Chapter 642
Marrying
Chapter 642
Sophia was relieved and nodded before turning to leave.
Meanwhile, as Matthew enjoyed the meal Valerie had prepared, he was filled with gratitude.
He said, âAlright, stop focusing only on me. You should eat too. You donât want to starve. I heard from the housekeeper that you seem to have a big appetite lately?â
Valerie said, âYes, the doctor said that my weight will increase each week in the later stages. Iâm trying to control it strictly, but the chefâs cooking is just too delicious.â
Matthew looked her up and down and smiled. âItâs fine. With a nutritionist, you can eat whatever you want. Besides, you havenât gained much weight. Youâve actually lost some due to the busy schedule at the winery.â
Valerie said, âWell, you need to make it up to me!â
Matthew pinched her chin. âWhat kind of compensation do you want?â
Valerie raised an eyebrow. âIâm having trouble and need you to help me find someone!â
Matthew gave her a way out, and Valerie took it.
Hearing this, Matthew frowned. âFind someone? Who? A man or a woman?â
âA man.â
Matthew felt a bit jealous. âIâm here with you, and youâre thinking about other men, hmm?â
âOh, donât misunderstand!â
.

Valerie leaned closer. âItâs Mr. Danny Morse, the winemaker. I want him to come and help me. Even though Chloe is assisting, an ordinary winemaker still falls short.
âNowadays, winemakers are uneven in skill. Itâs hard to find one who uses traditional methods. If he helps, our wine brand can make further progress.â
Matthew understood and said, âDonât worry. Give me some time, and Iâll have Charles find him.â
âThank you,
Valerie gave
dear!â
him a kiss, making a loud smacking sound on his cheek.
Matthew smiled, thinking that Valerie had become much bolder.
He leaned down and lightly kissed her. âAre you full?â
âYes.
Matthew lifted her in his arms and carried her to the study.

Chapter 642
Valerie nestled in Matthewâs embrace, reading some documents while Matthew attended a video conference. His ears were filled with reports from his subordinates, and he playfully twirled a strand of Valerieâs hair.
Their intimate moments went unnoticed by outsiders.
On the other side of the screen, the product manager dared not make a sound, seeing Matthewâs casual demeanor. âMr. Grantâ¦â
âAlright, letâs do it this way! Charles, stay behind.â
Once everyone else had left, Charles stayed behind to receive new instructions.
âFind Danny Morse, the winemaker. Heâs already in Kranson City. I need his exact address within three days,â Matthew said.
âUnderstood!â
Charles took the orders and went to work. He thought, âIt must be related to Mrs. Grant. Otherwise,. why would Mr. Grant suddenly think of Mr. Morse?
After the meeting ended, which was always a torment, the real end of the workday only came after the reports were done.
Today, however, Matthew seemed to be in a good mood, only listening to the reports without making any additional arrangements; which was a relief for everyone.
Charles sighed, âEveryone else is off duty, and I still have to continue to work. As usual, Iâm shouldering it all.â
Valerie felt relieved. With Matthewâs support, finding the winemaker was just a matter of time. She finally relaxed.
After the meeting, she snuggled into Matthewâs arms. The atmosphere between them became a bit amorous. Looking up at Matthewâs jawline, Valerie couldnât help but reach out and touch it, tracing along his Adamâs apple.
Suddenly, Matthew grabbed her hand. âDonât fidget Be careful!â
Valerie playfully winked at him, and at that moment, the baby suddenly moved.
Valerie was excited. âThe baby moved! Quick!â
Matthew turned to grab a storybook and began reading to the baby in Valerieâs belly.
Perhaps hearing his voice excited the baby, who was rolling around in Valerieâs belly. She couldnât help but exclaim, âOh!â
Matthew leaned in and said, âBaby, donât be naughty. When youâre out, Iâll teach you a lesson.â Valerie pushed him. âWhy are you so harsh? This is your own baby!â

âI just donât want to see you in pain.
âWell then, sing a song for the baby. Itâs the best prenatal education. I hope the baby will settle 1. I hope the baby will settle down after hearing it.â
Matthew was taken aback. âSing?â
He looked troubled. He had no talent for singing!
Valerie pouted. âDonât you want to?
Matthewâs face darkened. This was quite a challenge for him. He looked at Valerie and pleaded, âCan you choose something else?â
Valerie cradled her belly as the baby moved again, causing her stomach to shift. Seeing this, Matthew immediately said, âIâll sing. Iâll sing âTwinkle, Twinkle, Little Star!â
He awkwardly sang, âTwinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you areâ¦â
It was hard to imagine Matthew singing to the baby.
The scene was incredibly heartwarming but also quite funny.
Matthewâs pitch was all over the place.
Valerie quietly took out her phone and recorded it. Hearing the deep, steady voice of her husband, she couldnât help but laugh out loud. âSorry, dear, itâs just too funny. I couldnât help it. Iâm sorry.â
Matthew realized she was teasing him but noticed Valerie only acted so cute during moments like these.
