“Linnie, it’s great to have you here,” Jeremy lamented. His thin and alluring lips were curled into a happy smile.

As he was smiling, he spread his arms to hold Madeline’s waist. Then, he placed his head gently on her body.

Madeline was stunned. Was he dreaming? Was he groggy with sleep?

Madeline held Jeremy’s head gently, and her fingers glided across his cheek.

“I’ll always stay with you and I won’t leave you.”

“I won’t let anyone bully you,” Jeremy suddenly promised Madeline.

Madeline smiled. “I know. You won’t let anyone bully me, and you’re doing just that. It’s very late now, just go to sleep if you’re tired.”

Suddenly, she felt as if she was dreaming, but this might be a beautiful dream…

Then, night turned to day.

Madeline slowly opened her eyes from sleep and realized she was lying on the bed in the bedroom.

She sat up abruptly, and the blanket fell from her shoulder. Her naked shoulder reminded her of the confusion that happened in the middle of the night.

Madeline’s face started to heat up and become red.
