, stepping closer to me.

Breathing becomes difficult as his straining red shirt fills my view. “I need to talk to him first,” I manage to say.

His hand makes its way to my face, making my breath hitch as he smiles down at me. “Of course. If it’s a yes, let me know. And so you know, it’s not just a quick fuck for me. I was yours from the moment you had a knife against my throat in that tight little blue dress,” he says softly, making me whimper an incoherent response.

He smiles warmly, his light-blue eyes filled with heat, but he lets me go. He steps out of the room, closing the door softly behind him, and I just stand there, trying to remember how to breathe. These academy boys are doing a number on my poor libido!

I make my way to the cafeteria in a daze. If Kade had been lucky, that’s when he would have caught me. But I make it to the food without any more sexually charged moments.

I grab a chicken Caesar wrap and head to the guys’ table. Kade isn’t there, but that’s okay. He’s probably with his friends.

“There she is!” Oz exclaims as I approach.

“What did you do now?” I ask.

“Nothing yet. We were just wondering where you got off to,” Oz teases with a knowing smirk. I don’t miss the get-off comment.

“Just had to make a pit stop,” I reply with an easy smile. I see a small smile play on Sorin’s lips out of the corner of my eye.

“What do you have next?” Micha asks.

“History of the realms. Then I have power training again. What about you guys?” I ask, taking a bite of my wrap. I hum at the deliciousness.

No one answers.

I look up and see Oz is feeding… on Sorin and Micha. What the hell happened? I look around to see who walked past or bent over or something. I don’t see anything. I shrug and get back to my lunch.

“Incoming,” Oz whispers, pointing behind me.

I turn around and see Kade walking over. White and pink pouring over his aura. White? That’s new. I smile as I get up. “See you guys,” I say, laughing, and walk calmly out of the cafeteria and into the hall we were tucked into before.

I grab the first alcove instead of the fourth this time. I feel him approaching and pull him in as he passes.

He smiles down at me, and I push up on my toes to kiss him.

He breaks the kiss first. “I wanted to talk to you about what Sorin said in class,” he says seriously. “You know I like that you’re a handful, right?” My heart fills up at his words. “You’re my handful.” He looks down at my shirt with a mischievous smile. “Maybe two handfuls.”

I laugh and bring him down for another kiss. “I’m not going too far with the teasing, am I?” I ask.

“No. I like it. I do wish you weren’t so good at hiding, though. I should be able to find the one blue-haired girl in the school,” he says with a smile. “Don’t stop.”

“I won’t then. But now I have to tell you something,” I say, hesitating on how to word it. “The vision I had in class? It was Sorin and me having sex.”

His eyebrows shoot up. “I take it you told him, and he confessed his feelings?” he asks.

My brow furrows. “Y-yes.”

“He told me. He figured out about us. Not that I don’t want anyone to know, but I kind of like that it’s just ours,” he says quickly.

“I like that too.” I reach up and caress his cheek. “Um… I think Oz knows too. But there’s no hiding all of this from him,” I say, gesturing to our auras, and he grins.

“It’s okay, you know. Sorin and you. I told you before, I’m okay with it as long as we don’t stop,” he says. “I’m okay with Micha too. And Tenn if he can pull his head out of his ass.”

“I’m sorry, what?” I sputter.

“Yeah, they both like you too. Maybe they have something to do with your red string dream,” he points out.

I’m still wondering why he thinks The Doctor likes me. It seems like he can barely tolerate me. “I think you’ve gone insane,” I state.

He just chuckles. “You don’t see how they look at you when you’re not paying attention. I do.”

Ugh. “But Tenn? No way.”

He shrugs. “You do what you want with that information. I just wanted to say my piece out loud. I really am okay with sharing. Just as long as that Caleb asshole isn’t involved.”

“Ew. No.” I grimace.

“Okay, good. Because I swear there is something wrong with him.” I’d have to agree with that. “Are we still good?” he asks, sounding almost a little timid.

“You’re not getting rid of me that easily,” I whisper, pulling him down into another kiss.
