Chapter 643
Marrying
Chapter 643
Matthew wasnât angry. âHowâs it going?â
Valerie said, âThe baby is being good. Knowing Iâm uncomfortable, heâs already fallen asleep.â
Matthew nodded, relieved.
As Valerieâs pregnancy advanced, with the due date next month, she had been particularly busy lately, which made him worry.
Valerie leaned in to kiss him. âMatthew, youâre the best dad Iâve ever seen!â
Matthew immediately smiled. âOf course. If not me, then who? This is all my love for you!â
Valerie gave him a thumbsâup. âI absolutely believe that.â
No one cared for her and the baby like Matthew did. He had replaced all the bedding at home and even installed voiceâcontrolled lights along the baseboards to prevent her from stumbling in the dark during nighttime trips.
Matthew attended to every detail personally.
That night, Valerie slept soundly. Charles was indeed efficient; by the next day, he had obtained Dannyâs address.
Upon hearing the news, Valerie was thrilled and hurried to go out, but Matthew stopped her. âWhatâs the rush? Iâm going with you!â
Valerie was surprised. âArenât you going to the office?â
âIâm not working today. Iâll personally accompany you to find Mr. Morse. Will you let me have the first glass of the wine he makes?â
Valerie laughed at his words. âSure, no problem!â
Valerie got in the car with Matthew, and after more than an hour of winding roads, they finally reached the foot of the mountain. Seeing the place, Valerie was stunned.
âMr. Morse lives here?â
Matthew explained, âThereâs a church halfway up the mountain thatâs available for rent. Mr. Morse rented this place for rest and recuperation. The place is spacious and the environment is decent.â
Valerie understood. Fortunately, the road went all the way up. As they arrived and parked, they heard a stern shout from the entrance, âGet out of here!
âTye already told you. Mr. Morse doesnât see visitors and doesnât leave the mountain! Hurry up and
go!â
Chapter 643
A group of people was shoved out by a middleâaged man. Seeing his stern demeanor, they were infuriated.
âYou old man, our boss offered a 400âthousandâdollar annual salary, and you still refuse? Do you know what you can do with the money in Kranson City?
âTell Mr. Morse to reconsider. Weâre just trying to help him. Itâs really shabby living in this godforsaken place!
âJust a few years, and heâll have everything he wants, villas and beautiful women!â
The middleâaged man was enraged. âMr. Morse is dedicated to winemaking. You know nothing about wine and just try to buy people with money. Vulgar!â
With a slam, he shut the door, leaving the group outside, grumbling
They spat at the door. âWhat bad luck. Never seen anyone who doesnât like money. How are we going to explain this to the boss?â a man said.
âLetâs go. Weâve come here so many times, and now weâre kicked out with nothing. The boss will have to come himself!â another man said.
âWait. If we go back like this, the boss will definitely scold us for returning too soon. It must be our fault!â
The group, unwilling to give up, went to the side to smoke, still seething, and tidied up the gifts.
Valerie looked at the gifts, seven or eight highâend items. Even these gifts were deemed inadequate by Danny.
Valerie thought, âOlivia was right. Recluses did have some quirks.â
Just as Valerie was about to go down, Matthew pulled her back. âDonât rush. Letâs wait until they leave. We donât know who these people are, and if you go down and they see you, it might complicate things.â
Commercial competition was everywhere. Matthew wanted to avoid exposing Valeric.
After a while, the group drove away but didnât go far, only about 60 feet from the church, and seemed to be doing something.
Matthew wasnât worried, but inside the church, there was also an argument going on.
Danny had chosen this place for its tranquility. The small house had everything he needed, and the fresh air was perfect for Stellaâs recovery. He didnât want to be disturbed by these people..
When the housekeeper arrived, Danny and Rowan were at odds.
âSir, Iâve driven them away, but they havenât gone far and are still lingering. A few more cars have arrived outside,â the housekeeper said.

Chapter 643
âForget it. I donât see visitors anyway,â Danny said.
Rowan was furious. They had come to Kranson City, and the journey had been intentionally concealed by Danny. If the driver hadnât leaked information, no one would know they had returned.
Rowan said, âSir, why did you enter this business? Isnât it for making money? Why cling to old rules?
âLike the saying goes, to stand out, one must pursue profit. Your fame is established, but we still need to fill our stomachs!
âOtherwise, how do we survive? I have been following you for so long, but look at what Iâm using, a threeâyearâold phone!â
Rowanâs words infuriated Danny, who looked at Rowan in disbelief. âOn the first day you joined me, I told you that if you learn from me, you must endure loneliness.
âIf you canât maintain this mindset, you shouldnât have entered this field. How did you say it back
then?
âRowan, youâre my disciple. After all these years, I havenât treated you poorly. Now youâre teaching me how to do things?
âYou should know what weâve been through! I just want Stella to get better soon. How can you be so impatient?â
Hearing him say this, a flash of guilt crossed Rowanâs eyes, but he quickly regained his composure. âSir, to put it bluntly, Stellaâs illness has been dragging on for so long. No one knows if she will ever get better. Itâs better toâ¦â
âShut up!â Danny roared. âStella is my life. I will spare no effort to cure her!â
