Malah, now visibly frightened, realized that if things w/ any worse, her father would certainly turn blind eye. As the sky grew darker outside, she was afraid to go back. She wayypated to trade, âLetâs just stay here for die night and see how things unfold. Væven if Matthew wants to find us, it wonât be
âKranson City is so big, and we havenât shown ourselves. As long as we stay hidden, no one will find us. Weâll
get through tonight and reassess the situation?
Dale agreed. After all, even though Matthew wielded immense power, dealing with everything, at once wouldnât be an easy feat. The two of them settled in a corner and had the burly man keep a dose watch on Katherine,
Katherine, trembling with the baby in her arms, fell a deep sense of dread. If anything happened to the baby here, she would never forgive herself. As she looked out into the pitchâblack night, she knew full well that with the baby in her hands, she wouldnât be able to escape. However, if she without the baby, the kidnappers wouldnât treat him well and might even kill him, Katherine could only hold the baby tightly and lean against the stroller, falling into a fitful, blurry sleep.
Meanwhile, Maliah, consumed by fear, only managed to drift off in the late hours of the night. After some time had passed, a deafening crash startled her awake. Looking up, she saw a dozen cars rushing in. She quickly yelled for Dale to escape, but he was nowhere to be seen,
Matthew emerged from one of the cars, his face flushed with anger, Katherine ran toward him and exclaimed, âMatthew, it was Maliah! She captured me and the child!â
Maliah, terrified, protested, âNo, it wasnât me! It was Dale! It was his idea!â
Matthew snorted coldly, âTie her up!â
A throng of people surged forward, pinning her to the ground and binding her tightly. Step by step, Matthew advanced menacingly.
Maliah trembled in fear as she pleaded, âMr. Grant, itâs not me. No, please spare met
Matthew looked at her and sneered, âHow dare you touch my son? Make her a cripple
With that, the bodyguard approached with a machete, ready to chop off her hands. Maliahâs heart- wrenching screams filled the air. Turning her head, she saw her father standing nearby, and she cried out as though seeing a savior. âDad, save me!â
However, Owen turned his head away, âMr. Grant, my daughter has overstepped. Please handle this matter as you see fit.â
Without another word, he turned and walked away. Maliah was struck with sheer terror. âNo!

Amid the screams and pain, Maliah awoke with a jolt. She looked around, relieved to find Dale
side her and patrolling guards outside. It had all been a dream but it felt so real. If it were real, her father wouldnât be able to help her. If Matthew truly came after her, she would be doomed.
The pain and the dream left her shaken. She was drenched in sweat, and the night outside remained as dark as ever. Wiping her brow, she felt her heart race, knowing that this nightmare might soon become reality. If Matthew truly went mad, and she was exposed, the Anderson family would certainly sacrifice her. She had only one option left.
Maliah took a deep breath and made up her mind. If that was the case, she would strike first. She stood up and walked over to where Katherine and the baby were sleeping beside the stroller. Her resolve hardenedâonly the dead could keep secrets. If they were gone, she would be safe.
Seeing Dale still asleep, Maliah quietly called over two burly men and had them move Katherine and the child into the car. Katherine, blindfolded, was struck unconscious before she could speak. Maliah drove the car to a cliff on the outskirts, planning to push both of them off to their deaths. By the time their bodies were found, they wouldâve long decomposed, and no one would su me, she thought.

As Maliah sped away, she received a call. Dale, now awake and found everyone missing, called her in a panic. He questioned frantically, âMaliah, are you insane? Did you take them away? What are you planning? Donât do anything reckless. If you provoke Matthew, youâll regret it!â
Maliah sneered. âAre you reluctant to let Katherine go? I knew that little slut was on your mind! Once theyâre dead, no one will be able to harm us anymore!â
Dale was terrified. âYouâre mad! Thatâs Matthewâs son! If heâs gone, Matthew will search the world to find the killer. Where are you? Come back!â
âI wonât listen to you. As long as theyâre dead, no one will know it was us. We just need to do this once, and it will be over. What are you worried about? Donât tell me youâre reluctant to let her die!â
Dale was exasperated. At a time like this, Maliah was still consumed with jealousy. âMaliah, youâre a fool! Get back here, and weâll come up with another plan. At worst, weâll flee far away, but we must not let Matthew find out!â
